The manager is rude, They refused to have us seated. You have to eat dinner. we only want coffee and desserts after having sushi for dinner. What a great customer service.11/26I would want to say something to the response.of these review. But I wouldnt want to be the same person. The response says it all, whether to say: Im a nice and apologetic person or not....

Great happy hour! Goes till 7 everyday, lots of food options. Several vegetarian options on the happy hour menu and the regular menu. Cant beat $3 wine during happy hour. Outdoor seating a little small. Prices not on happy hour a little bit expensive, but typical of downtown.

Good food, but service leaves a lot to be desired. We were told to come back in 30-45 minutes, which we did. When we came back, we were told we’d have to wait another hour since “so many people came up while you were out”. Not good. advice...stay and wait for an open table, don’t leave and come back, you unknowingly forfeit your place in line. They don’t take your name and phone number despite the suggestion.

Food is great. Service is very attentive. Dessert was terrible, do not order the creme brûlée cheesecake!

They tried to sneak in a Upcharge for the 2 drinks that we had. Thats how they called it on my check. $1.50for each drink on top of the regular price. When I questioned it they told me everyone does it. WRONG...They gave me back the $3.00 backin cash. Keep an eye on your check my friends. I know its difficult in these times, but dont try to cheat your customers .

The lavender martini is super amazing. Fried calamari and tiramisu are one of the best I have ever had. Definite a great place to hang out with great food and drink

The flavor was immaculate.We arrived at this quaint little town from a days long drive to dine here. It was pretty empty due to covid, I assume. So it was a pleasant and peaceful dining experience. Previous reviews mentioned a promising selection of Italian dishes.And this place did not disappoint. The Ravioli al modo mio was phenomenal! Portion sizes were ideal and the flavor quality blew our taste buds!We had our dinner accompanied by a fine selection of white wine and a lovely caprese salad.I dont remember who our server was but thank you for your excellent service, good sir. Grazie mille!

Cozy with great service. Went for happy hour and to listen to some live music. Appetizing happy hour selections were tasty. Cibo’s happy hour runs all evening on Thursdays!

Great bar experience with $3 Happy Hour and absolutely delicious appetizers. Also love their dinners and my favorites are the Marys Organic Chicken. and the Veal Chop with yummy accompaniments. Wonderful salads, too. The pear tart is a unique, delicious dessert! They have talented live jazz and rock bands nearly every night, too and beautiful spacious ambiance.

Weve had a wonderful christmas dinner! Jazz music and the cozy mood was perfect for a romantic dinner. The service was impeccable, the food very good and the desert just incredible!

This restaurant was a mild surprise for me. Its on a corner across from a convention center, and a location, crawling with tourists. But the prices were reasonable given the area and nature of the location. Best of all was the happy hour drink prices. You do have to sit at the bar to get the prices, however 3 of our party went to the bar and got drinks to bring back to our dining table. The waiter even suggested we do that. Speaking of which, the waiter was very good. Our food was first class.

Who says their happy hour starts at 4:00, and then doesnt serve any food at all until after 5:00?? I have been to many many happy hours and this is unheard of. Sad, because the food (that we could finally order and that arrived at our table at 5:25) was good, and the drinks were pretty good. I guess all those good reviews are from people that dont go to happy hour until after 5:00. We wont be back.

Went here on a Saturday night for food and live music. It was easy to get a reservation and it was a festive local when we entered. Although the environment seemed to suggest one should dress up in buttoned shirts and slack or crisp jeans, many were very casual. Families brought their children, babies and the like which was fine, just made this upscale looking place feel more like a Ruby Tuesday environment. The recorded music played was excellent which made it feel festive. Edgar was the waiter who served the couple over at the next table. He was so stellar making recommendations, smiling, and checking in on the couple periodically. I wish I had him. Our waiter was bare bones. He made no recommendations, said very little, never checked in on us, and rushed us through each stage of the meal. It seemed like he did this for another couple in view whose table he served which made his service seem even worse in comparison with Edgar who was offering top flight service at the next table. Food was great. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Finally, we got there at 6:30 pm. They open at 5pm. The live band hadnt started playing any music at the time of our departure which was about 8:15 pm. It would have been nice had they started earlier.

The service was very friendly and accommodating. The coffee & tiramisu good. Next time were in town, well have a meal here.

This restaurant is lovely, tastefully decorated, and has amazing raspberry kamakaze drinks. The staff were attentive, thoughtful, and courteous. The food is good.

My Husbands company party was held here. The staff was fantastic. Very attentive. The food was pre-arranged but everything that came out was amazing. Loved the crab cakes and shrimp!!! The cannoli was the best ever. Nobody wanted for anything. Wonderful place.

Came here with expectations of good Italian. I ordered the roasted tomato bruschetta and salmon. The first had more of a burnt taste and the second was way over cooked and veggies were cold. I’ve not been this disappointed since Denny’s.

Great food. Live music did not fit with the ambience. Would have given 5*s but for the irritating live band. A bit of background Bach or INXS, ABBA, Adele, Porcelli or Manic Street Preachers would be better... Just me?

Lovely, relaxed dining with perfect service. I am vegan, and they had an amazing, delicious Bruschetta that was vegan, and a Spaghetti with garlic and olive oil that was delicious and vegan. Add a couple of Lavendar Martinis, and it was perfection!

The place was beautiful. The employees somewhat for the job (above average) service.The concept of the plates (primo: Barbeque Baby Octopus & entree:Grilia Mista) was very very good, but the execution in the making of the food felt a bit like a missing piece, just above average.

Nice restaurant next to the convention center. Good food, ice menu, good wine selections. Recommended.

This is the best restaurant I’ve found on the Monterey Peninsula ️. I’m from NYC and I was a good writer there. Nothing compares. The octopus is better than any in NYC or even Portugal ️ It’s incredible. The prices are reasonable & could be much higher like so many overpriced places here. The owners are so charming and kind, and they treat you like family. Service is excellent. Sea bass special is fantastic, and so many other delights. Never disappoints. Can’t wait to go back!

My daughters and myself had a wonderful time at this restaurant tonight! Their food was outstanding and their ambiance is very chic. They had a live band (Dave Holodilooff Band) and they did a great job as well not overshadowing the meal. I had the seafood linguine in white wine sauce as the special of the evening, I thought it was done to perfection, the noodles, the sauce, the seadood all very well prepared. My daughters are very picky and both loved the linguine and Alfredo on the kids menu. My server Edgar was professional and kind as he did a great job of taking and executing our order. We had the gelato for dessert which was creamy and well made, all in all I could not be happier with our experience in this establishment! Thank Cibo amazing job! This is a Definite recommend!

I had to walk out. I left the restaurant because the waiter had no idea what he was doing. He answered with “what” and referred to the menu because he didn’t know it himself. All this was after sitting ourselves down and waiting 10 mins and asking to see the menu.

The gentleman who greeted us at the door was wearing an untucked flannel shirt and was a little insincere when his response was thats nice after I told him we had a reservation despite there clearly being available tables that evening. It just seemed like an odd customer service intro to the evening, and didnt really set the tone well. The decor of the restaurant is also off-putting, like a place that was trying to be really cool in the mid 90s. My steak was undercooked and not very special in its presentation and flavor, and our pear tart dessert did not seem fresh at all, the crust was damp and chewy instead of warm and flaky like youd except from a freshly-made tart. The gnocchi entree my wife had was quite good though.Nothing about the experience here was awful but also nothing made me feel like it was worth returning to.

The place is beautiful; we had live music and a nice waiter. The food however was not a typical Italian thing (according to the waiter, the owner was Italian).Service was too fast and pushy.Food can definitely use some more Italian flavour; mozzarella was of bad quality and the meat pizza was also not very good. Especially considering the price we pay.The place has a lot of potential and if the management would tweak some aspects positively I wouldnt mind to try again!

We found Cibo on Google, looking for a Italian restaurant.Cibo is fantastic, Rich our waiter the greatest service Ive seen in a long time 100%. Lovely place. Great food. The happy hour hours are really generous. Amy the bartender is absolutely lovely, she does an awesome job.

We really enjoyed the food. They have Happy Hour specials, in the bar, and they were ok, but not fabulous. Their pasta however, was excellent! My husband had the gnocchi trio, which was delicious. I had the bucatini, which was also very good. I felt the prices were a little high, for the portion size, but the flavors made up for it. Service wasnt the best, but we were sitting in the bar, so it may be better in the dining room. Overall, a good dining experience. Next time, I wouldnt bother with the Happy Hour, and sit in the main dining room.

Conveniently located near the Wharf, Cibos was a bright spot on an otherwise quiet weekday night in downtown Monterey! Live jazz trio with some real talent, gracious waitstaff, cool ambience, and very decent menu. If youre staying in that area, it makes for a nice evening out if you dont feel like driving.

We came for dessert cocktails and music at 9. The waiter ignored us so we went to the bar to get a bottle of wine. Did not get dessert... we would go back to see the Eldorados! And the wine selection was good.

We found the food to be outstanding—from the bread to the desert. We tend to form our initial impression of a restaurant based upon the quality of its bread, and Cibo passed with flying colors. Then came the soup with its perfectly balanced flavors, neither too much nor to little of any of the herbs and spices. The salad was perfect, particularly since Cibo understood what light on the dressing means. Next came the entrees, and all we can say is WOW! The salmon with the blood orange sauce was delicious as was the mixed seafood grill. And, all of the seafood was cooked perfectly—neither under nor over cooked. Finally, desert, while scrumptious, was a disaster—at least for our waistlines. Of course, the ambience and the service were right up there with the quality of the food. Don’t think we could have asked for much more in a restaurant. We only regret that we had not found Cibo earlier.

I believe this may have been the most delicious meal I have ever had. The food was outstanding, service by Edgar was excellent, and the live music was awesome. Mama, the owner, came table side and greeted us with a warm welcome and delightful suggestions. If you want a truly wonderful dining experience, then try this place out!

Service was poor. Had to get up a few times to get water. Never came by to ask if I needed anything or how my meal was. I could go on but Ill leave it at that.

Outstanding Italian food! I had the chicken marsala after starting with the brushetta appetizer. Both were delicious! Service was top notch, good pace but not rushed. My partner had the 3 gnocchi plate, also delicious...not gummy like it can get. For dessert, the chocolate torta was just stunningly great. I could have had two more. Highly recommended, we will be back!
