I like the laid back environment!Live musician were very experienced. And musicians was talented and very entertaining.I would definitely go back again!Which Ive done quite a few times already!Drinks were unique tasty & prices were competitive to other bars if not a little more reasonable.Servers were nice fast & friendly even though it was almost full house!I have & would definitely go again also would take a guest with me as well!If on a date. Your date wont be disappointed! Thanks everyone for your kind speedy friendly services!I would and have definitely go back again!
While oddly shaped, this is an excellent venue for jazz in Milwaukee. If I could afford to, Id visit the Estate every night. Ive seen so many incredible musicians here. And the barkeeps mix some superb drinks. Get here at your earliest convenience for a proper old fashioned and some slick music.
If you are looking for New Orleans type of Jazz, this isnt the place but thats besides the point. This place is a chill out, hole in the wall, vibe place. Great atmosphere, everyone in their own world. You can relax here. Space is sort of small, a little crowded, but not uncomfortable. Jazz is more blues like than jazzy, in my opinion, but still great music and bands.
Absolutely love this place for Jazz my first visit! The room was cool. Waitress was amazing always keeps your water full thank you. Love that touch. But last Saturday the 21st the jazz group from Madison one of the worst. The music was not right and the lead player talked too much. (About he’s banking account, Really) Also they started 20 min late played for 45 min and took a 50 min break. When I mentioned this to the bouncer. He was blown away. I’m giving this a 3 stars because the Jazz Estate and employees are awesome. If you go the team of people working there are extremely friendly! But the person that lines up the acts needs to do better job vetting the performers!
The Jazz Estate has a selection of tasty drinks from specialty and traditional cocktails to hard liquors. The bands that play are excellent and so much fun. The main downside is how small the venue is. For seats, you need to arrive early (think 30-45 minutes minimum for well-known acts); otherwise, its standing room only if you get in at all. This may not be true for all bands but certainly the most reputable such as Cigarette Break.
This place was great!!! The atmosphere was magical! The staff was very friendly! The stage was very small so you feel like you are right there with the band, which is awesome! There were candles on every table, which only adds to the mystical atmosphere! Great patio to relax on, also! I highly recommend that you check this place out!!!
Had such an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and fun and so was the clientele. Love the vibe and open mic night was so enjoyable. Will be back
It is one of few places in town that offers live music. I would say the space is limited so it is generally not a place if your group is more than 4 people. Also music is laud so if you want to have a conversation, pick another place. This a great place for a jazz lover with a taste for great drinks.
This a cool little spot with a great vibe. The sound is good and has nice site lines for the bands. Drink menu is a big expensive but the cocktails are very tasty. The do have reasonable selection of beers for the more fugral. Staff was friendly and effecient. Id arrive early if you wanted a seat. The place is not overly large. Highly recommend it for the music lover.
We went back in early December for A Charlie Brown Christmas. The show was sold out, jammed packed. Sat at the bar for the show. There was one bartender, one runner for tables. Staff issues, no one was willing to pick up extra hours. The one bartender did an outstanding job, Ive never seen a bartender hustle like he did. Wish I wouldve gotten his name for recognition.
An institution committed to the genre with established and blossoming talent. Small but intimate and when it is good, there is no better place to be.
I enjoy coming here so much. Jeff Kinder has such a nice smile, and whips up the greatest darn cocktails. I asked for a cocktail based on a classic and he delivered, you betcha.
Excellent cocktails. Decided not to drink alcohol for Heath reasons and they even had a great selection for me. Homemade horchatta makes all the difference which they make in house.
It’s really cool that a place like this exists in Milwaukee. It’s a small place, but super lively. We went on a Monday jam night and it was so cool to see people just come up and play along with people they had never met before. It’s a lot of fun!
This is a comfortable small intimate place to listen to music. The drinks were very ewell made and the service efficient but nonobstrusive. The band was fabulous. It was filled up and we got the last seats at 8 pm so come earlier
Love the vibe of this place. Great drinks menu including a creative non alcoholic drinks list, other than the usual generic soda, or juice. One of the few places in Milwaukee that has a lovely cozy atmosphere with great music and service. Very comfortable seating. Such a nice break from the usual uncomfortable chrome and steel with cafeteria chair type of places found everywhere else in Milwaukee.
Tasty original drink recipes and great music.
Super nice bartender who made me the perfect martini and the most wonderful holiday music.
Comfy setting. Good music. Stellar drinks. Thanks Jazz Estate for a great date night.
Good music. Good cocktails. Not a ton of space, (which honestly is a good thing).
Fabulous atmosphere, fabulous wait staff. Went by myself and felt very comfortable. Very talented musicians, cover charge isnt too wild.
Love this place. Intimate, classy, have always enjoyed the music, and the mixed drinks are super scrumptious.
I truly enjoyed my first time visiting. The band Cigarette Break was amazing! I cant wait to hear them again. Plan to definately be visiting The Jazz Estate again in the future.
I have been there several times and always enjoyed it. It is an intimate setting with small tables near the musicians that can sometimes be reserved in advance. There is also seating off to the side at tables, and there is seating at the bar. The cocktail waitresses are attentive and pleasant. Music has always been good. Last week was an excellent trio of piano, upright bass and drums, and all three had impressive credentials and great talent.
Great intimate venue for music. Terrific cocktails.
The band we saw was phenomenal, great atmosphere and good cocktails
A homey bar for a laid-back night
Imagine taking responsibility for a MKE cultural institution like The Estate and manage to preserve and improve it. Thats what the new owner has accomplished here. Extraordinary talent at the bar, at service, and on stage. Intimate and raucous at the same time. Comeback morphs seamlessly with go forward.
The music was fantastic...Robin Reese and Cigarette Band did an amazing job...the drinks were on point and the staff was friendly...I will return ️
Im new to the neighborhood, and I was SO excited to find a jazz bar open 7 days a week! The Jazz Estate Manhattan was delicious, the entertainment top notch.
One of the best spots in Milwaukee, great music and excellent cocktails
Its kinda of a hidden treasure kind of places. Its very cozy and small. The bar seating is very very VERY comfortable and I enjoyed the bar although Im usually a table person. Bartender is a great man and very friendly. They play live music so check their website for more details about that. I would definitely come again.
Love intimate space w/artist. Great service, good showcase. Sacred space.
My experience was fantastic! The estate is an awesome club with excellent staff. Truly an experience in jazz listening!
I really enjoyed the outing and ran into a number of long-time friends and associates. The Cigarette Break band had a great sound. Thoroughly enjoyed the venue, staff and the crowd. Great ambiance. Looking forward to another stress-relieving get away. @StressReliefCandles
Great hidden gem. Off the beaten path. Super cool vibe. Lounge almost speakeasy atmosphere. Great handcrafted cocktails. Sweet jazz music. Well worth a visit.
Great location for live music. Its an intimate space with great acoustics! The staff is friendly and inviting. The bartenders are skilled and can make any drink they have the ingredients for. I am a big fan of their Manhattan. They make it to order just the way I like. Find your way to the Jazz Estate for a particular artist or if you just want to chill. This place will not disappoint!
The staff is great! The music is great! And there is absolutely nothing not to like about this place!
Awesome place, good live music, tasty cocktails
Delightful evening listening to Charlie Brown Christmas! Good music, good drinks, good company. A very merry Christmas all around
Welcoming & intimate atmosphere to enjoy very talented musicians.
Went on a Saturday to watched Jesse Montigo on the saxophone and it was an amazing jam session
Cover charge of 10 dollars to get into a place with almost no seating. We (a group of 4) block the stairs and the bathroom before a table was available. I mean this place was PACKED! But once we were seated, it instantly became the best place Ive been to in a while. Live jazz performers, amazing drinks (a purple moon and a Ramos gin fizz), and very attentive service. Overall its a fairly homey space and a great place to spend a few hours.
Tight Intimate space. Wait staff was very kind.
Some of the best cocktails and music youll find anywhere in Milwaukee. All beautifully done by friendly, knowledgeable staff
Great music and homemade eggnog was a treat!!
Too stuffy. Not an atmosphere for someone who wants to come in and casually listen to jazz.
Swanky and entertaining! Drinks are amazing and the atmosphere was eccentric.
It was surprisingly nice! More of a different jazz sound but it was nice. Kinda reminds me of a Frank Sinatra type of place
I loved it. Super cool space, fantastic drinks, and remarkably good music. During my visit, the trio onstage brought up one of their friends to rap over their music! Just remember there may be a cover some nights, especially on the weekend...
Nice old school jazz club. Good music. Small, intimate vibe. Really enjoyed our visit and plan on coming back again in the future!
Great music, excellant drinks
Been here 4 times, sometimes its great- has a nice crowd and quick service, other times Ive waited over 20 minutes for a drink. The drinks are really good though, worth the price and sometimes worth the wait
Awesome music. Awesome drinks, the bands are amazing!! Kate is amazing by the way (with the gauges) She will mix you up an amazing concoction and youll be satisfied!! The bodyguard Frank is amazing. You feel so safe and so comfortable, definitely will he back again!! (:
Warm inviting place for cocktails and live entertainment almost every night of the week. Great vibe.
Great venue, awesome bar staff
Absolutely love this place. Music every night, craft cocktails. Charlie Brown Christmas show always sells out and is always a joy.
Wonderful music and great drinks!!
Great jazz, great drinks... whats not to love?
Great atmosphere! Nice and laid back. Awesome performance!
A real La la land in Milwaukee. Dim light setting and cozy atmosphere really makes this place seem like its straight out of a movie. Drink selection is decent, and having table service is great given the size of the bar and the wait it can take to order a drink. Interesting layout but works quite well as every spot offers a view of the stage. With that in mind the fact that everything is so close together really provides the classic intimate jazz club vive. Biggest drawback is lack of seating, but get there early enough and its usually not an issue....
Reasonably priced drinks, great live music
Nice place. Great music. My apologies to any musician.Cold Wisco night. Closing time. We ordered an Uber. They wouldnt let us stand inside for 15 minutes until the ride came.15 minutes. I showed them my phone. Asked to speak to the Manager. They told us to leave. Luckily there is a market across the street that was happy to let us come in.Perhaps the Jazz Estate could be a little nicer.Checked the law, Owner who responded. Assuming you have a class B license, you can stay open until 2:30. Seems you choose to close a little earlier. I did not look at the clock, but according to my Uber receipt we were picked up at 2:15. So, you could have let my girlfriend stay warm. Or, you could have explained what you thought was the law, and I likely would never have looked it up, and would not have posted a bad review. The smart thing is to just apologize, say you will be kinder to others in the future and educate your staff, and I would be happy to take down my negative review.Regards,John Black Sr(My apologies for originally calling the folks awful people. I should not have. I amended to suggest perhaps they could be kinder.)
This place has become one of my favorite spots around town. Funk night is always a lot of fun, music is energetic, drinks are tasty and service is great. They have music most nights of the week, I usually check their Facebook page for events. Great variety of live music from Open Mic nights, salsa Jam sessions, Jazz trios and quartets, and funk.
The mixed drink was as billed, well made. The atmosphere was about what I expected. The night I was there was a new orleans-style Brass Band a little loud but that is to be expected. Overall a good experience
great customer service and I love the ambiance
The owner of Bryants has created yet another great hangout.Arrive early at The Jazz Estate to get a great seat. The establishment is small and fills up quickly during peak hours. The cocktail menu has a nice selection of theme based drinks. I and my companions had the Bryants Old Fashioned and the Jazz Estate Old Fashioned. The Bryants is a classic. I personally recommend it sour, but the sweet is also good according to my friends. I personally recommend the Jazz Estate Old Fashioned. It is strong and well-priced considering you are in the heart of the Milwaukee East Side. The lighting is dim, the music fits well, the staff is attentive and friendly. The decor is very fitting of a jazz club: luxurious and classy. Bonus, the bathrooms are clean. This is a great place to go if you dont want the night to end, and want to talk with friends while sitting in a cool looking place with a great drink.
Great waitress, great music, fun time
Came for live music and was not disappointed! It was busy, quiet enough for a conversation. Table service was great, cocktails were even better. Great for a nice night out after dinner.
Great music, drinks and staff
I had the heart leaf cocktail and it was so on point. Jevin while being charming and easy on the eyes, makes some delicious cocktails. Flavors are complex, well thought out and executed perfectly. The atmosphere is warm, seductive and sets a mood. This will be my go to sophisticated treat yo self place.
Dimly lit, intimate live music in a small space. Very impressed with the performance by the Mitch Shiner Trio. Drinks are well priced and staff is friendly and helpful. A great place to spend a laid back evening.
The crowd was wild & the band was great! It was a very interactive group...I believe everyone had a (GREAT) night...I did...
Love the vibe - the Mrs. Fun Wayne shorter cover was fantastic. Looking forward to spending lots of time here!
Ridiculous. Will never be back. Huge fail. At max capacity 15 minutes after opening. I’m guessing we didn’t meet the right “requirements” to enter. If I could give zero stars I would.
Hands down, Best jazz club in Milwaukee!! The Estate hosts the best musicians in the Midwest & the vibe is great! Dont question going.. just go! Youll be glad you did!!
Im always casually looking for jazz venues. So far Ive been to Gibraltar and here. The decor is very appropriately themed--dark yet inviting. There have been a few times Ive come here and could barely get through the door. It gets very busy and its a very small place with limited seating especially for larger parties. Get here before 7 if you want to sit. The drink selection is great--they definitely focus on cocktails which average around $10. The service has struck me a bit negatively multiple times Ive been here, but the musicians they bring in are great and thats the whole point for me.
Really good music, great staff and bartenders, cool vintage vibe. One of the best music venues in the city!
Definitely a nice spot but barely any seating. If you wanna visit you must go before 8pm otherwise youll be standing outside in line waiting to get in.
I went to Jazz Estate for the very first time and everyone was so very down to earth made me and my friend feel very welcomed even complemented me coming in and leaving on how I was dressed also told us to feel free to come back anytime and wished us safe travels home I had a wonderful time and I will return again and tell others
Great place to listen to live music
Always a great night.
The staff was awesome. The music was great, the owner monitored the sound from everywhere and adjusted it perfectly. Its a small venue the way it should be for great jazz and the drinks are affordable.
Ive been a patron for years, but absolutely love what the new owners have done with the place! Great drink menu and the music is fantastic!
Awesome time need to check out matc honnors ensembleable
Definition of a hole in the wall bar but a definite must visit in Milwaukee. First and third Mondays of the month are jam night with live Jazz music and a must attend. Drinking anything off the rail will get a little expensive really quick but with great service and experienced mixers you cant go wrong.
Its rare to find bars like this anymore. Great atmosphere, awesome cocktails, and live jazz music. Show up early if you want a table though.
First class jazz club. New Yorkers will feel right at home!! Musicians home!! Great job all around.
Nice Music.
