A very interesting Park. Like other reviewers have stated there are more law enforcement officers here than visitors. You can see that Mexican side of the Border clearly and two floating dry docks Mark the international boundary. Expect to see fast Department of Public Safety boats intervening when craft attempt to cross the line. Did not see much in the way of wildlife but there are several playgrounds for kids and a boat dock plenty of people fishing lots of tables and grills. Plenty of public restrooms.

Beautiful park on the river! It would be nice to have a few more signs giving directions to the entrance of the park. Its a great place to have a family picnic or do some shore fishing.

Nice place. Very clean. Great picnic spots with really nice grills. They have fishing and you can bring non-motor boats. The birds were good. Over case day but we took 4 different species picture. Even meet 5 young Canadian birders.

Love this place. A large grassy park with lots of old oak trees and picnic tables right on the river. Great for families. Good birding.

Took a group of birders there in a charter bus. Entrance is narrow. They were not planning for large vehicles when they built that entrance. Kind of crazy. Have to drive onto a narrow dike then a sharp left into park.

It was a fun and relaxing place untill a Constable there started harassing me and my uncle every time we go. Border patrol stopped me and asked me for my Id when I committed no crime and said I wasnt a US citizen. He also threatened to get my truck towed if I didnt exit my vehicle for an illegal search. the park is nice but the constable and border patrols there ruined the fun.

This is a very pretty park with picnic and fishing areas and gorgeous views of the Rio Grande. Mexico is only a Stoneys throw away and there is a Reynosa, Mexico park on the opposite side of the river. The park is a staging area for Border Patrol boats and personnel so there is always a very heavy law enforcement presence, making it one of the safest spots on the border.

I remember there being a whole lot more trees here than I saw today. Perhaps the storm that went by here a few years ago felled many trees? During our visit we saw many county employees, a Constable and 3 border patrol vehicles, so dont even worry about Mexicans trying to cross the Rio Grande River here! The grounds are well kept but the paving needs a bit of attention in certain areas. Overall its a good little park, but it used to be even better.

Cool for the novelty of being south of Mexico. But the bustling activity on the Mexican side of the river...families, picknicking, watersports...makes the desolation of this park (apparently the consequence of recent over-zealous policing by federal and state agencies) all the more palpable. We encountered few people aside from a golf cart-riding constable who warned us to slow down and two bored-looking border agents. Sadly, we missed the big gun boat. The park is fairly pleasant and provides a scenic view of the river. Something needs to be done to bring visitors back.

Nice park with BBQ pits and picnic tables. There are some dated swing sets and restrooms as well. Nice view of the Rio a Grande River with plenty of birds.

Dry and arid riverside county park inhabited by more border patrol vehicles than wildlife or families. This park is the skeletal remains of a immigration policy gone wild. Used to be a verdant and vibrant park 20 years ago where boy scouts, boating, and barbecues abounded.

Great birding site! Got my best picture of a Vermilion Flycatcher yet there. Its right at the border but there are Border Guards everywhere, so we felt safe. Very well-kept grounss.
