We didnt have a lot of time to spend the day we went...but was so impressed with what we saw will go back. Part of the building is all windows and stretches out over the water, the water is so clear you can see to the bottom. There is also a wildlife viewing area that I would just love to sit in all day and watch, especially since you can also hear the birds singing and the water babbling . There are many rooms for hands on teaching. Came home telling friends that they need to go, and take their families...I didnt even make it out on the trails because of inclement weather

Great place to get in nature and have a reprieve from the sounds of the city. Caution: no pets are allowed on the trails. So keep Fiddo and Felix at home. Bathrooms are located in the Visitor Center. The new play area is a welcomed sight for my kiddos. Havent participated in their nature preschool, but it comes highly recommended. Programs are excellent, too!

We biked there from the Midland Brewery and back. very pleasant 14 MI RT with tridge Crossing in the middle. Chippewa Nature Center closed at 5 so we didnt see inside but was told it was a museum of sorts. With a replica of a 450 pound prehistoric beaver! There were flush toilets separate from the Nature Center that were open. There looks like there are a lot of hiking trails there some paved and miles of dirt pass. There were several parking areas as well. It wasnt super crowded but it was a hot Sunday late afternoon. There appears to be a lot of room for social distancing.

Had the BEST hike with my daughter here over fall break. The trails are well-marked, with accurate maps available.. I let her pick the route and we headed out for a great adventure. Took some water and snacks, found a bench, watched birds.. there were a lot of people there, but we saw only a few on our hike. Beautiful place, very well maintained.

Chippewa Nature center is a great opportunity for family and conservation mindsets. Lots of educational and interactive ways to learn about local wildlife and our ecosystems. Many trails to walk, scheduled activities for the community are common. Maple syrup and tree tapping. Summer time has homesteading demonstrations. It is donation based, with a great gift shop!

We biked the Chippewa trail into chippewasee park. The park is awesome, nice skate park and playground (we skipped the playground because it was too crowded) and the tridge is unique. We ate lunch in the shade of a big tree and biked back toward the nature center. We started the river trail but we ran out of time. We will be back.

Love this place! There are many trails to choose from like a short arbory trail for small children to the long Chippewa Trail. There is a Homestead Trail that I encourage anyone who loves history to check out. It is one of my kids favorite trail to take! The Wetlands Trail has a wonderful Observation Tower to see the wild life. This tower is also wheelchair accessible! Athough the buildings are closed due to Covid, there is so much to do and see on the trails!

Very entertaining and educational. Loved it. Loved the lookout over the river. So peaceful. Enjoyed the bird viewing area/room. Saw three blue jays, a Pileaded woodpecker, a titmouse, and a squirrel stealing the sunflower seeds from a feeder, and butterflies. There are various trails if you enjoy walking. Various programs are held here year round. (Candle making, maple syrup demos.) Several classrooms for further info on conservation, invasive species, animals and wildlife of the area. I absolutely love it here! There is a wide variety of ecosystems to explore and the trails are well-maintained and absolutely beautiful. The Homestead has farm animals and an heirloom garden, and the free moonlight strolls lead by the staff are wonderful. CNC also offers a Nature Day Camp, which is a great program that helps kids form connections with nature, and has a CIT opportunity for teens (which I highly recommend). The Chippewa Trail is also great for biking/running and leads right to CNC, and all the staff in the visitors center are super friendly and easy to talk to. The Nature Center is doing great things for the community by making nature easily accessible to everyone, and is changing the lives of so many people every day.

A beautiful educational nature center. Took my daughter on a cold winter day when they had their Winter days activities. There are lots of educational and interactive stations for children and adults to enjoy. A very large window for bird watching and another large window over the river with couches. They had a little station with coffee and hot cocoa that was only .50 or $1. A little gift shop with plenty of good finds. We walked a little trail outside and checked out the wigwam. There were other trails with other things we did not gt a chance to check out. The guy working was very friendly & knowledgeable. It is free to come here but they do accept donations. Will be returning soon.

Walk by the river. Accommodates people with mobility issues, with paved paths through young woods. Stand indoors and watch the river from a building that has an arm the extends above the water. Enjoy exhibits geared to all ages. And sit in a quiet, darkened room watching active bird and animal life gather around feeders and a small water feature. This museum takes an old farm, integrates it with nature and invites you to come and enjoy it. Hiking trails, a historic farmstead, and wildlife all combine for a lovely restful time.
