Was an excellent trail to venture on with friends and pets. Had a great time letting my puppers chalantly walking around in the creek. Wouldve walked in the water myself but didnt have suitable footwear to do so. Maybe for another time. Would definitely recommend taking the trails off the paved area, definitely worth it. The sights and greenery are endlessly beautiful. You can definitely get lost in the beauty. Make sure youre careful with your footing when you get in the water or in the dense weeds. Also just want to point out to all in case you enter to be careful of these little guys crawling on the ground. Do not pick them up with your hands nor let them touch you or anyone else, especially pets. The hairs can cause serious hives and anaphylaxis. So please be careful if you see one crawling around.

Beautiful park following Rattlesnake Creek. Great place to take your dog for a walk or to take family pictures. There does seem to consistently be quite a few people here, so if youre looking to get in to nature and away from everyone else, this is not the place. Also, there are bears in the area so be aware of that. I took this photo of a good sized black bear when I was there today.

Greenough is Missoulas best stroll through nature on a time budget. The creek keeps it more vibrant year round than the hillsides and there is always small animal life to be spotted. If you only have an hour or so to get out, this is a great option.

Amazing today. A ton of fluff from the trees made it seem like a snowstorm in summer. Plenty of unopened buds, so I bet next week it will be even more gorgeous.

Nice green space near downtown Missoula, with paved and dirt paths to travel and explore. My kids live picking up sticks and rocks to throw in the river from bridges. A lot of the dirt paths were under water today at high floodwater levels, but we went around where we could and got a little muddy. Theres a playground and pavilion a little toward the north end on Monroe St. Parking is off street from Monroe St. Or walk from downtown under the freeway at the far south tip of the trail/park.

Absolutely love this park! You feel like youre in the middle of the woods but youre right in the middle of town. You have the river and a creek running parallel through the park. Many places to sit and listen or throw stones. Different walking paths either paved or trail style. A big Pavilion and playground at the main entrance makes for a great place to have birthday parties or family events.

Love walking through greenough park. Been doing it since I was a child. Great place to get away but not have to drive far out of the city. You can walk your dog and take the kids there to play. Its so beautiful during summer and fall. My husband and I even had our wedding invitation pictures took there. You can also ride your bike through there. Definitely would recommend for anyone if you need some nature and to clear your head.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go when I would be back in Montana visiting family. I remember playing in the park as a small child and the last thing we feared was being attacked by HUMANS. Bears, maybe... but never people. But now, women cant even walk in the park alone. There are so many assaults that go on there, its ridiculous. Not to mention the drug folk, who seem to have made the park their second home. You have to watch where you walk... or youll step on a needle. Its such a shame, really. It used to be such a beautiful and peaceful place. Its too bad the police wont do more to ensure the safety of its respectful visitors. More foot patrols of the trails would deter the criminal element.
