Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Monroe, Georgia is a haven for artists, art enthusiasts, and those looking for that one-of-a-kind special something. Emerging and professional local artisans alike showcase their work in this fantastic space. As an out-of-towner from a city known for its art, to say that I was highly impressed with both the quality and variety of mediums represented in the exhibition is an understatement. In fact, I was so moved by the passion and talent on display that I simply had to purchase one of the gorgeous oil paintings for my NC home. And, as an art appreciator, it was my joy to become a MWCA member. I can think of no better way to encourage visual arts in the local community than financially supporting those creative endeavors. I look forward to a return visit soon!
This is a happy place!! You can view the work of local artists, shop for handmade crafts, jewelry and other unique gifts. There are great informal classes, receptions and workshops to attend for all ages. Definitely worth a look when you visit Monroe. Right next to the Wells Fargo Bank.
This nifty shop is my go-to spot for unique, handmade or painted or thrown gifts (sometimes gifts to me :) ) of all sorts. I like knowing Im supporting artists and shopping local. Ive also had great experiences at two different classes and will be taking more. Drop by! Check out MWCA. You wont be disappointed.
Great art by artists. Perfect items for gift giving.
Wonderful gem in Monroe! Take classes, shop from local artists, and stop by to see the gallery. You cant go wrong at the MWCA!
A wonderful nurturing place for those with an artistic spirit. Lots of opportunities to buy local art.
I take classes and volunteer here regularly. This is a very nice establishment with friendly people and a great gift shop! A great place to visit for learning and fun. Highly recommended if you are walking downtown and are looking for something to do or somewhere to shop. By buying from the gift shop/gallery, you not only support local artists but you also support the entire building and its commitment to the art community. Plus, new things are always being added to the shop and new classes/events are always something to look out for. Volunteering here is also recommended because everyone there is so nice and fun to be around!
You need to visit you need to support. Has an excellent Pottery Studio with excellent instruction. Mini courses available. Excellent display of variety but you just want to stop the world for a second and absorb.
