Stunning grounds with awesome trails for walking, running, biking, pushing, etc. Saw a bald eagle and many other birds. Stunning with the fall colors in mid November. Can host or have events there too as well as boat, use the playground, find shade, have a picnic!

Not far over the Mississippi state line in the town of Meridian, MS Bonita Lakes Park is an expansive network of trails, roads and water that provide lots of area to get away for a quiet walk, reading a book or a picnic with the family. There are several playgrounds, covered shelters and bathrooms. It even has equestrian trails.

Great outdoors space with a paved loop, easy hiking/biking, pavilions, boat launch (idle only), horse trailer parking. Will most certainly be going back. According to AllTrails, the loop is 7.6 miles.

Nice to grab lunch somewhere and go to park to have a picnic lunch. Can either use the pavilion or a picnic table. Since covid 19 has a lot of places restricted to drive thru window only, it is a nice option to be able to sit out at the park and enjoy lunch.

I use to love live in meridian Mississippi. Born and raised. Bonita likes has a clean safe and welcoming environment. You can go fishing or bird viewing. Enjoy the view while walking the beautiful trails. I would suggest to go on a peaceful trail walk or jog in the fall or spring. The scenery is most beautiful at those times of the season. And this location was one of my favorite locations growing up in Meridian,MS. Its so special to me that I wanted to share my joy I have at Bonita lakes. Take your loved ones up there. I will be when I visit.

Boy I was thinking about what star rating to give and really its an easy 4 star park in my opinion, pretty close to 5. Would be if they had camping right in the park. This place is very cool. Great cement walking path around the one lake and so many trails all over the place. Can walk the road walking/biking path or hike the hills. We have done many. Our dog did pick up some ticks in our hike through the woods so be ready. The scenery is wonderful amd we have seen many deer. You can horseback trail ride, bike, fish, picnic and has a nice playground. Seriously for outdoor fun its a great place. And well kept grounds. We love going for an afternoon or day. Definitely worth check it out.

The is a very nice park, but be warned that dogs are NOT allowed on the pathway around the lake. Although, I understand that some owners are to lazy to clean up after their pets, this did spoil the visit for us.Picnic pavilion near the childrens playground was nice and clean. The playground equipment was in great condition and no signs of vandalism. The view is stunning and well maintained lawns and to the beautiful view.

Our go to summer spot to swim, take our pets for some exploring, and just general chill time! I wish there were some step for easy access but sometimes if you get there at the right time you can get on the one walk up to the water spot. Not sure maybe it isnt meant for a usual swimming area.

Great trails, the grass stays well maintained, restrooms clean and there’s no shortage of wildlife. With plenty of shaded areas to sit and structured park equipment to workout on, this park is Meridian’s greatest asset. You can lengthen your gait and stride on the well kept 1.19 mile track around the lower pond are build your thighs on the 3 major hills built into the 5-mile hiker through the woods where access can be gained at the boat ramp. Numerous restrooms, pavilions, park grills and a large stationary map down the hill across from the park maintenance office tells you not only where you’re at but where your going as well. I feel that 1 or maybe 2 portable out houses might be beneficial scattered along the 5-mile hiking trail but all in all the bike and even horse trails establish this nationally funded park as a hot spot in the meridian and greater meridian area.

This a great park for walking, hiking, biking, boating, and picnicking. Restrooms are located throughout the park. There is a paved walking path around one of the lakes just for walkers. For children there is an area with well-maintained playground equipment. Parking is available at trailheads which are well marked. There is enough to do for a full day of outdoor entertainment, but also a great park for a quick picnic or just to stretch the legs.

Im not sure when I went here but it looks like a great place to visit and i would like to recommend that you would try new things instead of laying around all day doing nothing new. As you sit around watching your life pass you by because you are too lazy to get off the couch. By the time you think to yourself maybe it is time to go and do something, it will be too late because you will be too old. Regretting your entire life you die all because you didnt do the thing you always wanted to do when you were young.
