If you have an opportunity to play here in peak season, its worth it. Yes, youll pay more just like anywhere else in AZ. But, its just a very good option all around and stacks up well against the much higher priced Scottsdale courses. I mean, play them all, of course, but youll love this challenge when its not 110 degrees and in perfect condition. Play the proper tee boxes! Also, their patio for late lunch, early dinner at sunset is as good as it gets for views in the area and they have a chef, its not just a golf course bar.
Absolute horrible experience today. They did not mention the large vacuums would be blowing dust all over every hole. Complete disaster at Las Sendas. I assume the $10 day of play coupon for the clubhouse was their way of making it ok. Do not play here this weekend the course is a disaster. Huge clumps of grass in fairways, tee boxes are either concrete hard or will not hold your ball on the tee. Absolute terrible experience.
Great job with social distancing on the patio at the club house. Good service staff was accommodating and professional.
Excellent course - played from gold tees and it was short ish, in nice shape despite recent seeding. The course guide book provided is gold standard, everywhere should do it.
First time here, we enjoyed drinks on the patio overlooking the 9th green. Great Service. We also had a couple Salmon and Peach salads that were delicious. We put this place on our short list of patios to chill and relax.
Beautiful and challenging course. Some browning on some greens but very well maintained overall. Great facilities and friendly staff. After my first round today, I know that I will return again and again.
Great food and atmosphere. Club area has an amazing sunset view!
Played early Friday morning and was finished in less than 4 hours, rangers kept the pace going. Great conditions, greens fast and true, fairways were green and lush, everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Played once before about 10 years ago and will play again. Great price for what you get, includes cart and range balls.
The course was in very good shape, especially considering the fast warm-up in temps. Greens rolled smooth and were receptive. Always love playing here.
Great course in pretty bad shape. The heat has something to do with conditions Im sure, but these conditions are bad.
Really impressed. Challenging course with incredible views. Definitely will be back very soon. Looking forward to the patio being open.
Came to this course 5 years ago it had a good time. Played here on Tuesday and of course is in beautiful shape greens were fast loved everything about this course. The minute you walk in a pro shop everyone is so friendly that speaks volumes to me will play this course again and again. They really know how to treat people!!! This picture is from hole 18. Took a lesson with James Contreras and let me tell you he was phenomenal!!! I had lessons from Top instructors before but could never understand really what they were saying but James broke it down and I understood. I went in hitting a fade came out hitting a draw left me speechless. I couldnt stop smiling and my face still hurt today from smiling cuz Ive been practicing it every day. If youre struggling with something please book a lesson with him its worth it.
Really great course with lots of variety and challenges along the way. The one major issue we had was the number of rude workers ripping through our hole while we were teeing off or putting. One of the par 3s holes we played had 12 workers on it. This seemed to be the norm on several holes. It was very distracting.
Probably one of the BEST golf courses in Scottsdale area. It has the most amazing views. The course was in immaculate shape. This is a treat. Treat yourself to a great course. The food and drinks in the restraunt were as great as their course.
A hidden gem in the valley....challenging but fair greens were lightening fast today.... this is a course where you have to golf your ball
Beautiful grounds. This staff is exceptionally helpful, I was here celebrating Alice Coopers birthday party it was so much fun. There was morning and afternoon golf then into the evening hours Alice played and there was a couple of more bands that came on. A gourmet, wonderful meal was served. All of the proceeds went towards Alices charities for teenagers and preetis. Wonderful cause. A dozen sponsors Callaway the golf equipment outfit was a huge donator. Chrysler was also a huge donator half a dozen cars of the 2018 s were out beautiful trucks and cars. The old throwback Dodge Charger had a price tag of 50K beautiful vehicle this particular car was the Hemi over 450 horsepower. They also had the standby rugged Jeep in a dark gray color Simply beautiful vehicle. A lot of notable faces were there supporting Alice and its charities. Athletes musicians actors. It truly was an inspiring evening and Alice does a lot for the community.
Horrible experience at this course. Played here a few weeks ago and the course was in horrible condition despite their claims it was overseeding. It felt like we were playing target practice with the lawnmowers driving around the fairways. We were rushed through by the greenskeeper multiple times, rudely may I add. The beverage stations were closed down, and to make matters worse, there is not a beverage cart driving around. It honestly had the feeling of a cheap public course. I reached out to management to respectfully voice my concerns with the course and they sent me back a list of their awards from previous years. Not helpful! There are so many better courses in AZ, I recommend any other course. The views are nice, but might as well go on a hike to see the views and play golf at a much better course.
Course is 5 star but service is 2 or 3 for the price. They didnt have single beverage cart out while we were there. Also got warned twice for slow play while being a full hole ahead of the group behind us. We played in under 4 hours
Very nice course. Challenging. Never will go fully private due to walking challenges for the elderly. Their dining patio has perhaps one of the best views of any other golf dining in the entire Phoenix metro area.
So excited about exploring this golf course some more but so far (with a quick change of bad weather) my daughter and I only had time for a short tour, visit the pro shop and then some food at the restaurant. All service was great but the food needs serious upgrading and does not reflect the caliber of this place. I would love to spend a month or so working there to show them how wow people instead of getting by on convenient location :)
Fantastic facility. Great employees! Our car battery died and they did everything they could to help us.
I enjoy this golf course. It has great scenery and a challenging layout. The green complexes are fascinating and the course conditioning is great.
Course in great shape. Greens FAST. Always nice people at all areas. Always scenic.
Beautiful view from the patio. Happy Hour 2 to 5 pm with tasty appetizers.
The course was in immaculate shape. Very much a risk reward course and it would punish you for bad shots. The staff was amazing, Doc one of the starters was awesome, super friendly and genuine. This is not a place for hacks, serious golfers with good skill levels or you will not have a good experience. The course is tough but beautiful. Would play again and again
Great valentines night..though when we got our check to pay, our gratuity wasnt on original receipt, but added later..we wouldnt have noticed if hadnt looked again....could have doubled tip if we werent attentive...we like using cash for tips. This should show up on original and not after card ran
Picturesque course, but honestly, not wowed by this place at all. No signs saying which hole you’re on, in the summer they start you off at hole 10 and don’t tell you, so you think you’re at 3 when you’re actually on 12, they were completely out of beer and the excuse was that they were “reseeding”. Wouldn’t recommend or return. Red Mountain across the road is 100x better.
Beautiful place. Be ready to play course is challenging
No thanks on this course. Day started off with the bag drop guy with a terrible attitude and the the starter being so rude. Really? It was a beautiful day on AZ and you wanted to ruin it for your customers. The layout of course is around a hill and houses. Tricked up and an odd course. Conditions were good for September, it still just an weird course. If the customer support would have been different when we stepped on the grounds, maybe the review would be better.
We had a lovely evening enjoying Happy Hour and watching the most gorgeous desert sunset. We are coming back regularly! Thank you for yourbeautiful Bar and Grill.Kathy Morris
This is a really great place to get a bite to eat and to have some incredible views at the same time. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping in. You wont regret it. Sit on the patio if you happen to be there during delightful weather.
The golf pro is awesome. The course is nicely manicured and they have the beverage stands located in the correct places. Worth the money for sure.
Greens werent in as good as they usually are, but had a good time!
Nice views and good food. Sometimes its a little busy.
Beautiful course. Need to play it a couple of times to figure out the layup spots.
I am a local business provider in the area, was married at this course and an avid golfer. I golfed today as a single and the course conditions were terrible. It was very slow and management at the course would not address it what so ever. I was going to tee off the back nine and three groups were waiting on deck. When asked about a back nine rain check mgmt said that it’s against policy. I played for $25 and they just lost a full time golfer over $12. That’s how much a hot dog at the course costs. I was told this is a trending issue here and that Rick is a very difficult guy to deal with. Fix the problem and I’ll get a tee time in the future.
If you haven’t visited this golf course, there is still time. The course is in near perfect condition.
The food, service, entertainment, and ambiance were great! Its not cheap, but we knew that going in, so we just enjoyed ourselves!
We enjoyed our time very much food service and atmosphere was excellent.
I paid $50 to play on Saturday 9/29. No one in our group was notified during booking or before checking in and paying that the entire course was scalped. If youve ever attempted to play a scalped course, you know its a joke. Machines and crew continued over-seed preparation during our round, shrouding us in a haze of dust and dead grass. The fairways were rock hard dirt and hadnt been watered in weeks. The greens were the only green grass on the whole course, but were similarly rock hard and wanting for water. As if the conditions werent bad enough, we were constantly pestered by the ranger to pick up the pace, even though we finished our round comfortably within the 4 hours 15 minutes recommended on the scorecard. There was no beverage cart, snack bars were closed, and water coolers at several tee areas were either empty or missing. Management was unhelpful when we raised these issues. We wont be back. Las Sendas, even if healthy, simply isnt worth the trouble. There are so many superior courses in the valley.
Course was in terrible shape, burnt and first day of over seed prepare...werent clear that the course was destroyed and in horrendous condition when we made the booking online - only played one hole and walked off...they wouldnt refund anything...poor customer service. I have no clue why they would even let someone play the course when its in that type of condition.Course may be nice when in good condition however didnt stay around long enough to find out. Will not be back- do not recommend
I think its a hidden gem. Course is well maintained and fin to play.
Super course. Cart path only week of Oct 20, but course is bound to get better in the next few weeks.
Great course inconsistent pricing depends where you look but proshop will not price match
Prices are reasonable. The staff is very welcoming and the course is in great condition. Will definitively come back
I will never come back!! Disappointed in everything about this course!!!
Had an opportunity to play this wonderful track on Monday! The course is already in great shape and the best early season greens in the area! So many great holes and spectacular views!! The new clubhouse renovations are outstanding!! A must play!
Great shape, great course. Would play here more often if price was closer to competitors in the area.
Lovely course with some great views. The greens are really in great shape. Bring your A game though. This course plays tougher than the slope rating...
Nice views for lunch. Enjoyed eating on the patio.
Played the course last week. Great condition, greens roll very true and quick, lush fairways. The only thing we did not like is that we were not told it was cart path only due to over seeding. Played two rounds a day so a lot of walking.Good food and great service at the restaurant. Good place to watch sports with TVs all over the place.Would definitely play again.
We booked a tee time at 2pm for 320pm the same day. When we showed up we were informed that there was a 1 hour frost delay. We were given no discount on the round even though the delay cost us 1 hour of playing time as its dark by 6pm. So we went to the bar and had a couple drinks while waiting. I would understand if we had booked the tee time days ahead but when we booked at 2pm why would there be no mention of the delay when we booked! If we had been aware we wouldve simply went to a different course and played at least 15 holes, instead we got 8 in only. The staff couldve at least been nice about it but were pretty rude about the whole thing.
The grille and patio is a great place to eat and just hang out. Happy hour is great from 3 to 7 everyday.
We were excited to play this course and had a 1:30 PM the time. The staff failed to tell us that a tournament was playing ahead of us. We spent the entire day waiting for these people to finish each hole and congratulate each other as if they were golf gods. It took us 6 hours to play our 18 holes. The Last two were in the dark. The course is nice but there are plenty of other courses in the area that are just as challenging and dont make you feel like theyre giving you a gift to play there.
$8.50 for a hot dog at the snack bar? Really? That’s outrageous. In fact I’m writing this review from Zips sports bar right now and my hamburger and fries and onion rings costs $10. Now THAT is reasonable.
It was our work Christmas party and it was a beautiful place
Excellent course, very hilly and challenging
Beautiful scenery and great rental clubs.
Beautiful vistas and great food
Was excited to play this course, but was met with arguably one of the worst golfing experiences Ive ever had in the valley. I was invited to play for $50 a head and figured that was fairly reasonable for the course and its allure. Sadly, the course decided it was a fantastic idea to scalp the fairways on the same day we decided to play. I understand that its about time to over-seed, but this was terrible communication. There was no warning of this happening on golf now, or by the pro shop while I was paying. I would not have paid $50 if I knew I was going to just be engulfed in a cloud of dust, dirt, and grass clippings. There were even times on the course that we had to wait for the grounds crew to actually finish scalping so we could complete the holes. Had we known about the courses intentions to prepare for over-seeding we would not have played that weekend and waited until the course was in better condition.Interestingly, the above over-seeding issue was not even the worst part of the round. The most frustrating part of the round was the overly eager ranger that kept pestering our group to play faster. Now Im all for ready golf but paced to finish the round in the recommended time of 4 hours. We never once waited on the group in front of us, and never once were met by the group behind us. The ranger also had the audacity to ask us which tee box we were teeing off of. I felt that was rude considering he had witnessed us tee off twice during his rounds, and we were no where near the tips.Lastly, I want to make this criticism constructive because I do want to play at Las Sendas again in all its glory.1) If you are going to do major maintenance and upkeep on the course update your golf now page to reflect that. Or at least update your clubs website to reflect the current status of your course2) There were many times I was hoping to grab some extra water but the coolers were missing from a few of the holes. It can get pretty hot out during the summer in Arizona, ensuring those coolers are present and filled could go along away with golfers.3) It would also be nice if there were some way to know the exact pace of play, some sort of timekeeping device on a few of the holes would be great. I understand the ranger is supposed to help keep pace, but he was a complete clown about it.4) Maybe to keep those coolers full you should send the rangers to fill them up. This might also help with pace of play since that clown wouldnt continue to stop our group every few holes to explain to us how slow we were playing and how we could pick up the paceI hope these suggestions make it to the next Las Sendas staff meeting. Im sure plenty gets accomplished during those meetings. At least the hot dog I had was good, like Costco good. So you got that going for you! Thanks for taking the time to read this review.
Greens could be better.
Great staff & course was in immaculate shape!
Great course. I got a mid morning Hot Deal tee time from GolfNow for a great rate. 1st time for two of us, but the guys that played the course gave us some great tips. Course is very challenging and you gotta play smart rather than just pounding it every chance you get. Cant wait to play it again.
What a beautiful course. A treat to play.
Nice course. People very nice and you can walk if you want.
Beautiful club. Wonderful views
We had are Christmas party there it was great
Good greens, nice sight lines. Challenging enough (21 handicap now, was 14) even the big hitters had plenty as they went to the tips.Fun to reach #18 in two - will hold your focus on tee and shot over lake. (now try and hold that green)Very friendly and helpful bag drop, pro shop staff and starter.Halfway house had a wonderful sausage. Nice spiciness.Great mix of locals using the restaurant after plus Alice Cooper plays there so it works.
Great place to go golfing, all within your neighborhood.
Starter and rangers were rude. We played in 4 hours on a course we had never seen and they kept telling us that we were out of position. Course was ok condition. Nothing special. Too many blind shots.
Great course. One of the cleanest, regularly maintained course I have ever been on!
Great course. The layout is unlike anything that I have played before. Although I grabbed a late twilight time, I was still able get, what I feel was the standard service from the clubhouse and other course workers - range balls and cart included! The course was in great shape for early June, with only one downside - the fairways on the front 9 had recently been aerated so there were dirt clumps all over. Apart from that I would give it a full 5 stars.Overall it was a great experience and I will be sure to come back again.
Course was in great shape, and well laid out. The course played particularly long for me. Its been a while since most of my second shots were woods. It was cartpath only due to over-seeding, which made for a lot of walking. Probably wouldve been better just to use a pull cart. Greens were particularly slow.I gave it three stars because the yardage at this course is a great unknown, which made for a really long day and it was frustrating because I had the wrong club a lot of the time. Sprinkler heads were almost always incorrect as was evidenced by my group who had GPS watches on. At one point I had a 60 yard shot and the sprinkler head said 95 yards, which is a big difference in clubs for me. It just wasnt fun in that way. Also, when you go to a nice course like this, its a disappointment when the pro shop isnt open when you start.Range balls are included, and there is a nice practice green, with a nice chipping area as well. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Nice place for golf. The one down fall is you have to wait long when dropping off your bag at the bag drop. Also this course has no signs that show what hole you are on.
I brought some friends from out of town for golf and we loved it. The course is a great design with a lot of variation and was in excellent condition! First class operation!
0/5 would not recommend. Awful course conditions, on course amenities and customer service. Unequivocally the worst experience Ive ever had on a golf course. Ownership refused to adequately address or acknowledge multiple complaints brought to their attention. Do yourself a favor and go play Dinosaur Mountain instead.
My wife and I had our groomsman dinner hosted here. We rented out the patio for 5pm reservations as we were told the sunsets were amazing. I can attest to this fact as I found my jaw literally dropped when the sun started setting. The food was wonderful (filet mignon) and the service was above average. Helpful but not in the way and made me feel good about getting service. A must try for anyone in the area.
Awesome! One my favorite places! The view the food the golfcourse! Everything is super GOOD! Love it!!!
As a PGA tour player Im proud to call Las Sendas my home. If your looking for a challenging course, or an enjoyable round with breathtaking views this is the course for you. I find the course to be in great shape year around, with friendly faces and exceptional service. The patio at Las Sendas is absolutely stunning with views of the city, cold beers, and great food. Recently the patio was remodeled with misters, fans, and shade allowing you to still enjoy in the summer heat. When my wife and I want to go out there is not much discussion on a place. She simply says lets head to the patio!!If your playing in the summer, you have to remember that there is a transition period where there will be brown spots in the fairways and a few rough patches. However it is 110 degrees outside and there is not much you can do.I still find it a wonderful place to play and practice even during the summer months. By far one of my favorites in the valley.Charlie Beljan
Beautiful course that plays off mountains in the Mesa desert. Very unique and challenging. Nice facilities and friendly service.
Played it in Dec, so rates were obviously high. We got a deal online, so it wasnt bad for us, however Id never pay the usual rate they charge. Its a tight, target style course, with nice views and elevation changes. Good variety of holes, youll use every club in your bag. Its in good condition, has a friendly, down to earth staff, and nice practice area. For my tastes however, it is too difficult, with too many hidden surprises, crazy fast greens, and blind shots. (Im a decent, low 80s player) Dont let the short yardage fool you, its hard. Id play again, for the right price, but Im not in a hurry.
This very well laid out and challenging desert-style course, although spending much of its time weaving through a residential community, still retains plenty of the rugged naturalness of its desert origins. The unobtrusive housing is generally set well back from the holes, with a good-width of desert terrain flanking the contoured fairways.
There Pasta Bar on Sunday’s are Amazing delicious would recommend, you choose the type of pasta you want (create your own) the cook is very quickly and experienced !
I dont know how this club operates on a normal basis, but I took my family during Food Truck Friday and it was a really fun experience. There was plenty of food options and a live band entertaining everyone. A lot of fun.
Great spot for a round of golf, or to enjoy a snack. Beautiful views, challenging holes on the course.
Even if you dont golf its a nice place to eat the foods fine and the views beautiful
Course was awesome highly recommend playing it before it goes private.
Great service. Good drinks and food. Best value golf in Phoenix.
