One of the best music venues in downtown Mobile. I’m ready for them to open again so I can go see some live music! The owners are currently organizing these really cool drive in movie events. Go check it out and support downtown businesses!

Its a small venue that allows for a more intimate concert. I decided to get a riser seat. That was a great choice. The other option is to stand in front of the stage. Given that alcohol is served, I didnt want to stand the chance of getting any type of liquids on my shoes. With that, the concert was great, the drinks were okay, and I cant wait to go back.

The staff did there jobs at Soul Kitchen tonight and the music was on point but oh my lord the people that attended this badflower concert, well... Lets just say it was like standing in a room full of zombies barely bobbing their heads even to the hard songs. Kind of pitiful.

Worst sound experience ever. This place had the speakers cranked up way too high. Everything was distorted, couldnt understand the vocals and Im pretty sure I have permanent hearing damage. Those I attended with agree. My ears were ringing for 2 days. Ill never return to this place. If youre considering attending a concert here bring hearing protection!

First time to Soul Kitchen, and it will be my last. Went there to see Billy Strings, and it was very disappointing. There was no seating provided, and the staging and acoustics in this place were so poor that we could hardly see or hear the performance. Security was a joke, and drinks were ridiculously expensive, but the bar staff provided pretty good service. Billy Strings and his band are phenomenal musicians, and were very gracious, considering this place completely sucked. Hope he returns to this area again to play at a better venue.

Love the variety of music at this venue. Their attention to detail and brining in great music acts is what sets them apart from most night clubs. While Im a hardcore music guy myself, I do enjoy stopping by for something a bit different from time to time.

AWFUL! Completely horrible experience. Waited over AN HOUR outside for a party, (in which I paid 3 weeks in advanced to go to), because security chose to pick fights with the crowd. People were shoved, cursed out, and grabbed by security because security was upset they were being questioned as to why they would not open the doors, when NO ONE was inside this rag place. Security AND management should be fired; completely disgusting and horrible place. If you are looking for a good time, this is definitely not the place for you. Security was so consumed in themselves to appear as a “threat” instead of actually securing the place. The few that were inside had illegal substances and guns. Watch your back in this place. Will not be returning ever again.

Fun live music venue. Good bookings. Seating isnt great but fine when you can stand. The acoustics are good and the atmosphere is intimate. The acts they get are varied, they schedule something for everyone, including glow rages, country, bluegrass, reggae/ska, hip-hop and rock; they have all ages shows too. Tickets and drinks are affordable.

This was the worst concert experience I’ve ever had. There was NO air conditioning and the concert was SOLD OUT. Literally had people sweating all over me and stepping on me. I felt sick the whole time the opening act was on and barely made it through Cody Johnson’s first song before I left because I could not breathe. Do not recommend.

Good venue for live Acts. Seen some incredible performances I normally would of never seen. Ive seen a lot of various changes to the venue over the years and all for the better to the front and to the back where they set up the stage for better flow of traffic. Good job on booking acts and all in all a good experience. Never had a bad time here.

This was my first time seeing a show at the Soul Kitchen. The staff at the Soul Kitchen was one of best. The security team worked in the most professional manner. I had bought tickets in the seated area. I had a chance to watch Gene the security guard deal with several rude customers and he handled all of them swiftly, with grace. This is a great venue. The sound and space are excellent. The drinks were good. The only thing I would do different is add an extra bartender. I was impressed and I will definitely be back this was a great venue to see the Molly Ringwalds. Their show was awesome, as usual and I had a great time!!

Best live music venue in Mobile. What makes it the best is not the space itself, although recent renovations have upgraded the raw feel of the place into something more palatable to people not used to a small locally owned music hall. The owners pour their heart and soul into this place and have years and years of experience in booking artists. The sound equipment is second to none in the region and with its 1100 person capacity it is the perfect size venue to catch those rising stars before they start filling arenas. Youre never more likely to say I saw them when... than at the Soul Kitchen Music Hall.

The Soul Kitchen had multiple flash sales going on for a long time which is where my two friends and I bought $15 tickets . My two friends and I stood in line for 3 1/2-4 hours in the ticket line, just for security to close the door on us and say we’re not letting people in. The fire marshall came and shut it down because there was so many people on the side walk....the Soul Kitchen wasn’t even full to capacity, and they had hundreds of people standing outside. I feel that the Soul Kitchen should know when they say “ all schools” or “ anyone can come”, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SHOW UP because it’s supposed to be a big party. They know the maximum amount of people who can be in the building which wasn’t even fulfilled. The reason why they closed the door was 1.)There was a huge crowd at the front of the door which messed up the 250 +people including us who was behind them who were in a straight line also huge fire hazard 2.)there were 5 people with fake pictures of tickets on their phone who were trying to get passed knowing they shouldn’t and couldn’t . We paid cash for tickets, so that’s what I expect to get for our tickets since we came to stand outside. I feel that this “event” was unacceptable and unorganized. The Soul Kitchen should prioritize in hand tickets in a orderly fashion at the door, should show distinct lines of the people who wanted to pay at the door, and should dismiss people who won’t comply with the instructions. We are waiting on our refunds because money is hard to come by college for people to come and pay for tickets and some out of state to not set foot inside the building. First impressions are at an all time low, very unsatisfied. I won’t be attending next year’s.

Enjoyed the Leela James show and Daley was awesome!! However, the setup was open floor and they arent those type of artists. There should have been tables and chairs, instead nowhere to sit!! This was a grown folks atmosphere and we had to stand the entire time. My feet still hurt!!! I will not attend another concert here.

I had a blast, It certainly was not as dirty to the degree some of the comments indicated. Third time seeing Frank and it was a Great show!!! Heading back on Friday for Upchurch.

Its not bad, but could defiantly use some renovation. It gets very crowded and hot very quickly, and the a.c. cant keep up. Even breaking Benjamin made a comment when they played tonight. Crowd gets packed in like sardines and it gets very uncomfortable. And as someone with arthritis in my knee, its very hard to stand the entire time for a show. They do have some good shows though.

My first time there was to see Leela James in April and I enjoyed myself they have maybe 20 seats first come first serve basis.....So have on some comfortable shoes ladies. Its a nice atmosphere to chill for a minute and listen to the artist you came to see.The one thing I wish they would do different is play some other music instead of having ppl just stand around while waiting for the artist(s) to perform.
