Beautiful park that’s free of charge. Great for casual walking or jogging, and typically isn’t too busy and has adequate parking. Love that they have the goats out (sometimes you can walk with them) and the views of NYC from the top. Also nice and calming to walk out on the pier when there’s a cool breeze. I’ve seen everything from woodpeckers to cats and lizards on the path. Recommended.
I enjoyed my time here. The park isnt that big you can actually walk around the entire park if you dont make any pitstops in between, but its usually the stops and locale you come for. There are some gorgeous views on the walk way looking out on the LI sound. As well as some small alcove trails for the couples and their alone time. The parking is.....well a bit confusing cause when I went I was directed to one parking area only to find out theres actually two and one of them is at the entrance to the park; but if thats the case, why direct me to the one where I have to walk ways to get there?Anways, I enjoyed coming to Norman J. Levy park and I would come back again if and when its not all packed like the last time.
Nice place to walk but no regular bathrooms to use. Only porta pottys that dont flush, I was told. The park closed down for an hour when it got too crowded to allow some people to leave. Parents should monitor their children more carefully, especially when they are around the animals that live in the preserve.
I’ve been here twice and all I can say is it’s beautiful. Come early on a bright sunny day and bring a light jacket. Views are amazing and no entrance fee. Hours are 7am to 6:30pm. Parking is limited and free. Expect to walk about 2.5 miles. You ca see Manhattan skyline and Jones beach theater from here. I saw someone fishing as well.
This gem of a local park has three walking trails of various lengths and elevations. Clean, quiet and a great place to get some much needed exercise. Pygmy goats on the property are used to keep vegetation in check and they have their own barnyard which is adorable. There are work out areas along the paths, and also signage that tells you where you are and a phone number if you need assistance. Parking was no problem. I plan on visiting this park frequently for long walks. Open from 7 am to 7:30pm.
Nice family walk with the ability to start socially distanced from other people. We did the blue loop, which is the one with the fitness trail. Its pretty sunny, bring a water bottle. The pier gives a nice breeze when you get to it! Kids saw crabs in the water and some pretty large horseshoe crab shells!
It was great to get out of the house, get some exercise and enjoy the views. Lots of trails to choose from. Loved the African pygmy goats.
Really a great place to go for a run or just a walk. Great view of the water and I even got to meet one of the dwarf goats.
A little cold today but a very nice and easy walk. Saw 2 Osprey.
Great walking path. Very relaxing and nice views. Trails were wide and spacious
I love this Park. Been walking there for many years. Its truly great. However, since the Pandemic I have only gone twice. People do not wear their masks. 1 out of 10 will wear a mask. Many just carry the mask on their hands like a bracelet. There is not much space to avoid people not wearing masks especially if they are in a group. I went today and its still the same situation. Been going to Eisenhower Park and I think Ill stay there for the time being
Many walking trails. Walking one of the tails we were greeted by a group of goats! It was an enjoyable park to visit. There were exercise spots. It is definitely a park worth visiting!
Perfect place to take a easy stroll. Mostly shady trail on a hot summer day. Dont forget to say hello to the goats.
Beautiful views. Fun hike with a slight incline. love the goats, chickens and ducks
Small but pretty landfill-turned-park with views of the water
Great hiking trails. Very surprised about how high one trail goes. Great views. Can even see the Manhattan skyline. No biking permitted.
This is an amazing park full of wildlife, clear paths, and scenic views at the peak. Im awestruck on how they transformed a recycling landfill into a green oasis.
Very pleasant...my only concern is the fact that its built on landfill...scary
Its a really nice walk with a gentle grade. There are so many wild flowers and creatures to look at and learn about. The goat barn is a huge hit with the kids. At the top, there is a nice view of the city skyline on clear days (my family actually watched the twin towers fall from there 18 years ago!).
A lovely walk with views of both the water and the NYC skyline. Also a great place to see the preserves Nigerian dwarf goats (who also walk the trail various times during the day) and other local wildlife.
Its the perfect get away, time to reflect, slice of nature in our own backyard.
A nice view. Great for family hangout
Amazing Views, Great Trails, Its A Great Place for Clarity And Piece of Mind
Nice weekend trail to walk. Not a lot of shade for rest.
This is a beautiful outdoor Oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Long Island Life. The walking paths are smooth and easily walkable, making for great access to the sun and surf, if you go out on the pier! Its a great way to see nature in your own backyard.
Its a beautiful place to go with families but there were a lot of people not wearing masks which was very disappointing.
Beautiful, relaxing, and perfect anytime of day. Enjoy a brisk walk or run, while soaking up the sounds of nature and water views from the pier.
A beautiful 2 mile walk that gets your heart beating and is a feast for the eyes
Hiked to the top with a couple of my friends. Definitely a nice little workout. The view from the top was amazing! Stopped at the petting zoo before we left. A great way to spend the afternoon!
I love this place! Such a great hiking trail which is close to home! The goats make it even more enjoyable! I love when they take the goats out on a walk in the morning. Gives me motivation to get up and walk with them. I tell everyone about this place and there like goats? Goats in L.I. And I’m like yeah let’s go.
This is an excellent park to go for a walk, run or fishing off the peir. The animals are a joy for the kids the grounds are clean scenery is beautiful. If you find your too tired to make it back just give them a ring and they will be right there to bring you back.
Its a nice walk to the top of the hill. Lovely scenery. I love seeing long island from above!
A nice outdoor trail with very scenic views at the top. Bring your bug spray, can be a bit buggy. Nice for a stroll or even for cardio. Would recommend particularly those who like views of the water.
Love it here. Such a great place for a walk. Very peaceful and beautiful!
A couple of nice spots to see with a long paved walking trail. Unfortunately it is right next to the garbage dump and it reeks of garbage and diesel. There are much better places in Nassau to visit.
Super, very nice and clean, beautiful views
A great walk with golf cart accessibility for those who cant make the climb!
Had an excellent time at the preserve. Its beautifully kept and it is refreshing to take a walk around the park and pier. You can even ask for a pickup and dropoff at the pier if you cannot walk it. The goats were so cute and we got to see the osprey nest and ospreys and other birds. They have a pretty cool sundial and the views from the top are great
Beautiful park. They have three trails you can walk. The trails range from easy medium and hard. Once you get to the top your greeted with a beautiful view! You can see the city on a clear day. Theres also free binoculars on the top. A small pond where ducks swim and a giant windmill. If you get tired and cant make it just call the number and tell them what post tour at and the friendly park staff will come and get you with there electric trolley cars. They also have a few animals such as Nigerian dwarf goats and chickens and rooster. When you finally make it to the top dont forget to take a picture, they have a spot that says smile.
Bringing back memories when I did my eagle project there it was awesome love this place
Great little park/preserve off the Meadowbrook parkway with decent parking capacity, a kayak launch, bathrooms facilities, a pier, a little windmill and views (on a clear day) of the NYC skyline and even goats that at times are taken out to graze. There are even exercise stations of you are so inclined.
It is an interesting little park. The goats and chickens are cute and fun to watch. The trail is nice up to the top of hill. The fishing pier is worth the walk down to the end. The park is most scenic at top of hill. The views to east and south are very nice, the view to west is mixed it the distance on a nice day there is a great view of the NYC skyline but the near views is an industrial park. But overall it is worth the trip to visit this park.
Super relaxing. Loved the little work out stations along the route. Will definitely be back
Very nice walking trails less the nets. The entire trail is approximately 2.6 miles. They should incorporate a dog park or an area for dogs.
Everyone mentions this is a great place to run, walk, see beautiful views and they are right about all that. But I will add there Is a boat launch for kayaks and canoes here as well. You find the launch on the right side of the parking lot when facing the trails. Get your boat jump on the water and now you can see more beautiful views.
Real nice park, plenty of walking so keep that in mind.
One man’s past trash is another man’s current treasure
Good park for a run or walk. You can see all the areas around the park if you walk to the top. Not much shade so expect a lot of sun exposure
Is very relax, beautiful place.
Interesting little reclamation project here on what appears to be an old landfill. Well kept trails and dwarf goats with a combination of residential, industrial, and forced natural scenery.
Nice place for running and watching sunset Manhattan ‘skyline
Very nice beautiful walk! Love the scenary and right when I entered saw this cutie goat! This is the place to be if you love nature walks with beautiful scenary and animals!
It is a great time .
Look at it this way, used to be a garbage dump now its a beautiful nature preserve. Im glad they made a negative into a positive
Love this park take my kids for walks on weekends they love to wach the animals and enjoy the great view.
Beautiful view. Great trail. They have goats which is pretty cool. But its right next too a garbage dump so the smell isnt too pleasent.
Really nice walk with the goats! Terrific place for a little exercise and a nice view at the top by the windmill.Seagulls got me though with an aerial assault, so beware! Restrooms bottom of the hill and by the pier.
Great place to wander for an hour or so. Great views of the Great South Bay, Long Island and even New York City. Definitely a unique perspective on the South shore of the island. Also the goats are the coolest.
Really nice what they did with this land.
Its a great place to take a walk and enjoy the scenery of Long Island
The perfect views, great walking/running trails. Clean, serene, peaceful place to be on a warm sunny day
Great preserve for a morning walk/run. My favorite parts are the goats and the dock. Poor goats need more food though, they were chewing through their wooden pen.
Beautiful park by the water that has walking trails to the top of a hill. From the top you have views of the city and also of the
Really neat place for a hike!
Peacefully and great exercising aren
Great walking trail, beautiful views, adequate facilities. Parking lot can get a bit crowded, but that just shows how popular it is.
A beautiful oasis hidden away on the border of Freeport and Merrick. The goats are adorable and the trails beautiful, scenic and clean. A great place to go for a lunch time walk!
Good place to walk, nice view. ..Love it
Only hill on the South Shore. Plus the Nigerian dwarf goats are friendly.
We starting walking here. Great trails and the scenery is beautiful
I love this park. Great routes to cover. I have t seen bikes but lots of walker, joggers and runner. Occasionally, goats taking a stroll. Which is super cute. Great view of the water, birds, the city and LI’s nature landscapes.
Beautiful, scenic views of South Shore Long Island, the bay, and even the Manhattan skyline! There are goats, chickens, and other creatures on premises. Go to the Ranger Station to sign up for a guided kayak tour! Oh, and theres also a fishing pier you can walk to. Overall, a great experience and beautiful place to spend a couple hours. At the top if the hill there are 2 ponds as well! Have a great time! :)
This hidden gem
Always gotta love this place
Nic park. Lots of space of walk.
Very cool place
Nice place to walk, specially after ranning, lol, joking, but is nice.
Fun park/trail thats right hy the water. Its free, parking is convenient (I went on Labor Day, it was a bit busy, but I was still.able to find parking), its a great place for exercise, and youll see some animals along the way. My family and I were talking to the park ranger, he was very friendly and knowledgeable when asked him about a fishing license.
Walked the preserve. Cloudy but comfortable walk. Nice breeze. Not crowded. Loved it.
Beautiful preserve, goats and birds all around.. shell walkways. Feels like youre not in long island until you see the skyline. Best place to run in Nassau county.
The trail is great and includes stations where you can perform various exercises. Plus some breath taking views
Love this place for a run ora nice walk
Great photo ops! Merrick harbor
Great place that is well taken care of. I love when they take the goats out to walk on the trail!
Nice hike, pretty views of the Sound.
First time there i was amazed I will come back on my next day off
This is the best hike on the south shore!!!
Always like walking/ hiking this place and did kayak tour once. They also have goats.
Great place to run and enjoy the surroundings.
Good hiking trail for all skill levels.
Its a gem this park.
This is one of my favorite parks, Boardwalk is awesome just got to watch out for the guys fishing
Great walk/hike plus views and dont forget the goats!
Just natures!
There are goats, chickens and goose to look at. It is a great place to walk if you want to walk in nature. There as your walking you might be lucky to see a bunny or walk with a goat.
Great place for a long walk.
