Havent played this course for a long time and was very pleased to see how nice the condition of the course is in. The staff was also first rate. Very friendly and very helpful.
This is a very fun, very affordable, especially if your a senior, playing at twilight. Did I mention the greens are in really good shape! Stay in the fairways, and on the greens, and youll be very pleased! Great fun.
Im a 40+ year resident of Mission Viejo and almost that long a regular at what is now Oso Creek Golf Course. Im extremely impressed with what the city has done and what they are continuing to do relative to enhancing both the landscape and the clubhouse and lounge. Keep up the good work City Council... we are all very much appreciative of your efforts to keep Mission Viejo as a city were proud to live in.
I do NOT recommend this course to anyone. The course itself is beautiful and fun if you can get passed being treated poorly by a staff comprised of snobby individuals who lack a sense of quality customer service....A group of friends and myself made a visit and was taken back by how abrupt, rude, and unfriendly the staff treated their guests. I didn’t think much of it seeing that the staff was comprised of young teenage kids. My second visit about 2 weeks later was again very disappointing. The staff once again was rude, very short, and unfriendly toward myself and other guests.I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone who is seeking an exceptional customer service experience. From my observation, the staff was short handed in regards to having a mature management team. As a long time resident and home owner of Mission Viejo, Casa Del Sol did not embody the friendly community environment that myself and fellow residents are use to here in our city.Myself and many others would only consider visiting again when the staff hires mature individuals who are focused on providing excellent customer service.Hope the recommendation helps in some way.Cheers!
Fun course! Executive course, so just Par 3s & 4s. Course layout is cool. Greens arent too fast but they have good challenging greens on many of the holes. We just played, 4 of us, on a Sunday @12;30 which is prime time for golf courses -- and islt was Busy! But we still finished at 4 hours. About 4 hours 10 mins to be exact. The course is definitely worth checking out!
Really enjoyed golfing here. Totally relaxing. The holes are obviously on the shorter side(no par 5s) and the course is fairly well maintained. The best part of all is pretty much the low cost to play. I also enjoyed that they had a proper beer selection. Ill be playing a round here every time Im in the area.
Great time today, first time back in a couple of years, lots of changes going on with new ownership and corona virus requirements, the price is right for seniors like myself($26.00),great course to learn the game, work on your game or simplifying have fun,we will be back soon!!!!
Its getting better than before, still over price. To bad they dont accept tpc cards anymore.
Great value for your buck. Plays fast if you tee off early.
This place is a joke. If you go there as a single they have no waiting list. They never heard of a wait list. They said if someone didnt show they would call me minwhile two someones were going out. Never going there again.
This is a relaxed, no bells or whistles, low stress 18 hole course with good greens and sand traps. Its a very manageable course at a good price. That is why its 4 stars. Nicely nestled in a small residential canyon of Mission Viejo.
The people running this course are flakes. We were struck by a golf ball while driving down a busy adjacent public street causing $1200 damage to our car. The course management just blew us off saying they had no responsibility and it was the golfer who was at fault. We have no way of figuring out who that is and the course would not lift a finger to assist.A very convenient policy, unless you are the victim.
Greens are looking great.nice and green now.
Really fun par 3 course. Get on the players club for an excellent deal in the afternoon!
Great place for beginners, flat fairway and comparatively easy putting green also short course length.Friendly environment and staffs make the plus.
This is a fun course for sharpening up your short game and hitting some par 4s in regulation. Greens are in good shape and fairways are ok.
Fun little short course, that moves at a slower pace. Great for newer golfers. Casta del Sol has great staff, that is always very accommodating.
Terrible customer service. Made a tee time with Ed, show up to the course and he made the time for the next day. No other times available that day. I will make sure to take my business elsewhere.
Great deal for Players Club members. $19 includes Green fees, cart and drink. Play wasnt slow but it took 4 hours to finish 18 holes.
This used to be a very nice course, but lack of care left me disappointed. Fairways are sparse and not defined, green were in decent shape for being punched 3 weeks ago. There was lots of trimmings scattered and not collected. Not as nice as I remember.
Set a tee time for 5:20 and didn’t get on until 6. Then each hole was backed up because of poor organization. High key suggest paying 10$ more for a much better course like San Juan. Used to be fun course but not anymore
Nice place for short game work and iron approach shots but leave your driver at home because its only useful on maybe one or two holes at most (6 & 9)- even then you are better off with hybrid or 5 wood.Of course we are talking about those regularly drive 250 yards or more but then you are likely to be too close to the green which will put a premium on chipping on tight lies
Very nice course to play. They also have a nice bar that was just remodeled. Food is good, try one of their salads.
Course is great, great staff.
For a smaller cheaper executive course this place is not too bad the wait time usually is not terrible and the course is decently maintained whole layout is fun and challenging you’ll need your driver on some holes but not every hole it’s more about your short in approach game then it is smashing long drives are use it as my local practice course to warm up before tournaments or a round at a full course
This rating is strictly for the restaurant. Service was marginal for the short time were there. The place was not busy, but the wait for service was lengthy. We ordered rare prime rib. The first time it was medium well; the second time it was well done. We asked for the check to pay for the salads so we could leave. The manager finally came over, said there was no charge, and offered to make us something else from the menu to go, on the house. We did thank him, but due to time constraints had to leave.
This is my favorite course in Mission Viejo. Its not too challenging and fun.
Affordable if youre a part of the players club. Beautiful course except for some unkept parts. Also some of the staff in the clubhouse can be rude...
Great hospitality
Good time!
Nice excutive golf course. Only 1 draw back, they do not have a driving range.
Good course for practicing, the fees are not bad, and the course is maintained well. Grouping can get tight and there is no recourse for rude groups behind you.
Nice course! Short but ... Nice.
My dad flew in a couple months ago from London and likes to grab a game or two when hes in the states. We shot 18 holes, grabbed some lunch and had a great time. Hot dog cart was great. Spicy dogs were amazing and the carts were new/clean. Thanks for a fun time.
Really enjoy this course. Always in great shape and lots of fun
Quiet spot with outside patio overlooking golf course or inside bar lounge and dining room. Nice and friendly people serving many of the classic favorites with generous portions at reasonable prices.
Fun little course for not a lot of money. It does back up and play slow at times.
The course was in good shape, and the play was good also. But the desk service was TERRIBLE! It took the guy in the pro shop 21 minutes to accept payment from 4 players. It took 4 minutes for the computer to warm up (his words). And he did not just take payment. He had to ask name, city, ZIP code, etc., and enter it all into the computer, even for people who had confirmed prior tee times!!! (And why ask both city and ZIP? If you know ZIP, you know city!) . The whole process was frustrating in the extreme, and the guy behind the desk was in no hurry to go fast or make it any more efficient. Moreover, the clubhouse was not air-conditioned, and I sweated as I waited. Final straw: they gave out two prior reservations for the exact same tee time (7:00 am). What the what???
Greens are always in good shape and the holes are accomodating to all levels of golfers... very reasonably priced and rarely crowded.. you can also walk the course if desired
I love this course. For an executive course it does have some challenging holes. The course overall is kept up very well and the greens are always nice. However, the Marshalls could do a better job on keeping people moving. Too many times there have been 5 players - and once 6 players on the tees ahead of us. This type of course should only take a few hours to play.....not several.Overall, if you like a nice little course and have the time to play...I highly recommend this course.
Nice little public course in Mission Viejo. Only about 3800 yards from the tips so dont get too excited. Only real gripe is the pace can be SLOW. Still a great local course and the rates are good.
Decent short course with good greens.
Great course, but every put just grazed the hole. Ugh!!!!
Great course, I golf there once a week. A little shorter than some, no par 5s. But very challenging and great way to tone your short game. And reasonably priced.
Visited 3 years ago and had an amazing dinner party after my wedding
Excellent course with senior
It is what it is. It is not the nicest golf course, but if you are a beginner or intimidated by other golfers, this is the place for you. I thought I was a bad golfer until I saw some of the others who were playing too. That isnt a knock on the other golfers, it was more a comment to let the beginners know that they dont have to feel self conscious as there are a lot of beginners there. The course is actually pretty decent too. I love this place. Prices are great too. 9th hole beer deals are awesome too
Nice executive course. Greens, fairways and bunkers all in good shape. Does anyone in Orange County repair ball marks on the green or rake a bunker?
My buddies & i golf the back 9, usually early Friday mornings ! Its a good practice course !
Great little course that challenges all your shots. Amazing deal for the money!!
Wonderful course to play at.
Unbeatable for the price, quality and condition for an Executive 18 hole course. But dont tell anyone, I hate waiting !!
Great place for players who wants to transition into long courses. 6 par 4 and the rest par 3. Friendly staff and great specials. Can play slow so dont expect to speed through. If speed is a concern, get a country club membership somewhere.
I love this golf course, always nice staff and we meet nice people every time we play there, its great!
Cold and windy as I have experienced in sometime but had a great time with my son and his friend. Thanks!
Pretty good executive course. Most players are beginners so no need to worry about a group catching up to you.
Convenient exec course. Carts could be kept cleaner. Fairway in pretty poor shape. Greens better.
Great day with my son.
Love this course! Great little executive. Can be slow at times. No driving range. Putting green is decent.
PERFECT Exucutive GC in heart of South orange county. Tight & plush greens. Pretty canyon and GREAT 4 beginners or just 2 get out 2 nearest track.
Good play for the money. Executive course so good for quick play
Golf now had a better deal than buying from the starter. I liked the personal and the course is in good shape.
Great par 3 practice course, definitely seeing a better staff these days...
Overall this is a good place. Waiting Tee Time is always long when my friends and I go there.
Great course for the senior golfer. Well maintained, excellent staff and inexpensive.
Played on Sat. 11/3/12. Greens were good, fairways kind of beat up. I like the course. Sat. was the slowest round I have ever played at CDS. Took almost 6 hours to play. One of our players had to leave after 9. I expected about 4 hours but it was packed. Nice day and fun golf but very slow that day. Had to wait on virtually every single shot. I usually finish in under 4 hours easily. Great course for the price though.
Short course but great fun for a weekend tee time. It can be slow but its worth the wait.
This is the best golf course for the price. It’s perfect for after work. I never played on the weekends, but after 5 I get in some holes.
Admittedly this is not the most well maintained course but the VALUE is impossible to beat. Twilight with cart for less than 20 bucks?? Got 15 holes in! You cant beat that. Such a good starter/practixe course.
Greens r immaculate. Fast and hard to read.
Fun little course. Only 3600 yds or so.
Been going here for years. Prices cant be beaten anywhere in South OC. Friendly place for kids. Hot dogs are fantastic.
Great course with good grass. I also think they have great rates.
Great deal. Challenging course for me. Hot dogs there are tasty.
Very beautiful warm day for late December. I was very impressed with the condition of the Course. Very fast greens and the breaks were more true than ever!
Absolutely beautiful day for golf!
Great place to golf and eat and have a drink
I appreciate this being an affordable course in an unaffordable area, but the staff has never treated me well in years of playing here. The course is okay, never very impressive, and it is often packed to the brim with tee times.
Horrible customer service behind the counter of the pro shop, the old lady behind the counter was more rude then my grandmother on her worst days. I wont take that type of attitude. Course double booked my tee time, so golfnow charged me an extra tee time on top of my original to compensate. I then had to pay in full for the extra round because she reported i didnt show up for my tee time, yet i played all 18. You literally cant book two tee times at the same time. So i know i didnt book 8 people. BECAUSE YOU CANT. Never going back. Course was whatever. Ill stick to mini golf before this dump hole
Great round. Good times. Tucked away in the hills. Greens in great shape
Nice little executive course. Some occasional par fours mixed in with the par threes.
Great deal for.the price. Replay for only 10 bucks if you can handle 36 holes
Course is good for Par 3s and 4s. Par 3 are long. Course is VERY slow though
Played on 11/20 with my granddaughter. Enjoyed the course but the round took just under 5 hours. Waited 22 minutes on the second tee.
Its a good small course to play a quick 18 holes.
Usually the course is very slow on Sunday afternoons but not bad yesterday!
So easy to use even ME can follow direction without going touring
Course Id in great shape. $$ value!
I played on Saturday 11/24/2012 after 2:00 pm. I was packed with beginners and the play was the slowest Ive ever seen. Also, some kids at the apartments on the tee box for hole 7 was shouting profanities at the players as the teed off. I was hoping to play about 13 or 14 holes, but left after 9. :(
It was very cool!
Nice Executive course. Fun to play.
Little slower than usual. Three 5somes in front of us. However, it was a nice day for golf
