The campground is very nice and and secluded. Even though they were full it was still really quiet which was nice. The TT cabin was cozy, the kitchen was fully stocked with paper products, trash bags, linens and dish soap. Pleasantly surprised even though we packed our own. Glad we brought our own steak knives, haha! Theres plenty of hot water which is great!
This is my favorite park to stay at in the Thousand Trails network, it’s quiet and just beautiful. I love how there are spots by the river if you don’t mind not having a sewer hookup. I come to Washington twice a year and it’s what I look forward to the most! They have beautiful landscaping with gorgeous flowers and over all just my favorite park to stay!!
We stayed here over the fourth of July weekend and had an amazing time. The pools are well maintained, there is mini golf, basketball, volleyball, a playground, firepit, a large beautiful and fun red barn with food and activities. It is kid friendly, pet friendly, and only 10 minutes from shopping. And my two favorite things are how clean the resort is and how friendly the staff are. The Thunderbird RV Resort is a little oasis where you will fall in love with Washington even more. There is also Yurts, tent sites and cabins if you dont have your trailer. Stay here next time you are in the area!..We were hosted for our stay, but all opinions are my own.
I was visiting friends at the RV park. I had to register to get in but that is understandable. It seemed well groomed and clean.
Nice facilities (pools! shuffleboard, mini golf). Really nice staff. Some sites close to the river are nice, but it is very much like an RV parking lot... which is pretty common. We didnt find any spots for hiking/walking about, other than through the campsite. Monroe is close by and looked really well taken care of.
The campground is very run down the sites are not anywhere near level and in some cases dangerous around deteriorating walls that hold some of the sites in place. The staff seems to not know what is open and what is not, I was instructed to go find a site and let them know later, pulling a large camper around looking for a site is not the most effective way to find a camp site. One thing that struck me odd, was since I was a cash customer, and not a member is that I kind of got priority on sites and was allowed to extend my stay without any issues except the confusion to do so, which may have left a member out without a place to park.
2nd Update - Kim - their current manager, called me personally to hear me out and apologize for the poor experience we had. I appreciate her taking the time to contact me, and I do not envy the task she has with that park.Update - See my full reviews on Tripadvisor and Yelp. One member of the staff was very nice and helpful in getting us a campsite on short notice, however if youre tent camping, this is not anywhere near roughing it. Theres nothing separating sites and they are all right next to the fence and the main road. Not every tent site has a fire ring either. See my photo. Its a pretty area, and this looks like a great place for an RV, but its way overpriced for tent camping, a good $20/night higher than state parks with better sites.Would not recommend for tent camping - ever. The staff think they are traffic cops and effectively detained me against my will by blocking my car with a golf cart to scold me about going a little fast. The staff member that detained me finished a conversation with another camper while still blocking me. I am exploring my legal recourse against this individual and the RV park - extremely unprofessional behavior, and they treat long term campers differently (I observed them allowing kids to run around and many other drivers speeding that were not being targeted).
Lovely park, lots of fun amenities and family oriented. Great for RVs.If youre a tent camper, avoid this place like Covid19. The tent sites seem like a tacked on afterthought bc they were too small for an RV. They are basically grassy parking spaces. A fire pit is not guaranteed and when we inquired about it, the very nice lady at the front check in had no clue which sites had fire pits. The tent sites are right next to the road and I mean right next to it. The traffic woke me up throughout the night. I would suggest that the tent sites were not so close to the road. Also, no trees or foliage to give privacy. To add insult to injury, we paid almost twice per night what we paid at a state park with huge gorgeous tent sites. This place was not made with tent camping in mind and it has too many amenities to feel like youre roughing it. Some of the staff are downright rude as well though the lady who checked us in was very nice. We wont be back.
Greeter was not welcoming even less on pass through older lady the maintenence guy and Kim where awesome
Beautiful friendly staff and John even helped me put together my sons new Spiderman quad. (P.S) I dont even think hes part of the staff but his wife is. Thanks guys for being awesome
Need to keep Laundry Room Open..other than that its Gr8
Beautiful park and the staff is super friendly. They have some great memberships. Ask for Aaron. Cool guy.
Id like to give it a better rating because the staff has been helpful but the park needs a lot of work and the power pole we plugged into, though it tested good before we plugged into it, lost its neutral leg (the leg opened)a week into our stay and blew out some appliances and a breaker in the trailer. (This is why we should all buy surge protectors).Good location but poor river access, lots of services down due to Covid but the upkeep was not great even before that. The park design and layout is older than pop outs so large campers etc arent easily maneuverable into some spots and once in the spots are on the thin side.Good number of full hookups spot though.Must have been great in its hayday.Even with its downfalls it packed May through Sept.
Is safe and healty fresh air
This place is awesome for any season, and an incredible get away. I went there for a few days and when it came time to go I didnt want to leave. The staff are friendly and helpful and the nature is amazing also spacious campsites for tents
Love going here. Non-Covid times, there is lots to do.
We came from Oregon to visit my Aunt in Issaquah Wa. Thought why not check out the camp where we are booked into for a week with our grandchildren. Drove 1 hour to the camp and was told we could not go in because of COVID 19. Upon our arrival for our vacation, we arrived and only stayed 2 days out of 5 we had booked. First of all the place is horribly ran down. Everything is over grown. Over 90% of the trailers looked like fulltime residents. The sites were not maintained at all. Just big mud pits! Pot holes and not even a fire ring. Plus the charge for WIFI and cable. We will NOT recommend this park!!!
Well... sigh
Full hookup sites are on a hill. Sites are fairly level but depending on direction you park (terraced) the first step can be too high if facing downhill. Power and water sites are on the river. There is a game room, putt putt golf (very worn) playground, pool, shuffle board, horseshoes and laundry. Shopping nearby (20 minutes) Narrow road getting to campground.
Interesting, doesnt Seem to be run very well. Small spots, not much privacy. Not in great condition.
My husband and I went up to see the place will be doing an event there this summer and beautiful place lots of amenities for an RV park Ive never seen so much excited to go back this summer and relax there the gentleman at the ranger Park was courteous and full of information he answered all my questions never got annoyed by me asking so many questions I apologize time and time again for all the questions and he just put a smile on his face and kept saying its okay which made me feel comfortable and he gave us a pass and we were able to go check out everything he didnt give us a time frame so it was really really nice I like the fact that theres a laundry facility there when we having kids sometimes we can pack for the best but the worst can always happen they have things for parents and kids to do things together which is great Im excited to do the mini golf with my son and swimming this is going to be a fabulous time this summer
Nice wooded sites or river view.
Sites are first come, first served, even if you have a reservation. They don’t assign sites. The only full hookup spot available we could fit in (28 foot trailer) was so sloped we couldn’t get our trailer leveled at all. We had to go to a water/electric only site but were charged for a full site. Campground needs cleanup and maintenance. We were quite disappointed and won’t stay at this campground again.
I go here every once and a while and they usually have these amazing events in the lodge. Amazing staff went right next to the river perfect for catching crawdads. Although can sometimes be a hassle with the wifi.
We ha a nice stay.
Nice place, very safe for family and friends to be.
It was a nice RV park. Part of the Thousand trails camping membership
Nice park along the Snohomish river. The lower park over err looks the river but has no sewer hookups. The upper park is across the road and is small but pretty with full hookups.
This is an amazing place. Something for absolutely everyone.
Beautiful spot
Staff is very friendly. Amenities are mostly taken care of. But there are slim pickings for sites. You can tell there are a lot of people that live there and almost nowhere to park. You are right on top of your neighbor. A lot of road noise - so if you’re looking for quiet, I wouldn’t recommend it. Bathrooms could be better maintained.
Very pretty but mens room only one shower in working order and only two showers on womens side to service about 100 people our side of park with no sewer hookup on this side of park.No cable but you can purchase wifi for 6 dollars that is normally free for RV parks. Would not stay here again Flowing Lake campground a better option for this area.
On the north side of a mountain. Never see sun in october thru april due to trees and mountain. Sites are on slopes. Not level front to back or side to side.
Nice pool area and playground. You will need to drive to do other activities as they are not close to the camp ground.
One of the nicer thousand trail parks we weve been too. Loved the separate pools for families and adults. Putt putt area needs some TLC. We stayed during labor day weekend so it was super crowded. the teens occupied the playground the whole weekend and were not very accepting of toddlers being on it. They also cussed a lot! The activities the staff put together was very fun! Bathrooms were always very clean! Super friendly staff.
Ive been going here since I was a kid its a great place to take your family for all your camping and swimming needs
Thunderbird is owned by Thousand Trails. Is one of my favorite parks. I noticed in the last year year-and-a-half it is went down hill. I understand theres a new manager and I see major changes taking place again which making it a great Park. Now the only problem I have is trying to get into that Park. If you have a family or if its just you and your wife its a great place to camp it has three swimming pools, shuffleboard, horseshoes, riverviews. Its just a great place all around. And has one of the friendliest staffs that Ive ever met.
We stayed in one of the older cabins; it was cute and clean! Plenty of space for a small family to relax. My trip was such that we only really slept in the cabin and did not explore the grounds. It looked to have fun play areas, bbq areas, etc. People we met were nice. The pull out sofa bed was not the most comfortable but the lower bunk was fine. Bring linens or rent a linen package for $12.
Looked good
ThE Thunderbird Rv and camping resort was a great time lots to do at the site, with swimming and mini golf. The cabin we rented was cozy and nice. The family members that came to visit us were very impressed and will be making there own arrangements to stay.
I just love the Rangers thier at the Thunderbird RVResort. They are out going in there way to take care of my problems. Also the maintenance here at the Thunderbird RV resort go out of their way to help you with any problems that you have I appreciate them and I appreciate the rangers.
Nice park with very well kept amenities. Decent showers, 3 pools and all the regular stuff. One side has full hook-ups with 30a power under the trees. The other side has water and electric only but has 50a electric and sits at the side of a river. Wifi available ($$) but I have a 4 bar LTE signal on my T-Mobile phone/hotspot so dont need it. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who could tell me every available site when I checked in. I give this park a 4.6 out of 5 and I would definitely return.
Seems like most of the upper park is filled with annual sites. If you’re lucky enough to get a space up there, it’s not too bad.The lower half of the park was poorly designed and is more like a highway rest stop than TT park. The sites are jammed in next to each other and you’ll hear everything your neighbors say. No privacy, no view, and no sewer.
Love the 3 pools and the hot tub and cheryl taff that works there
Not up to the standards I have come to expect with Thousand Trails properties. Loud, on very busy road favored by motorcycles, and a train that goes through several times a day. River is inaccessible, not an entertainment feature. Only one side of the property has waste hook-ups, although one can clear holding tanks onsite. The pool area is heated and nice.
Had an anniversary celebration with brothers and sisters. Friendly people and park employees. Helpful in any situation. Will be back. !
Showers never run out of hot water. There are activities to do. And nice view of the river
Nice having 3 different pools, nice play area for the kids.
Many activities to do and a variety of pools. Would definitely recommend the mini golf.
Park is in 3 sections with gate at each one. Pulled into 1st section and couldnt get in cause it was closed on Sunday. Nice rver opened gate so we could turn around, otherwise backing out onto 2 lane hiway. Made me mad that signs were not obvious. 2 Sections on River very nice but no sewer, so we stayed in hill section. Some sites very muddy, ours was good. Hiked on trail to water tower, went to Monroe, visited river park, downtown and RV show at state fairgrounds there. Big bike trail near by. TV and wifi good in adult lounge, laundry good for 2$ load. Excellent shower pressure in pool shower. No TV at all with antenna but river sites might get it. Hot tub not quite hot but very clean. Staff very nice.
Great place to stay! Not the classiest not the most upgraded but definitely a good place to stay. We stayed often and well stay many more times again
We saw a couple of good reviews and decided to give them a call. They showed professionalism and really good manners, something we really appreciate. They delivered the promised results and left us a card.
This location is very serene near the river what unfortunately detracts from it is the full-time RV’s that live there. Most are friendly but some are not.
Being Thousand Trails members we are happy this place exists. There are three sections, the full hookups are across the road from the river and are mostly 30AMP and many are on the hillside and can be tricky for a large RV to get in and out of. The other two sections are 50AMP water and electric sites, some with their rear to the river. All sites are back in and you are not allowed to pull forward into them due to fire marshal rules. The road to get to the campground is narrow in some places, especially coming from Sultan, but doable with a big rig. The staff is quite nice and they have activities on summer weekends.
Staying during the fall and winter months. Convenient to Seattle. Management and rangers are super awesome! Nice amenities!
Clean, well kept. Pool area is awesome.
I have been going to this campground since I was born. Love the activity host!! Only strict thing is their rules like cmon 18 and up to go into a hot tub?. But overall great campsite and great staff also
Decent membership campground. Our go-to place to stay when in the area.
Love the view
Very nice clean you have to pay for Wi-Fi
Great staff, helpful and friendly folks
Great place. Clean and nice sites blotsnof trees. Good internet connection
Nice get away spot. Across from the river. Lots of activities for kids as well as adults. People very friendly including staff. Worth the visit especially for families
Loving this campground. Stayed on the river side, not our thing but moved over to the other side when spots opened up, now we are in a sweet spot. Great staff and facilities are better than expected.
Well maintained and managed by Malcolm, Marci, and crew.
Nice, quiet rv park right on the skykomish river. Limited fhu.
Love it
Great campground. I love it there.
Its in a close Enough area of to our daughter, & family. The stores in Monroe, & has all the amenities necessary for Our needs. Plus if youre Fishing travelers its right on the Snohomish River.
Love love love it here. They have 3 pools. I adult, 1familyand one for bsbies and toddlers thats only 12in deep. They also have a hot tub, horse shoes, basketball, shuffle board, an on-site laundry facility. And so much more. Only complaint is that there is no running water/electrical outlets for camping only. :( other than that. Id give this cute, quiet, quaint, little tucked away treasure a 10 out of10 stars
Helpful staff and nice layout. Right on the river and a little mini golf and pool area!
Got kicked out for being too young in the “adult” pool, we’re 16, there was no one in the pool. Although there was a rule only 18 and older, we don’t understand why. The hot tub wasn’t even hot. Bummed because we look younger than we are. Creepy employee asked us for numbers. Had to move our car horizontal instead of vertical. ??? What’s that about?
I went to that place to visit my cousins but that place is awesome
Loved it peacefull quiet
Great location! Very nice people. Clean and just what you might want for a relaxing get a way.
A little run down. Pools are well maintained. Satellite reception limited or none due to tall trees. On the other hand, great choices of shady sites or near the river. AT&T good. Verizon not as good.
Cabins and out buildings are nice, pool is clean, but grounds need work, trees need danger branches pruned, lawn mowed, etc.
My opinion is the place needs to be cleaned up shity management the putt putt golf course is falling apart the pools werent that clean could be way nicer like it used to be but its still a fun place
Nice RV park
We stayed three nights, was perfect for what we needed. Showers were clean. Staff was friendly. Sights were easy to get in.
Everything is awesome except they have one bad employee working their named Michelle who may decide to rain on your parade if she is bored and having a bad day. Very aggressive person who wants to start altercations when peaceful resolution is an equally easy path to take. When she is gone the park will improve and Ill change my rating accordingly. Everything else and all other people working here have been great!
I Loved my stay at Thunder Bird RV Park the Camp Host was great helping us find a spot when I got here, a nice peacefull place with no problems. AWSOME!
If you like to fish this is the spot for you! Walking distance to the river, many places to walk the banks with kids etc. Pool & hot tub are nice.
Beautiful area out in the nature. No wifi while we were there but I guess the point of heading out in to the nature is that we shouldnt need it !! The pools are great and its a good stop for kids. The cabins are clean and good as far as cabin accomodation goes. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Nice, clean, well maintained campsite. Beautiful area, country living, nice town. Just gives you a good feeling, the whole area makes you feel like ....when you take a deep breath. ..slowly exhaling and thanking God for a wonderful day and a good life....you know, like that!
Great RV park located just outside of Monroe. Theres lots of amenities, including 4 heated outdoor pools, a miniature golf course, vending machines, a club-house, laundry, and bathrooms/showers. Very friendly staff. Did our first RV test at this location and loved it, great rates for full hookup. Lost 1 star due to lot being slanted/not level, so several attempts at leveling.
Nice pools. Clean camp.
We had not been here in some time but we had a great time. we were there for day only
Its nice and quiet i would recommend that they fix the mini golf course
Nice people. Small sites. They really cant accommodate Class A RVs. We had two options 50 amps no sewer or 30 amp with sewer. Luckily we got one of the very few with both.
We are Thousand Trails members and camped here in October 2017. The voltage to our campsite was too low. As a result, our microwave and central vac were burned out- neither of these were running, we just simply plugged-in our rig. A neighboring, frequent camper said that Thunderbird has had previous electrical problems. We have experienced unbelievably poor customer service with Thousand Trails member services about this camp. No one will communicate with us. We use a surge protector, but that will not help this problem. Lesson learned - ALWAYS check the voltage BEFORE you plug in. Voltage should be between 117 and 125. Low voltage can burn out motors, which can lead to a fire. Because of that, I wouldnt recommend this campground to anyone. Its my opinion that because of the poor electrical system, Thunderbird is a disaster waiting to happen.
Stayed here early July 2018 @ $61 per night. First site had barking dog, no internet and bad pedestal. Complained but nothing done. Second site was w & e only. Internet slow and half worked. Bathrooms near pool were wet, dirty and lacked any hooks to hang clothes from. No TV (air or cable). PROs - green grass, good water pressure nice lady at gate.
Had wi fi and have Verizon hot spot for my laptop and was able to use phone and computer. Nice campground. One side is 30 amp with full hookup and on the river side it is 50 amp service but no sewer hookup. Park is very nice and pet friendly. Nice sites. Not far from Seattle or things to do. We enjoyed our stay there
I love this place it has everything including great staff .. Im speechless
Tent camp site has no fire pit. We were looking forward to roasting marshmallows and sitting by the fire. Extremely disappointed.
