Oktoberfest was nice, the people were very welcoming and friendly. Even though I discovered the festivities a bit later then desired I Caught the end of the show which was about twenty to twenty five minutes long but still very nice moment. Just about every thing there was well thought of the Great music, the tasty food in the grills, and the excellent selection of Kraft BEER!

Inscription: The Sanchez Adobe was built in 1845 and is the oldest home in the Montebello area. The land was granted to Dona Casilda Soto de Lobo by the Mexican Governor Manuel Micheltorena on October 8, 1844. Mrs. Josephine Scott Crocker deeded the Sanchez Adobe to the City of Montebello on June 24, 1972. Montebello City and the Montebello Historical Society share in the preservation of the site.Open Saturdays 12-4.

Mr sanchez is a curator of this, site and gave tours. he is a direct desendant of sanchez adobe mansion and gives a wonderful detail account of the history of this entire area from fullerton, workman mill, la puente, yorba linda. It was such a blessing to have him directly tell me the story of his ancestors. There is actual abode mud in the ground which is what the mansion is made up of. I actually made pottery from the adobe in the ground because my friend lived next door to the mansion. We put it in a kiln too.
