Visit Deering Estate and take a stroll with Elias, you wont regret it! Elias was the perfect companion to explore this gorgeous and magnificent land with. I welcomed his sincerity, passion about the estates history and curiosity about the vegetation we encountered. Im so grateful for the level of attention to detail and gentle humanity I experienced today after months in quarantine. It really was a solid experience and one I wont forget.
The Deering estate in South Miami. Amazing place built by a man who was in hurry. Walls are 18 thick.. ceiling beams mantels all made cement.. I went there at Christmas it was majestic. The breeze from the bay was great. Make sure you take the tour go down to the wine cellar and see the huge safe door..
Beautiful place but entrance and trail full of hungry mosquitoes. If youre planning on going make sure to take your bottle of repellent with you. Other than that, this place is beautiful and has a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere.
This natural area is a treasure to Miami-Dade county and the estate is magnificent!Check online and go on the butterfly and bird walks in the back country. The native American burial ground is a magical place to explore!Take the tour of the house. I love the newly discovered secret wine cellar!
Incredibly enjoyable and 100% free. Weve been on a concrete slide in Davis and this one was much more exciting. There are some leftover cardboard boxes hidden behind the metal box thing at the top, and we too left ours for the next visitors.
We were just driving around and came across a sign saying Deering Estate....So I was curious and decided to head there...So when we got there it was something Historical which is something that I do like to see and get to know about. So we walked in and enjoyed the beautiful view and the houses, and I hope after all of this Virus thing we can come back and take a tour inside of the houses that are here we really...really...enjoyed coming across in this location and were looking foward in coming back!!!...
Deering is a hidden gem in our community. It takes you by surprise with its beauty. Loved touring it with my children and finding fun nature paths. You can explore something new each time you go.
Beautiful place. We will return when the museum and guided tour return after the pandemic. Its a nice place to go for a walk ...
Nice, the perfect place to go with your familyAnd make a picnic. Always so quite and peaceful!!!
Awesome place to ride your bicycle and to walk around and see the sunset
I absolutely love Deering Estate! This place is magical... Such a gem! If you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful view, this is it. I havent been to the historical house museum but It looks endearing.
Brought back memories of happiness from my youth. At the time we called it THE WALL
Such a lovely day touring the Deering Estates holiday decorations. The Deering Estate is a hidden gem and must be visited.
Great place to enjoy the views and relax. Bring bug spray, mosquitoes are fierce
Its along old cutler trail, so if you are cycling at that route, have a visit here.
A nice view of a mangrove island from the peoples dock bordering a pine rock natural preserve and welcome center.
Beautiful place if you are looking forward to having a quiet moment with yourself or significant ones in an open space. A place to treasure for sure. I will be back soon!
Spent a full afternoon on the estate. Attended a free tour of the preserve that lasted 1.5hrs and was very informative. My self guided walk through the houses was also nice. View of the bay was spectacular with resident manatees visible.
Just a beautiful place, nothing to do at this time, only kayaking. Today they were setting up a wedding that affected the picture.
So beautiful. But kids bikes not allowed.
This is an awesome place great for photography with lots of walking trails if you want to exercise I suggest you go late in the afternoon
Well the tour guy was awesome. However it was like 1 hr. Tour.I ( we were expecting more time)Well still was nice little tour.Thank you.Mr. Ed
Great place to visit with the family.Beautiful and historic location that is right on the bay.On the south side of the estate there is an area where one can spend some peaceful time looking out into the bay.
Amazing place...so beautiful...
In comparison with many modern parks, time has stopped here, a beautiful estate, amazing nature
Deering Estate was an absolute dream for a winter wedding in South Florida. We chose Deering because of the setting on Biscayne Bay, the flexibility to use the vendors we chose, the ease of inviting additional friends and family to the wedding, and being able to support a local museum. The events team is very organized, rules for the venue are clearly laid out and it was easy for our vendors to work with the location. On the day of the wedding, we had manatees in the bay and flocks of egrets flying overhead to roost during our vows. Spectacular and stunning location.
Nobody was there to disturb My view. It was Perfect!!!
Beautiful place where you can find peaceful atmosphere.
Grat place..lots of history..and knowledgable staff
Interesting history, nice grounds and manatees in the cut. Book a ranger guided boat tour of the lighthouses and Biscayne Bay and it was great (weather was nice, calm winds for our tour).
Beautiful place to walk with family and friends. It had so much historical value and beautiful structures. There are different activities to participate for kids and adults. You can go to the wine cellar, run around the park, take a tour around the historical houses, take a workshop, fish, go canoeing, and many more. The day I went was on New Years Eve and the place had Christmas decorations everywhere. They were also holding a free art gallery for others to see. It was a great way to start a fresh new year with the beautiful landscape surrounding me and my loved ones.
A very nice historic property just south of Miami. If you’re enthusiastic about history, check it out when it reopens along with the Vizcaya Museum.
The houses are ok, but the Boat Basin is very pretty and manatees are resting there.
Neat place to visit if you live a bit further south. Wide lawns and scenic views are very pretty. Houses are very old so I got an allergy attack from the dust. We went just to explore so I cant speak to their tours or events. We got in for a discount. Dont know that Id pay $14/person to visit again.
Love to picnic on the grounds of this beautiful historic property right on the water. Tours of the homes are interesting. Always look forward to their Seafood Festival and concerts!
Its a beautiful place. The grounds are very well kept with lush green grass, native plants and trees. The house is a museum and it can be rented for private events. I imagine a wedding here would have amazing pictures with the view to the bay. There is plenty of open space for nature loving people. There is a walkway that takes you deep into the mangrove, plus several small trails within the Estate grounds which give plenty of opportunities for bird watching. Kayak rentals are available and bikes can be rented as well, but they cant be ridden inside the Estate, only outside its surrounding area. When we arrived in the morning on a Saturday they had a Yoga class underway by the dock. The sea breeze lends this place a magical air and you feel transported to another era and very much in touch with nature.
Wonderful window into history of wealth in Miamis early days... Quite beautiful and well kept.
Sure it would have been great if not for the inside of the house being closed due to hurricane damages. We did manage to get a little bit of a peek though. The estate includes quite a bit of land to roam. Dont forget to wear sunscreen.
An excellent place .... where there is inner peace .... there are mantises on the seashore
Very nice! I loved it. Great pictures can be taken here.
Wanted to visit historical places for so long in South Florida (SF). Today as a surprise we visited this historical place. Which pretty much revealed the foundation of SF. Outdoors was in really good condition but, I wish with the help of technology we could see the past and learn from it. Since most of this site was devastated by a hurricane and has been maintained with a strict budget that restrains it from showing the world history of how we got here.
Good history.....Liked his brothers place ( Vizcaya) alot better!...Nice place for wedding pics...
An authentic Miami experience. Definitely take the tour to the Tequesta Burial Mound. Definitely visit the artists studios. Definitely rent a kayak on the weekend. And definitely take a picnic to relax on Biscayne Bay.
Deering is a lovely property right on the bay. You can picnic by the water or explore their numerous walking trails. The winter home of Charles Deering is nicely preserved. Take advantage of a suite of educational programs, or just relax!
Amazing tourist experience with beautiful bay views. A lot of history, traditions to learn about Florida in this place. Highly recommend it.
We got in for free because today they had some type of deal, so that was great! It was a very beautiful place to spend an afternoon. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by the water and walking around the buildings. This was great because today was free, but for the normal $15 a person, I probably would have hoped for more. Would definitely come for a tor if you’re going to visit.
I love this park you can walking running or fish also excellent place to watch the sunrise and sunset with Starbucks very close
Fun place to explore. Take the nature walk with a guide.
Beautiful space to hang out for a few hours. If you’re not into the history, I might skip this one, but it really is so beautiful that it would make up for it. I’d suggest going on one of the tours, if you have time.
Very nice place with a lot of historical information, in front of water that make the place very peaceful!
Nice historical place. Popular wedding venue. Great view of the bay. Very nice to visit during Christmas. There is an entrance fee.
Always nice my young adult hood for the most part, my old stomping ground
You can get there by car or biking and get into the park for fifteen dollars or instead soak your feet at a little malecón next to it.
Live the majestic banyan trees on the estate
Knowledgeable Docent. Very interesting historic gem right in our backyard (so to speak). Property is undergoing some needed repairs, but that does not impede the beauty of the property.
Beautiful house and grounds. Interesting local history. Plus we got to see a family of manatees up close!
One of my favorite places in Miami. Beautiful views. Community events. History. Weddings. STEM fieldtrips for schools. Nature walks. Amazing scenery and wildlife. Keeping history alive and preserving natural habitats in Miami. So peaceful.
This is a beautiful location and it has a wonderful view. They have amazing events at the estate and it is very well run and established. We had a great time at the Seafood festival and the food, music and event was excellent!
Beautiful as always! What a gem.
Awesome nature tour at the Deering Estate. The property is meticulously cared for and the setting is one you have to see! Great place to see some manatees as well!
Fun place to visit, picnic, and take a tour. Dont missing the underground sunken wine vault thats been flooded!
The Christmas decorations were absolutely wonderful - very nostalgic. Santa (all babies were happy) + pics × activities for the kids. Beautiful, peaceful park!
This place was our school field trip experience. Amazing place and the kids loved it. The activities were well presented to the kids and they had so much fun. Staff wasamazing and organized. Thank you.
Peaceful and beautiful. Take your time.
Beautiful nature and historical site. Tamara was an amazing guide
Not really much to see here, but the view is nice.
Beautiful and relaxing with ocean views! Great place to see manatees and have a picnic. They have all sorts of activities year round. Deerings homes are fun to walk through and learn about, take a tour or just walk around the grounds.
Took the tour and was very impressed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, detailed and had us tasting plants and wild berries. The photos are one of a native burial site and moonlight flower. The cottage and dwelling on the property were also interesting.Totally enjoyed my afternoon.
One of the vest tours we have ever taken and really opens your eyes on how Florida came about, the hidden wine/spirits room alone made it worth your time, highly recommend
The only thing open is ground during COVID. Really disappointed because their website had tickets on sale which we bought but when we got there we were told tickets were only $5 bucks and no they’re not refundable for the online ones. Not much to do or see since you could only walk the grounds and not go into any of the house museums.
Historical house and land. Very beautiful. We visit often and also take advantage of their educational programs. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful place full of peace. The guided tour is a must. Youll find an unexpected surprise at the end of the tour.
It is a beautiful place. There is a lot of walking involved but youll be glad you went.
More than the houses themselves, the estate grounds were breathtaking. The edge of the estate near the old deering estate entrance has a long walkway where all you see is water meeting the sky. The visit was enjoyable, however the visit to the house was informative but I preferred the outdoors more.
Its a beautiful chill quiet spot
Beautiful place. They should open the upper floors of the houses!
Seriously, $15 a person for this place? At least it was decorated for Christmas. No discount for seniors except on Tuesdays $2 off. I am totally fine paying full price for an experience but this place is not worth the entry fee.
I love the gardens, view and the structure in the house....peaceful...beautiful historic place
I found an open gate and rode my bicycle in the trails. This gate is not usually open.
The Deerfield Estate is very nice much larger than the pictures make it seem. Went their for a painting event, they do Tours on my last day there they were preparing for a wedding.
The seafood festival, was amazing! Very well organized&gorgeous atmosphere. Workers was constantly coming around keeping everything clean. I will definitely make this a yearly outing.
One of my favorite places! Great for romantic dates and relaxing time for yourself or family.
Its a lovely place, very peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing. You can bring your family and and have a picnic, there are picnic tables and they also have a free tours of the facilities which is included with cost of admission. I am not giving it 5 stars because it could have more exhibitions, some rooms are extremely empty and lack details, Vizcaya (originally owned by Deering) has way more exhibits and very detailed orientated with all areas preserved as close to the original as possible.
Beautiful location! Ms. Lizzy and Mr. Noel were great presenters to our 3rd 3rd group. Such a great place for indoor and outdoor activities for nature conservation.
Went during the week. Compared to Vizcaya, the two main buildings are quite spartan. However, the grounds are quieter and more accommodating of wildlife. I saw more animals than people there. loads of manatees, a stingray, iguanas, and a bunch of birds. Excellent.
Historic house that has lots of charm and brings to life the history of miami. The special events and tours are great additions.
Wonderful and picturesque place. Jared made the Nature Preserve Tour extremely fun and entertaining, thank you!
Very beautiful and peaceful! Great Christmas decorations! Good value at $15:per person.
Awesome. If you like natural trails go there, if you like history go there, if you like picnics go there, if you like spend time with your loved ones, friends or along in a great outdoor near to the sea thats the place.
First time visiting but wont be the last the wife liked it also
Beautiful place during the day and night. Long interesting history, nice interactive ghost/spirits at night.
Deering Estate is especially lovely on the new year with blue skies and not a cloud in sight! Take a bike ride down the dedicated path and over the Chinese Bridge for a lovely old Florida day trip.
Deering Estate...If youre looking to have a wonderful time and looking to see a beautiful scenery then this place is a spot.I enjoyed the walk path down to the water to see the ocean and I also enjoy the trees as I walk across the China Bridge.Ive been going here for a while even just for exercising and let me tell you I live five miles away so that can tell you a lot. I would rather drive 5 miles for a beautiful scenery for exercising then walk half a mile to a local park that doesnt have a great scenery.
We recently photographed a wedding at Deering Estate-and it was such a beautiful wedding venue! Throughout our visit the staff was incredibly kind and helpful to my team throughout the day. The evening ceremony on the water was incredible!!
It has such a beautiful view. I went for yoga and it’s super relaxing. I recommend to bring mosquito spray.
Beautiful place. A lot of events
Loved the homes and furnishings. The grounds have beautiful views of Biscayne Bay. Truly a gem in Miami Dade crown.
Was a hidden gem and an amazing day....highly recommend spending some time there. Staff was the best gracious, friendly, knowledgeable.
