This is fun place to take the kids in the summer. But seems a bit high. Its $8.25 to SPEND your money there. The employees were friendly and helpful. But mostly the machines were outdated and broken. A couple of them didnt even give tickets. Others just took your money and not operated. Granted it was only nickels but if you on a budget its gonna hurt. There was a place to throw birthday parties and sit and eat in relative privacy. But no where else. As a mom, leaving my kids there wasnt a option because of the panhandlers. Overall, it was very retro and glad my kids got to see what it was like without an electrical device in hand and interact with other kids.

Everything there is wonderful and employees are awesome. The only downfall is their prize selection isnt the greatest. I would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the small prize selection.

Great fun for everyone. We got a lot of tickets. $2.95 to get in, even if you arent playing any games. The most a game cost was 20 cents, there was a lot that were just one nickel to play. Definitely recommend.

During covid 19 2020 this is a true Haven for kids to release a bit of anxiety and have fun and its very reasonable

I love the nickel arcade! I have been coming here basically my whole life. The games are fun, the prizes are fun. All around good environment. I know it looks a little run down, but dont judge a book by its cover. It awesome and affordable. They also have free play games in the back if youre not interested in spending for games.

Heck ya! This place is awesome! For me there is a whole lot of nostalgia playing games that were super popular from my childhood. These days though it’s more about fun for my little ones and there is plenty for them do there. There’s coin rides and claw games. Plenty of games to earn tickets for toys.The staff there is super nice and friendly. They were so kind to our little one and even gave her a little bonus on her tickets to get the toy she wanted. Not only that but I can play galaga for free!

A great way to spend an affordable afternoon with your family. The back wall is all free games. A smart idea for a business and it was ran good enough. It was clean enough and my sons had a great time. They are 11 and 7. Quality time. We had a blast.

Its so unfortunate that to this day and age my sons and mom had to experience racism at this place. My mom took my 3 boys for the 1st time to have a fun time and the man that attended them eye balled them from head to toe and was rude very poor customer service.

Cheap, addictive, and FUN!!! Theres a 2.95$ admission fee though. Ran out of nickels? Theres FREE games in the back of the arcade to play like pacman or galactica.

My kids loved it!! Im only giving it 4 stars because... at least 5 games were broken, but they still enjoyed themselves. Also I noticed a few for sale signs on some of the games and display cases, but that has nothing to do with my rating. I have no clue if they are closing up or whats going on. All in all my kids did have fun even if some games didnt work. Its a great place to let kids run free and its not expensive so thats always a plus.

How could I NOT give this place five stars?! This place has been in my childhood ever since I found out about which was when I was seven years old back in 2007. And now even in my age (18) I still come back here with my little brothers and show them how to actually play a game. For anyone looking for a place to have fun with he family or to embarrass a date by showing off your skills on gaming, this place is IT. And also if you get enough tickets, you could get a prize that is worth way more than a couple of nickels.

I loved nickel city as a kid and was bummed when they closed down. I moved to merced just over two months ago and saw that this arcade was right across the street! Of course I had to check it out with the kiddos. They had a blast and I enjoyed being an arcade kid again lol. Will definitely be coming here more often.

I dont mind paying the entry fee. As long as the games works. I spent 3 hours there and more then half of the games dont work. The ones that do eat your coins.very old games. Yes they are cheap but at what cost.. waste of time for me and my kids.

We went on a Friday night and surprisingly it was super busy, which made the experience more fun with more people in the arcade. Its not helpful when youre trying to cash out your tickets, but playing games it is.They need a better system for when people cash in on their tickets.

Not worth paying the entrance most of the machines were not working and tickets were not coming out, plus only one worker doing everything. If this place is giving them money they should invest for a better Arcade

This was a great place to have family fun. There was a $3 per person cover charge but the arcade games are a nickel. Some are up to three nickels per game. I saw that some people were having a birthday party! I wish we had something like this where I am from. I would have my sons birthday party there all the time. We had fun as a family and it is entertaining.

Ticketmaster was super friendly and helpful. Everyone had a good time. Nice, big play areas for kids to play and wonder. Lots of arcade games. My son was happy with the prizes.

A place to go and have fun with the family with out spending an arm and a leg. Recently went with my daughter and husband $20 each after entrance fee lasted us hours.

This place is awesome it does get hot in there because all the people and arcades but wow arcades for a nickle! The kids love love love this place!

When three 14 year old teenagers dont answer their cell phones because its so loud inside the establishment they cannot hear them. A concerned parent calls to be reassured they are there indeed there, just to give a quick look and I am told they are too busy to bother and to come check for myself. Last I looked those where three paying customers still. With the incidences rising of our teenage girls and young women being followed in stores and parking lots as well as being drugged in yogurt shops in the Merced area you would think that since this is a so called family establishment that they would take the two minutes or less that it would require. Instead I had to drive back across town in a frantic worried mess because you were too busy to bother. Thank you so much for looking out for our children while they are paying customers at your establishment.

Cool place for kids. Only place around with old school games. People have to undestand theyre old mechanical games not digital they break down. Would give five stars but they pull a scam where they dont give change. If you pay the $4 to get in with a $20 they will give u $16 in nickels as change so you use them in the arcade. So pretty much they should just say we keep your change.

Had so much fun for my nieces birthday my kids had a blast! The only thing was as it got closer to closing time there were a lot of people acting strange out side and around the parking lot and entrance to the arcade!

A nickle doesnt go a long way, and some of the machines actually require quarters! Never the less its a ton of fun and the prizes are all cute and quirky.

Went last night with my fiance and we had a blast. Fun date night place :) its awesome that the games are so cheap. The guy behind the prize counter went above our expectations. He was friendly and made our night :)

Ive come here with my niece and nephew a few times and I would say this is a decent place. There are good things and bad things about this arcade.The good:The machines are pretty cheap (about 10-15 cents per go).Free machines are available.There is a room specifically for hosting birthday parties.The bad:There is an entrance fee.Prizes are a little limited in terms of what you can get when compared to other arcades.Not much in terms of machine variety or quantity.In conclusion, its a good place to bring a kid or kill a couple hours, but dont expect anything ground breaking. Its a modest place with modest selection.

Loved this place. Wish they still had a nickel arcade near me. My girlfriend and I stopped by on our way home from yosemite area. We had a blast. Only reason for 4 stars was quite a few games were out of order and had to get maintainence guy a couple times for machines that didnt dispsense tickets. There was a whole back wall of free play games too though. Some were kind of messed up but others worked well. Really had a great time and its a pretty cheap source of fun.

It would be so much better if the carpet was taken out... It smells in there of BO? Its a good place for b-day parties as long as you make sure to have hand sanitizer...it has been there for a long time...I kno they make enough money to upkeep it. This is the only other place in Merced besides the arcade on the mall and thats if its still there. For young kids to have some kind of fun besides playing video games at home. I didnt go into the arcade area just to the party section. I almost didnt walk in ...but had to grandbabies b-day party. Upkeeping this place should be a priority since its been there for birthday parties.

No kidding this is really a nickel (5 cents) arcade! Machines are from 5 to 15 cents TOPS and no more. There are plenty of machines and it is good on your wallet. A must check out spot if you are just passing through town.

Manager here, Ken, is a really great guy. For the money, this is a fun little hole in the wall to hang out with your kids. $15-20 for myself and one child will get you a few HOURS of fun. Old school arcade games mixed with the typical gimmicky cheesy money sinks, combined with the feel of an old boardwalk arcade, its fun.

Very fun place. Family fun for all ages. Games range between 5 and 15 cent a play. 20 bucks among 3 kids and 2 adults lasted about an hour and a half. Brought the little 10 month old with me and ppl are very pleasant. Didnt have to worry about her being ran over. Lol. The prizes are so/so but I mean thats the same with any aracde. If you wanna treat your kids on a tight budget... this place is for you!
