They had a fun family day we learned about everything from female bootleggers to what a monkey fur coat looks. Also we got to dine on vintage floats at a mock soda jerk stand.

We visit local historical museums all over the country as we travel but have never been here before. The building is impressive but sadly some of the lights were turned off and we could not see certain exhibits. More explanations are needed and better signage would help the visitor. Many exhibits were so low to the floor we were unable to see them.

Great place to learn about the citys past and your familys past. The people that work there were very friendly and helpful.

Its a very beautiful historic site with historical artifacts. The inside is absolutely beautiful with black and white marble walls, pillars, and gold detailing. It is very informative and interesting and does catch the attention of children. 7 dollars for adults and children 13 and under are free.

A good place to connect with local history. An affordable choice when visiting Milwaukee.

Me and my son went to the Milwaukee County Historical Society to donate a book that was written by a mayor from the early 1900 century. This book was written in 1910 a first edition and signed by the author. The staff seem to be very knowledgeable on this individual and was very grateful for our donation.

This small museum is wonderfully well curated. The $5 admission fee makes it a no excuses must see when youre in MKE.

Only takes a quick visit. Interesting exhibit. Ambience is very cool in this turn of the century bank. Its been restored including the vaults. Its a great walk in and quick visit museum. Recommended.

Another must-see if you are interested in history... In this case, the history of Milwaukee county.We stopped in during one of the excess stock sales and had a blast digging thru the old books, post cards and photos.What a blast from the past!

My wife and I went to the Historical Society for a wedding and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! The old bank vaults, marble floors, and high ceilings creates such an elegant space.

Just being able tI see this building having been brought back to the grandeur of its Victorian roots is a dream come true. At this time, its used mostly as a rented venue for weddings, parties, etc. And obviously they have to be smart about raising funds for the work necessary for the restoration. My hope is that eventually the venue will do more to attract the public and teach us about our rich history. Go see it. Its amazing.

A very relaxing and informative museum experience. Well worth the admission fee.

Definitely not worth $7. Half of the museum was about the local sports teams. Mostly just photos on the wall. The best part is the architecture of the building.

Very cool, old building. There was one featured display. Hardly worth the $7.00 admission, meter parking and the hassle of dealing with the downtown area.

Fun and very interesting current exhibit on professional sports history in MKE, with a bit of college sports on the side. Heavy (and excellent) on Braves baseball and others are covered as well. Worth a stop and consider a membership to support their telling of MKE’s past. ️

Phenomonal archives and collections with awesome staff.

Nice place to visit, but dont hold a wedding there because you cant hear a thing. The Acoustics are terrible.

Saw a very nice exhibit on Milwaukees Summer fest. The exhibit ended on September 28th.

Had a wonderful visit. Will visit more often.

Quality museum. I went on a Saturday morning and they were setting up for a wedding later in the day so didnt even charge me admission just asked me to consider making a donation.
