The Mission Theatre

We had our wedding here and it was great!! A beautiful venue. The venue coordinator is very sweet and helpful and made our day easy. They had great precautionary measures for COVID-19. The owners came and met us and they were very nice.

Such a cool space! Looking for a venue with character, well managed and in a great location? Look no further! We have done so many events in this space and always impressed! We highly recommend!

Staff was attentive. Food was excellent. Very clean facility & restroom.

Fantastic venue. Staff was incredible to work with. Great space and bar. The bridal and groom suites were very clean with plenty of space to get ready.

Some of the most friendly people. Godly focused and filled with the Spirt. I always feel so welcome when I am in Church at the Mission theater.

Beautifully finished. Attended a concert there, room was lite to add color to a simple and elegant space.

We have had photo booths at a few events here and this is our favorite wedding venue in KC! Theres a great vintage aesthetic and the people that run it are top notch. Highly recommend.

Very Beautiful

I was here as an assistant photographer for a wedding and this space is simply gorgeous. All the little touches and finishes give this place a Art Deco, modern glam feel to it.Lots of functional space and good lighting in the bridal suites.Parking was off site but not hard to access on the weekend, as many spots were available on the same block.Staff was super friendly and love that it had the bar built in.Absolutely love the front of the building and they even have a place for you to make your own movie poster sized signs. Again, loved all the little touches and features.Definitely keeping this venue in mind for any future events!

The Mission theater is a nice place to hold a special event. It is a small venue that can accommodate small to medium size groups.It is fun to be in the center of Mission businesses on Johnson drive. It is easy to go out after the event and visit a bar or a restaurant.

Very cool place. historic. renovated. nice neighborhood. my friends go to church at this theater. I cant speak to the service because I dont attend church.

Alexa is seriously a rockstar! She is a great asset to the Mission Theatre team! She definitely saved the day at our wedding by going to multiple stores to find a sewing kit when my husband ripped his pants! :) We absolutely loved working with everyone at the Mission Theatre, including the fabulous owners. Alexa stayed in contact and kept us updated every step of the way. Her amazing communication skills made this the absolute easiest interaction with any of our vendors throughout the entire wedding planning process. I loved everything about it so much that I wish I could do it all over again! Our guests raved about the newly renovated space and how beautiful and clean it was. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

I attended the Grand Opening of The Mission Theatre and it was absolutely beautiful. All of the different rooms were so exquisite, the ball room was enormous and fancy, and the bar area looked so pristine. One of my favorite parts were the huge chandeliers and the man cave up stairs.But that only captures the appearance of the Theatre. I also met the new owners, Kip and Kris Unruh and they were so nice! They were both understanding and encouraging to me as I was exploring this new place. The event coordinator, Alexa was keen to my needs/wants for an event space and was so quick in returning my phone calls/emails!!! Such personable staff!I would highly recommend The Mission Theatre to anyone planning an event!

I recently photographed an event at the newly renovated, managed and owned Mission Threatre and could not be more impressed with EVERYTHING about this venue. The theatre is gorgeous from corner to corner with high quality touches and versatile personality. The owners and associates are professional, kind, and on top of the needs of their customers. I cant wait for couples getting married to realize this gem of a space is here and available to them. They will love the elegant and roomy brides suite as well as the classic & fun grooms room....and not to mention the staircase, chandeliers, and bar! Top notch!

Im so happy to see The Mission Theatre completely renovated and reimagined by Main Street Events. They have poured love and care in to the rejuvenation of this historic space and made it a gem once again. I lived in Roeland Park, just down the street, for 4 years, and am so happy to see this area being renewed by people like Kip & Kris who have spared no detail in the renovation of this beautiful building. I cant wait to attend a wedding in the new space!
