Its obvious that the Dunes Art Foundation has breathed new life into this theater. The play and actors we saw were top quality and could have played just as well in the best Chicago theater (which we frequent regularly). Quite a rustic, out-of-the-way place being in the middle of a Duneland forest... away from the madding crowd! But, based on our experience, its an easy choice if you enjoy really good theater in a laid-back environment.
Such an amazing theater with top notch shows situated in a secluded little woodsy alcove. Im just sorry I never discovered this gem sooner. Cant wait to go back.
If you havent seen the musical Working, see it this weekend. It is totally sensational, the acting and music superb and as good or better than anything I have seen in Chicago or even New York. I love this theatre, the staff are fantastic, helpful and friendly. What a gem in Indiana.
Pretty disappointed...Although the actors were very good.. The main character literally had his script in hand reading his lines. Everyone else knew theirs. Very unprofessional. This was supposed to be a murder comedy.. But there was very little humor. Added note... They did refund my tickets and also sent complimentary tickets for a different show. Very impressed with customer service.
This was the worst theaters I’ve ever worked with. They are unprofessional to the core and have a very selfish leadership team. Along with an Artistic Director that can’t memorize lines and will carry a script on stage. All and all. Not a good place for actors, and not a great place for interesting shows.
Ive been here before for a production. That time it was very good. This time, not so much.
Broadway quality show tonight! My first time at Dunes Arts. Who knew?
Professional performances just outside Michigan City, Indiana. Im always impressed by their shows
Very welcoming. Beautiful setting. Wonderful hosts. Why hadnt I known of this? Mos-Def recommend. Mos-Def will be returning.
We always are entertained! Wine and beer is expensive but its a great local attraction!
Great theater. Enjoyed everything weve seen
What a great find. All these years here and I never knew about it. Wonderful production of After Paul McCartney. Look forward to next years season.
I grew up acting here I played Peter Pan Dorothy and The Wizard of Oz I was in all the adult musicals and plays and then I went on to Hollywood Broadway and God knows where else so somebody is taking it over recently there really terrific the place is wonderful the actors that are coming in now are top-notch go see it its a great experience the theater was started by PT Barnums grandson its awesome go for it
Great night seeing Working!
I did not enjoy my time at this theater. I did enjoy the show, but the people in the lobby and box office were not helpful. Also I found the constant bragging from the several managers and board members about themselves, I overheard after the show to be a bit much.Wonderful talents on stage, bad environment.
End of the summer season for 2017... commendable acting, a beautiful setting, and ambiance at Duneland Summer Theatre! The performances were stellar, and when you want to see a performance again, that is telling! All were wonderfully casted, and Barrymores Ghost a remarkable and memorable play, that will hopefully appear again at Duneland Summer Theatre!Cant wait to see the next performance at this playhouse, nestled in the woods, with exemplary talent!!
Cool place in the woods. Charming and magical in a way. Run down, but that is part of the charm kind of.
Great community theater, pleasantly surprised by the impressive caliber of the actors
Unbelievable talent of actors and singers in a hidden gem of a theater complex tucked away in the dunes near the shores of Lake Michigan
Great Theatre
Outstanding productions
Nice small town theater
