If you’ve got free time and you’re in Miami, this is a must. This goes for you and all your friends. A historical landmark to Miami, come by and enjoy a fun walk through history, art, and humidity. Everything is picturesque! We walked through the whole thing. Took us a little less than two hours. Parking is free and on the premises. The gardens are beautiful and are probably the scene to thousands of photo shoots. The house itself is air conditioned and labeled well. The upstairs area is currently being remodeled :/
Absolutely gorgeous! Lots of history and beautiful architecture! The garden is very maintained, with a lot of green, flowers and little ponds. Definitely worth to visit. Tickets need to be purchased online (during COVID-19). Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect place for families and tourists. Dogs are not allowed and smoke free.
A wonderful place to spend a couple of hours. Some sections were closed in the museum but the garden was very nice
My daughter and I really enjoyed visiting! You must purchase tickets online and have the print out or have your phone ready to scan the online tickets. The second floor and gift shop were closed but they offered a free audio tour in its place which was nice. Definitely take the audio tour. We did the house first and then gardens. It helps to go in order! We arrived at about 3 and had just enough time to get through the entire grounds but I would have like a little more time.
A very beautiful place to spend a pleasant day, it has a very beautiful history and everything colonial, the finishes and structures fall in love, it has a beautiful view that you can stare at for a long time, and inside it is incredible.
Very nice place to wind down and admire the beautiful gardens. Very relaxing day spent here. I would totally recommend if you are in the area.
This is amazing experience. Built in 1912-1914 but feels like 15 venture italian palace. Gorgeous gardens and photographic views.
Nice place walk around with family and friends it is a great place take pictures customers service is a great but not that best a woman thats worker there toll me not use flash I mean theres no body in a room its empty so I toll her get lost..last dont forget to water and sun screen it gets hot..
Ive been to enough fancy mansions where I thought this place would be overrated, I was wrong. Completely lives up to its reputation. We came 2 hours before closing because we thought we would get bored but could have easily spent another 2 hours there. Will have to come back and finish exploring. Saw so many different species of lizards in one small area
Whenever I have guests from out of state I take them to this miami relic. A beautiful mansion you can walk through, enjoy a piece of history and walk the garden too. A nice Cafe on site. Beautiful photo opps everywhere. Its no wonder they are available for weddings and events
Beautiful place!!! You can see the great architecture of the main house, the interior decorations are amazing and breathtaking. As well the lots of gardens are great with unique designs and layouts. You can spend the whole day to discover each corner of this magic villa. Highly recommended!
Beautiful place! The interior decoration are amazing! Incredible architecture! The garden is well maintained with a lots of green areas and flowers!
This house is a treat to visit if you are interested in estate houses, history and architecture. The passing of the years has not diminished the grandeur of this magnificent house. There are many ways to tour this place. You can join a live group tour, a self guided tour or enjoy the place on your own. The rooms and furnishings are beautifully preserved and one can spend hours just taking in all the details. Don’t forget to check out the gardens and the docking area outside. I highly recommend visiting this house if you are in the area. It was certainly one of my favorite places in Miami.
The gardens are breathtaking. We visited after a rainy day and even if the path was a bit muddy we really enjoyed our visit. The inside of the house is full of antiques and art.Their bar is closed so bring a small snack if you know you get hungry. They do have a vending machine for water.
Ive been wanting to visit this sculpture for a long time now and finally got the chance this past weekend during my Miami trip. This art piece is just as beautiful in person as all the pictures online! Its a great spot to come by yourself, with your family or on a romantic date. Great photography spot! Id highly recommend coming to see it at least once.
Im not sure that after so many years I have never reviewed this wonderful place. This place truly deserves of the 5 stars above because of its beauty, size, nature, and pathways. There really isnt an ugly part to this place! If you are into photography, you will spend the entire day here trying to capture all its amazing places and colorful flowers and bay. Truly is a getaway without leaving the city. The mansion is majestic and feels like you are in a classic movie. If you are planning on having professional pictures taken here, I suggest you come during the week and avoid the weekend as there are always dozens of photographers and their subjects setting up lights and equipment, all over the good places.
Beautiful place to walk, take pictures and spend your time. I recommend.
If you are in the mood for a European inspired experience but are stuck in Florida, (Covid) the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is for you!! This home is absolutely beautiful and full of interesting history and an inspiration! Make sure you locate the secret garden!!
What a wonderful place there! I went yesterday I just wish the 2 floor was ready but the rest was beautiful
This place is beyond gorgeous! Around every corner and there is yet another beautiful section of the garden. Lavish beauty!
This is my happy place when I return to Miami to visit family. Id been coming here since I was a kid. Just a ticket to see the grounds and not the main house is worth it. Such a beautiful place. So glad Madonna wasnt able to buy it and it remains a treasure to the people of South Florida and its visitors.
A wonderful place to visit full of history and charm. One can imagine what life was like back then. Reminds me of Biltmore. If you liked Biltmore you will like Vizcaya.
We are investing in an urban adventure for child and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens provides a wonderful foundation. When we had an infant, it provided a sane, inspiring place to walk and take in natural beauty. Now that he is older, these expansive gardens offer an enchanted land where he and his friends can run, roam and discover. Membership is so reasonable and we have made this a regular stop on our cycle of outings throughout Los Angeles. What a gift to have such a wild, non-commercial, living museum available to the public -- live education and exploration opportunities abound. We are looking forward to the return of their summer music series.
From the moment I walked past the water through the gates and into the garden, I could feel a certain air of wonder and mischief; the wonder of a child playing hide-and-seek and the mischief of a secret rendezvous.Id have to say my favorite parts were the Theater Garden and the Fountain Garden. I felt the excitement of having a new script in hand in the former, and felt at ease watching the ripples in the fountain in the latter. (Im honestly a little sad that I didnt visit in a sundress or something billowy.)After spending an hour and a half in the gardens, I headed inside the museum itself. (Thank goodness for the air conditioning; all that wandering around in the garden made me more than a bit tired and warm!) I got lost in the details of the building. I couldnt help but the carvings in the wall moldings and the art on the ceilings. It was almost as if Id gone back in time.I didnt get a chance to try the audio tour (I was too far in my own world!), but the staff were direct and pleasant and the signs on the grounds were helpful. It was a fun experience on my own, but Id love to come back with my mix of friends (romantics at heart, nature lovers, and history buffs).
The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens are a perfect destination for anyone visiting Miami and looking for an educational experience, as well as a tranquil nature walk. I wish I was able to come when the entire museum was open, but due to Covid-19 the top floor was closed to the public. It was almost appropriate since the original patron, James Deering, would often stay in his quarters as his guests explored the Villa to avoid recognition for his Hospitality.
Great museum. Military and veterans get free admission. It is all self guided on foot. Audio tours were sold out. Handicap parking is just like general parking. It is one of a kind House and property from the really 1900s.
You have stepped into a fairytale when you have stepped into Vizcaya. It stands, in the heart of Biscayne Bay, as a staple of good times, class and exquisite taste. An Italian Palazzo( very much reminds me of Venice, Italy) with all “modern” modifications you could ever find in 1920-30’s home. Home to beautifully curated art and tapestries from all over the world. Well maintained horticultural gardens weave seamlessly with local flora and fauna. Explosion of color and style with an obsessive attention to details. A true gem-a must see!
Must visit period. Lovely place to explore and admire.
Beautiful grounds! Just stunning. Definitely make this a 2-3 hour stop out of your day while you are in Florida. it’s crazy to think one (or two) man has such a vision for beauty. It would have been great to see it during its hay day
Wonderful place to visit. Hours of entertainment with the guided tour and walking the gardens. The styling, the location, the vast amount of art is overwhelming. And the stone boat outside was something I havent seen before, I cant imagine what it looked like when it was still in one piece. The gardens have a lot to see as well but Id recommend grabbing a hat and some sunscreen if you intend on walking through them in the Miami heat.
I love Coconut Grove, and this mansion and grounds are a big part of its history. Lots to see here, and I recommend the guided tour of the house for an extra $5.00. The front of the house actually faces Biscayne Bay, and there are amazing views of water. A tour of the house reveals a lot of expensive imports from Europe, such as a fireplace, carpet, furniture, paintings, etc. And not just any carpet- one that Marco Polo likely walked over. There was a stone table over 2000 years old. The grounds are beautiful, just so elaborate, with great attention to detail. The staff is really nice and helpful. Our guide was a former teacher, and we was a volunteer. I think it is more for adults and maybe teenagers
A must visit. Truly a spectacular place.
Beautiful views, but due to covid, upstairs and Cafe was closed.
Walking the property could feel like your own scene from La Dolce Vita. Glamour is what the property seems made for, if only a backdrop. I could see The Great Gatsby himself building a property just for these parties, and thats what socialite James Deering attempted to do. Now, hear me out, because I think as much as he had a passion for what he wanted, he didnt exactly pour his heart and soul into the place. It feels impersonal (save for a portrait of the man, which has been passed through the generations before being donated to the property). He wanted a rose garden, but that doesnt work near the Miami heat. He wanted a special place for orchids, but he didnt account for the sun that would kill them. For a man clearly with a passion for gardens, I reckon acclimation to Florida was a pain for him (he was a yankee northerner). Rumor has it he only swam in his own pool a single time. The rest of the house is like an art museum with the entrance being a garden in itself, emphasizing his passion (its been roofed in since it was built, almost like a greenhouse). While it could be considered worth the price of admission for the views alone, the history adds to it, but its mostly told in factoids rather than life experiences. It feels terribly impersonal, almost inviting you and your imagination in lieu of being a home for another person (my price of admission did not include visiting the second story of the mansion). The best feature is the wave breaker...made of stone, built to look like a ship at sea, it adds much to the view of the bay. The owner, however, seemingly had too much money (but many inspirational friends).
This place is amazing. So many beautiful things to look at, you can get lost for hours. I cant wait to come more and to keep discovering. My 2 year old LOVES coming here, its the perfect escape for the day.
Really beautiful area! My wife and I took our engagement photos here. Our photographer, Amanda was excellent. Lots of beautiful different shots you can get here as you can see in the photos. Have recommended to many friends and will continue to do so
Such a beautiful place! Depending on the day & time that you go, the house can be either a quite and peaceful experience or it can be a bit crowded. I would suggest going early to get the tour of the house done without the crowd. Also, getting there early gives you opportunity to get a closer parking spot. I did the audio tour and - in my opinion - it was well done and informative. You can also go at your own pace, which was great. Overall, a great place to visit if you are down in Miami.
One of my fav places in Miami. If you are looking for something different to do in the city, then this is it. Great history, beautiful architecture and outstanding gardens. Been there on different occasions. And if you are as lucky as me to be invited to a special event, let me tell you something. Weddings at Vizcaya are an absolute dream.
Very pretty and scenic. Beautiful pictures to be taken everywhere. Some workers definitely take themselves too seriously though, and can be rude.
This is an amazing place, very different from the rest of Miami, is MSUT see, is a very family friendly place and dont forget to take water with you, because there is a lot of walking! Very recommender
Went here for free museum day and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Parking is free and there is plenty of it. Admission is usually $9. There werent too many flowers blooming in January but it was nice walking throughout the different wooded areas and the ancient forest. This is a great place to get some exercise as there is lots of walking to do. Check out their gift shop on the way out for take home plants and other items such as fresh salsas and jellies.
Talk about free fun! Vizcaya Museum & Gardens - the most unspoken event of the month. Not too crowded, in DTLA of course & everything stays open later than usual. Shops, restaurants and the art galleries. Very interesting pieces exhibited and pets welcome :) Ill definitely be back!!
Amazing place. I took 100s of pictures. Beauty is every where you look. You can spend hours here and not see it all. I think every time you visit you would find something you missed. The house is beautiful, the gardens are beautiful. Just amazing to see. I dont think Jeff Bezo could afford to build this house today.
5/5 I bring people I want to impress here.
What to say about Vizcaya Museum & Gardens? What an amazing attraction to visit when in Miami!!!! I would have never imagined this existed.Everyone is very nice. The Gardens are breathtaking. You have to make sure you walk them all. There are some hidden areas and pictures will be great. It is like a mini Versailles, but with the backdrop of the Miami Skyline. The house itself is great and make sure to take the to your for better insights.
Vizcaya Museum is a dream place for photographers, art and architecture lovers, and history buffs. Expect to spend around 1.5 to 2 hours to fully explore the villa and gardens. The Museum closes around 4.30pm (check timings on website). The villa has featured in several movies as well, and is also a top wedding destination. The villa was built in 1920s and was a technologically advanced house for that era. The architecture is from the Italian renaissance period with a modern touch.A must visit if you are in Miami.
Went there on January 2nd. Such a beautiful place especially if you love nature. The BEAUTIFUL outside was better.. the landscape, and views.. Went there and the weather was perfect. If I lived closer, Id bring a book with me a just read there for hours. Definitely something to check out. Probably stayed here for an hour to look around. I didnt get to see the cafe or if they had a souvenir shop. Would recommend eating at the grove before/after going here because it is close to the place and its a street filled with cool places to eat!
What a breathtaking place! Its hard to believe that it was built at the beginning of the 20th century in a way that it looks like a few hundred years old villa. The architect and the interior designer (I forgot the fancy job title he was given) certainly did a superb job. If you like stunning architecture and would like to see something unique, then I definitely encourage you to visit Vizcaya whilst in Miami, but leave the kids at home!
This mansion/museum is gorgeous! A fantastic place to visit when staying in Miami. The building and grounds are beautiful, and if you like Italian and Spanish architecture, this is your kind of place. A hidden jem in the middle of a city.
I cant believe I have lived in South Florida my whole life and never visited Vizcaya. I will definitely be coming back. You can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around the property... So many good photo spots here, so good that I lost count of people taking their wedding photos taken here.
I often take visiting friends, to Vizcaya to show a different side of Miami as there isnt much else in general from a historical/architectural point of view. It will be the last time though, or I will advise them of the following: half of the main house is closed, the second floor is probably the richest and most part of the house architecturally speaking. Also they dont tell you that the audio guide tour (highly recommended if you care to know what you are visiting), is now provided with phone app that has no specific direction or reference of the part of the house you are visiting. You enter the main house but the tour starts with the garden. They do not provide you with a map to reference the audio tour, and the staff (mainly young kids) are too busy chatting on their phone to help you. There are 2000 years old artifacts from all over the world, that people just walk by clueless, At the end you spend a couple of hours of your life and $18 to see a pretty house and take some pictures on the garden. What a shame!
Great experience, beautiful grounds and museum. Definitely recommend going in the early morning or late afternoon when it’s a bit cooler. We couldn’t go to the second floor of the museum, I’m guessing because of COVID. There is a lot of awesome places to take pictures so don’t forget your camera.
Fabulous museum and gardens in and around preserved Italianate Gilded-Age mansion in Coconut Grove area. Main floor of main house *is* wheelchair accessible; be sure to ask for help at ticket window for accessible lift access. Manatees are often seen in the waters just behind the house.
I love this Historical Landmark in Miami! I Love it so much, that I became a member to help preserve it! Its like stepping back in time and it never gets old for me or my family. The lush European style garden is just breath taking. I highly recommend to anyone locally or visiting from outside of Miami, to make some plans to come and visit the Vizcaya! Love, Love, Love ️️️
This museum is really extraordinary. The house has so much detail that allow you appreciate all the beautiful design . The garden is impressive. I gave 4 stars because I think it should be 10 dollars instead of 22 . A little bit overpriced. That is why I love Washington DC so many museums with free entry .
Not sure if its worth the money but it was an interesting place. Grounds werent as big as I expected but I think I was comparing to the Biltmore, which really isnt a fair comparison. We had a nice time and with the weather being so awesome, heightened the experience.
Dont miss! Amazing, beautiful. Art, architecture, landscape and design perfectly merged into a Masterpiece. Wonderful experience, stepping back into the luxurious excesses of a1910 industrialists garden and mansion. I recommend the ($5 extra) mansion tour, docent was marvelous and informative.
Phenomenal house, luxury beyond your imagination! Astonishing to think that somebody actually used to call this home... Its nice finding all of the little secret places people used to probably go off to...
This place is beyond gorgeous! Around every corner and there is yet another beautiful section of the garden. Lavish beauty!
Very intriguing place to visit. Still in renovation mode. Wasnt s le to see second level. I really enjoyed the garden.
INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! Must do visit when in Miami. We spent a good few hours exploring every corner of the gardens. Inside was also stunning. Such a unique place, definitely worth the ticket price. Parking was easy and nearby. Pictures are amazing but don’t even do it any justice! One of the highlights of our Miami trip! Would highly recommend
Beautiful house and grounds. Give yourself 2 to 3hrs to stroll about the place. Especially if you bring a camera-which I would absolutely do.
Beautiful palace. Has wonderful gardens and open to the sea. The owner made huge effort to make this place nice.
I enjoyed visiting this beautifully preserved historic home while visiting south Florida. The house does not take that long to see but the gardens are pretty large. The boat is so surreal. I wish they could restore the numerous fountains because it would make the gardens just stunning.
Very hot and humid, but so beautiful. The area was well kept and clean. They have a cafe, but can be pricey for some. I purchased the student ticket (bring ID to show as proof)- $15 compared to regular adult fee of $20. I also purchased the tour guide book for additional $3- did not use it as much as it was too hot to stop and read. The place is stunning and filled with history. It is a must see! Words cannot describe what a beauty Vizcaya Museum is. Be prepared for lots of walking! Wear comfortable shoes.
This place is so insanely gorgeous! My favorite part is the huge gardens. I love seeing the shipwreck in the water and the iguanas. There are so many platforms and stairs to explore. This is a great place to take photos!!
Love this place. Weve been coming here with the kids for years, theyve grown up exploring all the hidden trails and tree canopies, visiting the ducks, koi and turtles in the ponds, great concerts in the summers, and just an awesome place to get out of the city a bit just a few minutes up the 2 fwy.
Beautiful place to visit. Great walking trails. Very pretty to walk along the river and pass by the pond. Kids will love the play ground.
This is a great place to go on a weekend in Miami. It’s also better to go on a cooler day since this place is out door and indoor.
There’s no words to describe the beauty and fantastic history inside of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens! Starting with the parking, which is FREE and easy to find, I’ll explain some tips and good things about this museum MUST to go while in Miami:• Price for tickets is worth it: $22 per person. My personal advice: after doing the tour if you felt in love (like me!) you can go the cashier and ask about their membership, they will add your ticket value to the membership price and you only have to pay the rest.• Inside house: Start to your left. Many many “secret doors”. You will see decoration, ornaments and every detail inspired in European culture. Considering it was built in 1900, it’s so impressive the advance in some aspects like elevator, phone room, food elevator, and much more. Most of the spaces inside the house predominates caravels and boats and it has open spaces with views, either to the gardens or to the bay.• Gardens: Get ready for a long walk! Wonderful plants, designs, and keep a bottle of water full in case you get tired for the high temperatures in summer. It looks like the cafeteria is under construction, but their employees are friendly and extreme helpful taking you pictures or offering best routes to walk-in.Keep in mind to refill your bottle of water every time or at least going outside to explore the gardens. Wear fresh and light clothes because going in summer could be hot.The museum is open to host events, photo shoots and they offer their own events for members.I’m definitely going again!
Thank you for always having a beautiful space for my clients and I to enjoy and create beautiful imagery in. We always have so much fun and no matter how many times I photograph my brides here I always find unique and beautiful compositions. Thank you.
Words cannot describe the absolute beauty of this place! Get a membership and go, go, go as much as you can! Bring a friend, write a book, meditate (well... maybe not meditate... too many kids!) The only complaint I have is that there are quite often screaming kids running around but if you time it right and are willing to walk to a more remote area where there are no turtles you should be fine. Their food is pretty good too. There is always something of beauty to see no matter what time of year you attend. Their events are lovely too though a bit overpriced for walking around. The gift shop has some great plants to buy as well. I actually meet clients in here periodically because its so peaceful!
The Garden is so nice, Great place to walk they need to clean it up better and start
This place is very pretty. I would not recommend visiting in the summer. The gardens are beautiful but it is difficult to truly enjoy the beauty under the hot torching Florida summer sun. I think it would be amazing anytime other than summer. We were very thankful that the inside had AC. There really is not much of a restaurant but more of a tent set up outside with some pre-made sandwiches and some ice pops and water. I think this is because the restaurant area is under construction, I’m not sure.
For the price you pay I found this place dirty and unkept. Beautiful house and gardens, but smelly water, mud everywhere. No place to get anything except vending machine. What a shame as this home is big part of Miami history.
Very nice museum with lots of history and an incredible garden/little maze with fountains stairs paths etc. We even saw a sweet 16 photo shoot going on. Definitely nice touch with all the views this places has. Also theres like a port with what seems to be like an old abandoned boat? Super nice to go see with the family, and Im gona say not too nice for the little ones, more for the older crowd.
One of a kind magical place! everything about this estate is beautiful, it’s as though you’ve stepped into Italy while still in Miami. I could’ve spent a whole week here and there definitely is a weeks worth of things to see here! the gardens seem to never end and yet every single square inch is prettyit is worth the admission prices, remember to bring your school ID if you have one! beautiful location to take pictures no matter the occasion, I can’t get enough of this place it’s magnificent!
Vizcaya Museum & Gardensso is the perfect place to go and relax. As soon as you go in there parking lot your able to feel the calmness of the surrounding. This is my second time at this place I became a member. My friend and I will be taking taking yoga classes, they start next week and go on for 8 weeks once a week. We only payed $118 Im so looking forward to it :)
Absolutely beautiful gardens and museum! Make sure you have enough time to see everything or you will regret it. They give you a map to make things easier or you can go on a tour or self guided tour. It was super hot when we went in July, but worth it. The staff is also very friendly and helpful!
I use to work here as a teen and Ive been coming here for over 20 years. I always learn something new on ever visit. I wish I could see this place in its prime upon its completion. Sadly it has endured some damage over the decades from all the hurricanes. The staff do a great job of keeping maintaining it. Best time to visit is during the Miami winter season when the weather outside is perfect.
Incredibly gorgeous place to explore. Lots of lizards and even some turtles in the pools. A little pricey but worth it! Bring your water bottle, and don’t expect to take special photos here — you need a photography pass ($250-350/day) for things like engagement and maternity photos, etc.
Vizcaya is one of the most beautiful vintage palaces, located a few miles from Miami Beach. The tickets are priced at $18 per person. The specialty of Vizcaya is that it still has a few rooms preserved from the early 1900s which you are open to the public and provides an insight of the Royal life. It houses a beautiful garden that looks vivid and makes a great background for your Instagram photos. If you visit Miami, don’t forget to go to Vizcaya.
Beautiful place. A must visit for both residents and tourists. Really well maintained
Beautiful place. We have driven past the entrance many times during our daughters time at the University of Miami and I always wanted to visit but there never seemed to be time. A friend suggested we visit Vizcaya last week and we cant wait to visit again. The gardens are extraordinary and walking the paths, exploring each new turn, really sparks the imagination as to what it must have looked like in its prime. Its mind boggling to think of the planning and work and care that went into them. The house was fascinating and really like stepping back in time. Its not all accessible and I dont think a wheelchair would be able to go through. We had to lift the stroller up steps just to access the first floor and couldnt take it to the second. The gift shop and cafe are undergoing renovations so gifts and food were extremely limited. The Orchidarium was my favorite. Its across the path from the pool and worth searching out.
Walking into a gilded age...Compare with Flagler and Ringling for opulence and splendor. The location and barge on Biscayne bay on one side and expansive gardens, statues, fountains and grottos are perfectly balanced. Oh, and the house. Palatial in size with refinement that is of a bygone time. Excellent vibe. Well worth the visit. Suggest you have at least 2 hours for the visit.
At $22 per person I think it was slightly overpriced, particularly because you dont get a tour guide for that price. We were not even given a map. The gardens were nice, but there were no blooming flowers. The water views were lovely and the house was very interesting.
One of my favorite place! Every times I have guests visiting Miami, I always take them to Miami. I have been here more than 5 times. Still clean and organized. Friendly and Helpful staff. We always took bunch of photos from here!
Amazing! Every one must visit this place! I felt like I were visiting park in Italy and not in US. Stylish and beautiful, dream place for wedding pictures and just regular visit. Little paradise island in Florida.
I love it! Went as a Chaperone with my sons class then came back on my own to enjoy every single bit of it. Be sure to walk around the entire back of the garden. There are some little hidden areas hardly anyone sees. Also check out the organ pipes!
Almost perfect. Wear your tennis / hiking shoes. There are some dusty paths. HELPFUL TIP: Picnics welcome.
Huge. Lots to see. Absolutely beautiful inside and outside. The water at barge smells... Not sure they can do anything but beware.
A great place to relax from the bustling equally beautiful city. Gardens like Alice in Wonderland
The public art is connected to Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Come here at dusk, the light turns on. Its nice. Just it takes a few minutes to visit.
Beautiful place to visit. We spent 2 hours on the premises checking many things.
We were in Miami for a week and this was absolutely the highlight of it. It was an incredible house with a super interesting history. We spent about 3 hours in complete awe. I’ve been to historical houses like these in a handful of other states but this is by far the most impressive to date for myself. Highly recommend it, it’s a must stop for anyone visiting. Would 100% come back next time I’m in town.
Gorgeous museum and garden! Beautiful layout, well kept, interesting history. A joy to explore, walk around and take lots of pictures! Cost $22 per person in Dec 2019.
Dear visitors,This is very memorable. Murals, busts on outside of ruling families afiliated. Authentic statues from roman times. Water fountains imported also from there. Alter of scafrices with horned goat + deamons. Alligators in the yard there ok. Florida has thousands of them. Awesome home a secret passage way. Elevator up stairs bathroom has gold faucets! Under the home he had a swimming pool! Old world. Pope was here they said.
Beautiful architecture and interior with amazingly well preserved furniture, tapestries and murals. Gardens are also beautiful, the temperature was a little too hot to fully enjoy, unfortunately. We spent around 3 hours walking around. There is a cute little tent cafe by the entrance. Was very impressed and so glad we got to visit!
Worth the price. Pay for the tour ($5). Hard to know the history or art info without it. Beautiful gardens and the sea view was amazing. Cafe was very small and had no food so plan to picnic there or go elsewhere to eat after.
