Great course. Been coming to the driving range here all summer but finally got a chance to play this weekend. Course was definitely challenging, A few dog legs and challenging holes that you cant just bomb driver on. I was really impressed by how clean the greens and fairways were of leaves, I only ever had to move one leaf to get a putt. Carts were nice and had USB plugs so that my phone didnt die while I was using my GPS app. I had a great experience, will definitely be back.

Pipestone was a great course to play. Beautifully maintained as well as extremely challenging. I have to say that hole number two is quite possibly the hardest hole in Dayton, eighteen was a pretty rough one as well.Looking forward to coming back and playing again real soon!

Played 4/5/20 @ 0900, Course is in great shape, Greens rolled true and quick. Fun course with good elevation changes, bunkers were in great shape as well considering how wet it has been. Walking and carrying due to virus conditions. Good design so not much wasted walking from greens to next tee box but the front nine is back and forth across a good sized valley. Back nine plays a little less elevation change, except 18, which is a great finisher.

Worst golf course my significant other and I ever played on. Not sure if the guy ahead of us was intimidated by us, antiethical/antisimetic? He screamed at us and the staff was beyond incompetent. Worst golfing we have experienced in 25+ years. Will never go back. What a waste of money. I wish I could get a refund and explain to management how poor their establishment is.

We always enjoy playing at Pipestone. We normally get out there 2 or 3 times a year. The course has been in great condition the last three years and it was just as good today. Greens are quick with readable breaks. There is a decent amount of terrain elevation with water and decent sand traps throught the course.I walk even the the special I played on included the cart. If there is one drawback that allowed my wife, son and I to play on a Sunday afternoon at a pretty cumbersome rate (4 hrs 15 min with no one in front of us) and not have anyone catch us, it is the $39 dollar walking rate. If I had paid this it would only be a 4 star rating.

Squeezed Pipestone, Yankee Trace, Browns Run, and 9 at Shaker Run into 2 days. Pipestone was in great condition. Fairways and greens looked wonderful. Pipestone had some holes that could be intimidating with no course knowledge, but the entire experience was great. I have paid more to play less quite a bit. $42 on a weekday was a steal here. Great value.

We were given wrong information while a league was playing and while out on the field a staff member playing screamed at us after politely asking him if we could pass his group a hole as there were only two of us and even then only one of us was playing. Nice course and greens, fun and challenging layout. The course was WAY overbooked, 6 hour round pace of play, had to leave 4 holes early. Do not play on the weekends! Unless you have 3 hours per nine or more to play! Edited~ I received the same cookie cutter response they give everyone else. Zero attention to detail.

Plated at Pipestone for a Company outing. 18 holes of well manicured greens and friendly helpful employees. I know they cant do this for everyone, but I didnt even have time to get out of my car and a gentleman pulled up in a cart ready to give me a ride to the clubhouse. I dont drink beer, but dollar beer Friday seems like it should be pretty popular! I had the same friendly service at the 19th hole. It was a great day. Great golf course (well it was great to play - my personal golf game gets 2 stars at best), great weather & a great clubhouse.

Nice course with challenging holes. Staff was friendly. However, I took 4 foursomes there a couple weeks ago and it took 6.5 hours to play our 18-hole round! It started off bad when we were sent off the back 9 instead of the front which instantly messed up my format I spent hours planning that required us to be playing the awesome #18 par 5 for the championship hole. Then at the turn, 2 or 3 groups were pushed off the tees in front of us slowing us down even more. I still like the course but feel its overpriced for what it is when compared to other nicer courses in the area.

Nice course! Greens are in great shape and not covered in ball marks. Not a lot of bunkers or water other than #2. Relatively inexpensive. I agree completely with the earlier review about the par 5s (#2 and #18). 18 is especially frustrating with the SEVERE undulations (valleys) that really make it difficult. I still give this course 5 stars though.

Not a place to play golf if you enjoy PLAYING golf. Tee time was 1008am, on the 7th tee at 1213pm, asked the course marshal if anything could be done to speed up play. He told us it takes 6 hours to play golf on a Sunday anywhere around here. Nope it doesnt just at PipeStone which is after the guy on the first tee gave every foursome a speech about playing in 4H15M. Why give a speech if you dont enforce it.......

I played this course when in town on business. I walked after twilight, and it was by far the best $20 I ever spent on a round of golf. The course was in perfect shape. The fairways had that nice spongy, bouncy feel under your feet, and the greens rolled true and still a little quick even after the 15-minute torrential downpour that caught me on the 9th. Most of the holes on the course were open enough, meaning that there was generally an obvious good miss. (The miss on 2 and 18 is to the right!) I played Windy Knoll the day before, and believe me, this course was a welcome change. It was manageable, and you could score low even with a few bad ones. Also, the guy in the pro shop was quite pleasant and helpful. Ill probably go again tomorrow!

Long time member, you can make this course as difficult as you want by playing any of the 4 tee boxes. For those who complain about #2 you need to try course management. From the white ts hit a 5 wood 185-210 yards hit a 9 iron 125-140 and sand wedge 90-120 and putt for birdie! If your in to risk rewards hit the driver and aim right hoping you come out in the fairway to get inside 200 yards for your second shot to the Par 5. Both ways are achievable, one is just smarter. The course is in great shape with a new irrigation system added over the winter, greens are in the best shape ever. New management is doing great job.

Ti
Review №88

This course is well maintained and provides excellent value for your entertainment dollar but I give it three stars because I hate the design of two of the par 5s on the course. #2 is the first of the holes I actively dislike. If you hit any kind of draw off the tee or on your second youre dead because the whole fairway slants severely downward toward a pond that lines the entire left side of the fairway. If you can hit a purposeful fade and play to get on in three you can survive this hole without ruining your day right out the chute but if you do not know this insider information #2 will provide immediate frustration. The second hole I actively hate is #18. If you manage to get the bad aftertaste out of your mouth from the second hole, #18 is pretty much guaranteed to raise your blood pressure for the drive home. This finishing Par 5 looks harmless enough from the tee but its the second and third shots that will drive you crazy. The problem is the fairway narrows significantly and severely undulates so there is a very good chance that you may not be able to see the green when you hit your third (if you are lucky enough to FIND your second shot that is) and the green is long and narrow with a downhill slope that will draw you approach into the woods if you miss left and a severe slope on your right that creates an impossible chip if you leave your approach there. Its disappointing because I LOVE the over 16 holes on this course but #2 and #18 ruin the experience for me everytime I play here. Id play it alot more if they made #18 somewhat reasonable because #2 can be tamed with intelligent play and good ball striking. #18 is a different animal entirely. Either turn this hole into a Par 4 or flatten the undulations in the fairway that leads to blind third shots. Those changes would make this hole alot more playable and heighten the experience of playing this course immensely.
