This place is absolutely incredible. There was an impressive amount of art and variety, and I would recommend this stop to anyone. It was fun, political, and community oriented while still being completely unique. Allen the artist was kind, welcoming, and ridiculously talented! Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Been meaning to come here for years and finally made it! Loved all of the art Allen has made. There were giant sculptures, found object art, metal work, and more! He is beyond artistic, creative and amazing. Going through the secret door to the back part was fun too. His dog was very friendly which always gets extra points with me. This is a must go to place to see

I discovered House of Balls by accident (as if such things exist), during a journey through my heart and head that led me right to where I needed to be. I was able to speak with the Allen briefly and the words were as I needed as well. There is a magic in this man and his work. I suggest that you visit, should the path present itself.

I visited the House of Balls recently for the first time and absolutely loved it. The amount of love that went into crafting the studio is absolutely amazing. Its surreal to be walking around an artists studio admiring all of their amazing sculptures while the artist himself is behind you hammering away at his next creation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, Im definitely going again in the future.

I actually haven’t been in the House of Balls — yet — but have always admired the building and all the cool things I could see in the yard (which is usually at night when waiting for a train.)I wasn’t sure what this place was until I just looked it up (and having snapped a few pictures the other day.)Judging by the great things others have written, I look forward to stopping by during their “open for business” hours. To the owners: Thank you for the great energy I always feel from you being located where you are — it’s very appreciated and needed!

So much more than balls...Although what this artist does with bowling balls is truly unique. Pop by and admire the multitude of artistic creations made with a variety of media such as piano pieces, wire, and metal. Absolutely worth the visit! Access from freeway is easy off/easy on.

Great place! If you are into art, or even if youre not, and just want to add some variety to your day or adventure, this is a great place to stop. The owner is a great guy and accommodating. It is free but you can also make donations, either way it is well worth your time.

Perfect folk art experience. Really enjoyed the chance to chat with Allen about his techniques and process and the evolution of some of his largest pieces.Great way to introduce kids to art and the beauty of found objects, but more conservative parents should be aware that phalluses and the nude form overall is a frequent subject in these works - as with a lot of art. Nothing graphic, but FYI.

This place was awesome. So many cool sculptures and art pieces. All free and interactive. Learning about the second half of the place was probably the coolest part. Just go and check it out. The guy that builds it all and runs it is really nice.

The weirdest, craziest, artiest, most creepy, inspiring spot in Minneapolis! Go. Bring your Father-in-law. Bring your out of town guests. Go by yourself and talk to the artist! Its satirical, its scary, its political, its downright fun for anyone with an imagination!!!You wont soon forget the House of Balls, and neither will your friends!!

Very small, very hidden behind the train tracks. It is unique and interesting if you are into counter culture and modern art. A lot of interesting ways of looking at every day objects, but some things are pretty weird. Best part is its free!
