When the house is open on summer weekends, it is worthwhile to stop by and have a little walk inside. It was the first house built in Minneapolis, in todays downtown, small but nice. After new houses overshadowed it, a public initiative managed to move the house to its current place, using the help of hundred Minneapolis school children (which is described in the exhibition inside the house).
Ummmm... some people in the review section, why did you give a one-star just bc the place is not open??? I love this pretty house, so cute from the outside, def a good spot for photo too! It doesnt matter if its closed. At least it is a historical house that is much prettier than most buildings nowadays!
Nice little tour run by some dedicated and passionate people. If this is open when you stop by, its worth a peek.
Apparently it is the real house and it had been moved from the original location to here, in the park.
History
This was the first house built in Minneapolis back in 1850.
Nice part of the Minnehaha Regional Park!
