Off the beaten path (literally it’s a dirt road) but amazing views of katahdin and great hikes

Fantastic place to ride a bike on dirt roads. Magnificent views; uncrowded and unspoiled. No facilities.

Theres a reason why this area is unspoiled and beautiful, because a certain group of people havent been up here to destroy it. Until now.

Unfortunately, angry anti-government types have intentionally tried to direct google maps searches to KW&W to a false location in downeast Maine. This is the real national monument and no matter what certain angry folks try to do, this park is not leaving.

A breathtaking piece of Maine woods. Hopefully one that will remain protected for generations. Definitely dont forget the bug spray!

Amazing opportunity. I went up there to paint Katahdin and while I was painting a guy from Millinocket came up and started swearing at me. He continued for 15 minutes. Apart from the hostility, it was a very interesting place to visit.

Amazing views, lots of potential. Look forward to seeing what it becomes...
