Decent theater for watching indian movies. Rustic theater feel. Very empty on weekdays so you can watch movie peacefully. Very basic snacks and restroom facilities. Enough leg room but seat may not be comfortable for large folks. Not comparable to other multiplex but decent.

3 and half stars. Good selection of Indian movies, especially after first week. Not super busy, decent seats and screens. Food options are adequate as well. Through Indian fare.

This place is not good as expected to USA standard theatre. We took coke i never seen such type of low quality coke, the coke was diluted with tap water that we could really cant even have a sip. Never recommend this theater even if the ticket price is less.

Bedbugs to spiderwebs. Go at your own risk to save few $s over the well maintained Freemont or Unioncity desi movie playing theaters

These theaters play only movies from South India - mostly Telugu. Have been to this place a few times now. It was never crowded during my visits. There are only two screens. Sound system is mostly on the loud side, but bearable. On cleanliness, I would say that it does appear to be cleaned between shows. Restrooms are a bit on stinky side. On snacks, there arent many options. I liked coffee here - has a bit of the flavor of South India. Overall it is passable for a 2 hour movie outing.

Good theater but with very congested seating and with very little leg space. Movie video and audio qualities are good. Moderately priced so to reach all types of viewrs without burdening much to their pockets. Reasonably good.

You will def feel like you are in India that too watching in old Indian movie theater. But if you really want to experience the movie, I suggest you not to go here. Here you will find tea, samosa which is awesome. Looked for onion samosa but was not available.

Sure no luxury sofas and fragrance of pop corn around. But just good enough to watch a movie and walk out. Other reviews look awful, i guess expectation mismatch!

They have shutdown the theater last night without playing a scheduled show. They dont even answer calls regarding show timings and sudden shutdowns

Disaster theatreUnhygienic, dirty, worst. I was shocked to see that such worse theatres are still there in a country like USA.I watched Lakshmi’s NTR. Very good movie. Please do watch it, but not in this theater. In interval I came out to buy some snacks, but there is only one person there and that person is sleeping.Worst theater.

Review №18

Sound quality poor. Seats are not comfortable. Snacks available are ok. On top of this, $14-16 a ticket is way too expensive. The only thing for which I am giving stars is for friendly and cooperative staff. I recommend this this theater as last option

Theater could do better with temperature control during summer. Place always feels hot inside. For some reason they like to cram people into few rows by assigning numbers. Opening seating should have been the default option.

Book here if its the only theatre that the movie has released in. The seating is horrible and the sound isnt Dolby surround. The overall experience would be you projecting a movie in your basement. Avoid if you can.NEEDS RENOVATION

Review №53

Strictly okay place to watch some hard-to-find South Indian movies. Not well maintained, and movies dont start on time. Maintenance is poor too!If you want to catch a Bollywood movie, go to AMC or Century instead. If you are looking for a South Indian movie - and it doesnt play elsewhere, I guess you dont have any other choice :-)

Worst, not worthy for 14$ price. Seats were horrible. Ambience is worst to the core. I recommend not to visit this Theater at any time.

Su
Review №57

I liked this place because it has basic movies; it had Bahubali 2, although Im not sure if it will have other major Indian movies. It has many advantages over major theatres, such as here there are a lot of empty seats and it has an interval in movies. BEST OF ALL, THE PRICING HERE IS LESS THAN IN AMC (for the same movie). I would recommend this place to people who watch indian movies

Review №96

Well, first off Id like to say this review is not for the Serra Theater as it is now, but for the Serra Twin Theater I knew growing up in North San Jose in the early 1980s. Back then, the theater was the place wed go to see second-run and B movies. I and my sisters and friends would ride our bicycles along the shoulder of Hwy. 237 (you could get away with it back then; the highway was much smaller). Wed go see something like 9 to 5 or Battle Beyond the Stars or Star Crash for a dollar (or less) then ride our bikes back home. The air-conditioned cool of the theater was a welcome refuge from the harsh California sun, and for an hour or two our mundane world slipped away and we were space warriors or monster hunters or any other number of impossible things.Im happy to know that the Serra is still showing movies, but it seems from the reviews Ive read that the current owners dont seem to care much about giving their customers a pleasant experience. Movies have the power to influence and enrich our lives, and theater-goers that feel comfortable and welcomed will return time and again. After more than 30 years, I still remember the Serra Twin. Will it still be remembered 30 years hence?
