We had a blast making Barn quilts. Very fun place.

My fiance and I had a great time at Hammer & Stain! Lisa was super helpful when we were crafting. Even though my board didnt turn out correctly, Lisa hand painted letters in to make my board look great again! This place is perfect for groups and date nights. I would definitely come back again.

Love Hammer & Stain! So many different projects and materials/paint colors to choose from. Great place to get together with friends and catch up while DIYing. Lisa is so much fun! This place would also be great for kids birthday parties. My project is a great conversation piece. Check out one of the workshops!

I have done multiple projects/workshops at Hammer & Stain Madison. I love that you can customize your project and dont have to be an expert at DIY to come out with a gorgeous product. The staff is helpful and its fun to relax, grab a drink, and paint for a few hours. Highly recommended!

Lisa is an amazing teacher! She makes each project unique, easy and fun. You walk away with something youre proud of and an experience youll remember forever. The prices are also amazing, I couldnt buy a better gift or new peice for my home and I made it! Its just a blast, I highly recommend.

If you have a friend or a group with whom you want to participate in a DIY activity, even if you want to do it alone with a group of strangers to you, I recommend Hammer and Stain. I went to the blanket hand knitting class and really was impressed with Lisa, the instructor and owner, who was both agreeable and professional and, moreover, patient. I feel that was money well spent. And although I feared it would be, parking was not a pain at all.

Update:I want to clarify that while I was registering, it did say something to the extent that a simple modification was free. So I requested the word change. And, I also said if my change was too complex, to reach out to me because I would have been happy to pay that up charge. Again, customer service issue here.———-Im giving this place a 2-star review primarily because of their Customer Service.I signed up for a workshop. When signing up, you had to pick the design you wanted to do. They gave customers an option where you could take a design, but modify the text in the design. So, I picked my design and modified the text.I show up to the workshop, and the woman found my design. The words were correct, but this was not the design at all. In fact, I dont even remember this design being an option. The design I requested had 4 words with a small leaf/steam design in one of the corners. The design they printed had my 4 words, but a circle around all the words, and ugly hearts and roses all throughout the design. Not even close.I told the woman this was not my design. She said I was wrong, it had to be the one I submitted. So, I pulled out my phone and showed her. She proceeded to tell me it was practically my design and pretty much the same and it will still - and I told her my design didnt have hearts, flowers and this swirly font. Again, she basically told me I should deal with it. Finally when I said I wasnt into flowers, hearts and the fonts, she told me she would ask someone. Again, the next worker basically tried to convince me the design was still cute.There werent any apologies.There werent any actions to try to rectify the situation.My biggest issue is that you spend $60+ dollars on a project. And to pay that much money for something I dont even like? Big. Bummer. I wouldnt come back here in hesitation that Ill have to deal with a design I dont even like.Outside of the customer service, you could walk away with something really cool. This type of place is definitely a great spot for a girls/friends nights. So many cool projects! And, they even have some adult beverages you can enjoy while you craft! If you arent the crafting type, dont worry. They make it so easy and fool-proof to walk away with an AMAZING project.

Fun DIY workshop for beginners & experts alike! Lots of different projects to choose from, including hand knit blankets, wood projects and door mats. Love it!

I generally am not into this kinda thing but it was a lot of fun! Will do it again!
