Beautiful, historic, and full of magic. This theater will forever hold a special place in my heart. The quality of the sets and shows put on here is outstanding.
This review would be a 5* if Id had a better experience. This is a wonderful venue with great accoustics in a really nice location. My poor experience was my first impression: a rude employee at the door. My friends went in ahead of me because I needed to walk my dog. They waited in line at Will Call and picked up our tickets. When I arrived at the door a few minutes later, the rude employee would not let me in. I told her that my friends had picked up our tickets and were already inside. She ignored me and insisted that I wait in the Will Call line! When I finally got inside, it turned out that I didnt need my ticket until walking into the actual theatre. My friends were waiting for me in the lobby, unaware that I was waiting outside. Like I said, its a lovely venue. Too people who spend good money to go there are not welcomed.
I adore the Throckmorton Theatre! Its filled with artsy character and I feel cozy comfortable whenever I go. I especially like Tuesday night comedy as its a fun way to break up the work week. Balcony seating is available here. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase. Such an intimate and lovely theatre. Volunteering is appreciated. Contact in advance for those opportunities.
Great, intimate space for music. I especially appreciated the Gypsy guitar trio event. Good choice of beer + wine at very reasonable prices with super friendly staff.
Great local venue and always a good mix of arts, music, plays
Great small venue for music I recently was able to listen to The great Richard Howell play there! Only 4 stars because parking can be a challenge.
Enjoyed the work of caring people producing great events.
Mill Valley gem! Go take in a show ... you will love it
What a lovely venue. Very friendly staff.
Saw an amazing rendition of Romeo & Juliet at the Throckmorton Theater. The space was well appointed and a good complement to the performance.
One of the greatest venues in North America.
Great venue. Fantastic support of the arts. This is what theater should be.
Great place to see an event. Local old-time feel. Every seat has a great view. Good sound.Tuesday comedy show can be excellent. However, band selection can be pretty uneven.
Loved it here
Really cozy theater with very good sound! Staff is very sweet and helpful. Drinks are WAY overpriced however.
An enchanting location ~ but it does need air with a large crowd.
We have been going to the Throckmorton for 14+ years.Tuesday comedy is always a great show.Mort Sahl on Thursday evening at 7 pm Pacific time.Wonderful childrens theatre program.Fantastic music. To top it off a Non Profit organization that creates community. Please support the Throckmorton.
A great local theater. A very personal, communal atmosphere.
Love this place! Such a great atmosphere and always a friendly people there. Great shows of all sorts. Tuesdays Comedy Night, Great Comics!
Great venue to rent or to visit a show at
Comedy night on Tuesday, storytelling nights similar to the moth and more. Cute place.
Lovely intimate venue, great place to see my favorite band
Cool little theater! Cozy, charming.
Excellent place to see play or hear music.
Great food
We saw the Film, Hey Monster, Hands off my City at the Throckmorton theater and it was a most fantastic experience. The theater is so beautiful, theres not a bad seat in the house and the staff are excellent. Lucy Mercer runs a gem of a space, We love the Throckmorton. The comedy shows are always top notch too.
I love this place! And I really like the fact that you can actually SIT DOWN and watch a show unlike the Sweetwater a few blocks down. Wish some of the acts at the latter would play at 142 Throckmorton instead.
Really cool joint. We saw Tommy Igoe and the Groove Conspiracy here and loved it! Wasnt too sure about listening to a bug band in a local theater, but it was fantastic! Grabbed a couple IPAs and a glass of wine or two and had a great time. Cant wait to go watch comedy on Tuesday nights
Terrific comedy show in a beautiful theater!
Craig Jessup puts on a great show!
Cozy stage venue in mill valley ca
Such a cozy and intimate theatre.
This is an intimate, beautiful, great sounding performance space.
Great venue for music and movies.
This is a fun venue to see live performances. I saw Hapa here last weekend and enjoyed how close all the seats were to the stage. I also liked the selection of refreshments. Though limited, they were chosen wisely - red and white wine, sparkling wine, popcorn and pastries. The biggest setback for me was the lack of space between the rows of seats. Im 57, 124 pounds and could barely walk through the rows. My knees were also hitting the seat in front of me when I was sitting.
Theater was great and a cool place for community events. I went to comedy night on Tuesday and some of the comedians were not good at all so that why I lowered the rating from a 5
Saw a show here at it started exactly on time??? Like lights down 8:00 sharp. the same thing happens at another concert venue in the area. Im from out of town and that is literly unheard of for comedy and music. is that common here?! no complaints just freaked me out a lil.
This is a great local theater with a wide variety of entertaining shows.
Had a great time at Snow White Holiday Panto
Excellent little venue.
Beautiful theater in a beautiful area. If you have an opportunity to catch a show there, go for it
