The lady who works here is awesome, which leads me to my next point, her boyfriend that also works here really needs to keep his personal feelings for her to himself.. its clear he doesnt like it when men talk to her in an extended fashion, Ive been to this establishment multiple times and each time the gentleman behaves this way and never speaks to me as if he is actually offended by her getting that kinda extra attention? Who knows, I dunno shes cool, fish are cool, avoid the dude.

This is my husbands favorite reef shop in the area. It is very clean and there is a nice selection of coral.

Been to many salt water shops in AZ and this is the one that can point you in the direction you are intending to go. You can just tell these people are genuine and are there for you because they like what they do. Prices are very fair and livestock in incredible! They hand pick every couple weeks and it shows. I am not sure why anyone would go elsewhere. A family run business which means no one is working there for just a paycheck.

While we went in prior to them needing to restock the owners were very personalble and answered any of our questions. We purchased some small items to add to our tank and all of them are thriving wonderfully. Cant wait to go back and find a few new things to add!

These guys know there stuff let me tell you. Any question you have they have an answer. And if for some reason they don’t have an answer they will find the answer for you. Great coral selection. Great fish selection. Great store layout making it easy to find what your looking for. They also carry very high end coral. Love everything about this amazing place.

Pretty cool little shop. Geared more towards corals and reefs than fish but they did have a small selection of fish. Enjoyed the setup, layout and quality, however, prices were quite steep in comparison to other stores. Im assuming covid19 probably has some contribution to that though.

This place is awesome. Ive been there a few times and every time has met expectations. They have very good prices. They give honest opinions. I dont know the name of the lady who helped me but you could tell she genuinly cared about the specimens they were selling. Thats rare these days. She and the other employees are very informed. This is hands down the best shop in the east valley. Ive been to them all and i will not go to any of the others again.

By far my favorite shop in the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, good prices, beautiful store, and they had a really great selection from cheaper beginner frags to more expensive colonies. I missed the fish somehow, but spent a significant amount of time checking out the corals and all were very healthy. Will definitely be back.

I suggest calling before heading there. Quite often I go during regular business hours and they are closed for one reason or another. That being said, the prices are fair, displays are immaculate, and livestock all looks healthy.

James took the time to share his knowledge and guide us for now and the longevity of our tank as we asked a ton of questions. Prices were very reasonable compared to some other stores we have been to. With them specializing in only saltwater we felt like the knowledge shared was too notch.

Reef monsters is one the nicest aquarium stores Ive ever been to. The display tanks for all of their fish and corals are beautifully set up, easy to see EVERYTHING, and all the fish and corals look so happy and healthy here! The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for unique salt water livestock.

Drove all the way over here today only to find a note on the door that said they’re closed, presumably for the Super Bowl. It’s a shame they don’t have enough respect for their customers to update their hours on Google. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, the last time I was in here the young woman that works here was incredibly rude and acted like I was wasting her time despite spending a couple hundred dollars in corals. I definitely won’t be back to this place.

Very clean store unlike so many others. Tanks are always clean and live stock looks top quality and healthy. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Chris and Jason are great guys and have a love for the reef hobby that shows in the store.

This is by far the most beautiful and clean aquarium shop Ive ever seen. The staff are very knowledgeable, the prices are excellent. They always seem to have the most beautiful selection of corals for very fair prices.

By far the cleanest fish store Ive been to in Arizona. Its a real shame they are located so far from me, but I will hopefully make another trip soon. The fish all look incredibly healthy, and they have a great variety of rarer fish. The selection of dry goods is also pretty extensive, not to mention they have great prices on everything. I have yet to add corals to my tank, but the coral selection is also vast, and at the time I went, they had a giant squamosa clam. The staff is really friendly, and are super helpful. If you have not visited this store yet, go ahead and make the trip.

Great store! I stopped by with my family and Jorell was really helpful and friendly. The store is a little smaller but actually has a better selection than many of the other stores. Everything was really clean an maintained. I definitely would recommend Reef Monsters to anyone in the Mesa area.

Disappointment. They sold me a bunch of fish. Gave me absolutely no information about one of them. Nice associates. Unfortunately when money is involved friendship cant exist. Expensive live rock. Expensive sand. Their equipment is usually 20$ more expensive than anazon. When i brought it to their attention they said they have to make money . No offer to pruce match at all. They have 2 beautiful dogs . Big dogs. If youre lucky they might be there. Friendly place to take the kids . Just need to work on pricing on certain animals.

Very cool little fish store! Probably my favorite Arizona fish store of all! They have astonishing prices on corals and all there fish are healthy! ( the only unhealthy fish were a mandrian and emperor angle but there not that hardy and compared to all there healthy fish, its not bad! ) Would recommend for all of your rare pacific fish and corals!

Theyre not tropical. This place is for matine aquariums with a focus on reefs. Still for a freshwater aquarist, like myself, this place has frozen food, filters, filter media, medicines and reverse osmosis water.

Negative experience. Bought two fish from them. A ruby red dragonet that was dieing in the bag before release at home, and an African leopard wrasse that took 10 days to die slowly from emaciation. I called the shop to let them know about the dragonet floating at the top of the tank when I got home, they said that happens and theres nothing they can do about it. But what upset me the most is the fact that the owner brags that he goes to California to hand pick all of his livestock yet he could not guarantee me that my leopard wrasse did not die of cyanide poisoning. I am fairly confident that my leopard wrasse died of cyanide poisoning, and even a fish that was dying on the way home from their store they would not cover. He even notified me when I called him that he just brought those fish back from California the day before but he never mention that when he bagged the fish up in the store and sent me home with it. I think a store proprietor should have a little more responsibility to notify you that the fish youre about to bring home has already been through overwhelming stress and may not make another move and acclimation to a new tank. For this reason I will never buy fish there again.

I don’t really shop here anymore because the customer service is much to be desired. I used to shop here every week, but after awhile they take you and your money for granted.

Their customer service is amazing. There was a guy and a girl working there while I was in, and its because of them that the store is getting this rating. They have a no return policy.I picked up a few cheap zoas and a few hermit crabs. The zoas looked great in their display case. Once I got home and took a closer look at it, not only was it COVERED in aptasias (many small ones, a couple larger ones that had been on the bottom of the live rock) there was bubble algae mixed in with the polyps, red bugs crawling on the bubble algae, and Im pretty sure I saw 10+ Vermentid snails on there as well. I had to sell it, since this was going to be my first coral and I didnt want to infect my whole tank from the start.The other two small zoo colonies seem okay. One has giant sponge on it, and Im pretty sure its killing the polyps. Im not sure if I want this one in my tank. The third one, though, seems to be free of parasites.Im not sure if its just because I bought the cheap corals or what, but I was pretty damn unsatisfied with what I ended up with from their store. Its a very far drive for me, so I dont think Ill be going back there anytime soon.
