Hickory Creek Preserve

Beautiful fall scenery while walking thru various forestry settings and animal habitats. Easy walk but you need to be aware that cyclists use the same path. There is a bridge over the babbling creek. The area was quiet encouraging defection and relaxation. There are also a few benches placed along the walk for resting.

This is a nice park that is great for biking, jogging and walking. We like the paved pathway, which is great for strollers. Theres plenty of shade and outdoor areas to explore and enjoy, including a small creek.

Very well maintained and interesting trail. Passing a creek through some prairie and woods. Evening times comes with the bonus of close calls with deers. Unfortunately the dogs are not allowed pass the bridge.

Very clean, well kept paths that meander through prairie and old growth forest. Lots of photography opportunities and a nice place to take hikes.

Besides the obviously busy roads near the entrances which can be quite loud, the nature preserve is gorgeous, well-maintained, and full of wildlife ranging from squirrels to deer and many great bird singers in between. Its a quaint place to walk every weekend, and the hills keep up the level of activity for any person. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to unwind. Just make sure to bring the bug spray and camera!

Great place to walk or ride a bike for exercise. Clean and not crowded.

The food was good. They all kept looking at me funny cuz Im a heavily tattooed white chick, lol. The only complaint I have is they didnt have certain items on the menu in stock. I ended up getting something else which was pretty tasty. Prices are slightly high, too.

Great walk with a covered bridge going over route 30. A little too much traffic for my liking and it’s completely paved. More of a walking, running, biking trail, not a hiking trail. It’s an out and back trail that connects to I&M canal trail.

Used to access Old Plank Trail, this a great spot to park and use a restroom before getting on the path.

I love to leave LA Fitness, head down Route 30 and run on this path. You can head east toward Schoolhouse Road, or head south to the Plank Road trail.

Love the trail! I go on my bike often! WARNING : EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION : This trail is super hilly and narrow, a couple of people have even died or gotten seriously injured on this hill. Other than that. They just did some reforestation and the path looks well paces and sealed. The creeks are cool to stop by and I see some C.A.R fishermen there frequently. The only thing I personally worry about is the shadyness of the trail being that if you walk or run. Bring somebody

Ive been going to the hickory creek preserve since I was little. Very clean, very nice with plenty of beaten paths to go off walking on if youre tired of walking the paved way.
