Open Saturday & Sunday 12-5 (fall & winter). $3 donation desired. Plenty of free parking all around (note that the park entry drive is narrow). There are two buildings. Plan on 1 hour. It is a military museum (from the 1765 Stamp Act to Desert Storm) with lots of stand-alone/ somewhat disjointed readings. Theres a LOT of material. If you are a reader, or interested in Military history, this could very easily be a 6 hour experience.
One of the best of its size Ive seen any where! Great utilization of WWII era building, great displays and creeky floors only add to the experience. The museum is never crowded (unfortunately, and generally not even a constant stream of visitors) so you are left in the quiet with your thoughts to contemplate the artifacts.
Youre planning a trip take on an extra couple days to just stroll through great place to spend the day have a picnic
Great little military museum at Ft. Missoula. They were closed, but when I called to check their hours, the volunteer who answered offered to meet us and open the museum.
Always an interesting visit
