This place was an awesome find. Such a rich piece of history for our country. The inside of the building with the carpet and blacklights are cool. Be advised though, you have to be interested in this, and you cant be lazy and have to read to take it all in. This area and the intelligent staff that worked at Mound Labratories helped our great country beat the USSR.
Interesting, educational place. I didnt realize Dayton had played such a major role in Cold War research. And Paul has some great history to share, if youre lucky enough to visit when hes there.
Great place to see some of the local nuclear contributions to the use of nuclear energy and the space programs.
This was a great quick stop for the family on a random summer day. A great way to help prevent the summer learning gap is to read. There was plenty to read and have read to them about local history in the museum. (The staff is wearing masks and precautions were made for safety in regards to the virus)
This is a great museum! The topic is so interesting, and the stories that are told are really interesting- I would have never guessed that such a significant site existed right here under my nose. Mandy and the team at the Center were especially helpful when my group and I were starting out our research into the Dayton Project- we were given lots of good information and pointed in the direction of numerous good sources.
Great small science museum in Dayton about our citys role in nuclear development. The museum is free but donations are welcome. If you come on a Saturday you can talk to Paul, a former Mound chemical engineer.
Very well put together piece of Dayton and American history. A retired 40 year employee of the lab was there to describe their experience and help explain the functions of the Mound Laboratory. FREE ADMISSION
Cool museum to see the past in our city, amd how it influenced the nation.
This location is now part of the Dayton History group and will be renamed Mound Cold War Information Center. It will have a grand opening something in January or February.
