EDIT:Im moving from one to 2 stars because while my money was refunded (after 10 months, and 5 months after the show was cancelled), it took me calling the venue out on social media, both here and on Facebook, to get anything to happen. I stand by my words that they did not answer a single one of my phone calls or return any of my emails. So if you purchase tickets to ANY show at this venue, be ABSOLUTELY SURE you dont care if you never see your money again, even if the show doesnt happen.(Original review).Purchased tickets to a show that was postponed. Later found out the show was cancelled. Have received NO refund, and the venue doesnt return emails or phone calls. I would give zero stars if I could.HAPPY to edit this review if a refund is given.
Very cool place with a lot of nice sights/scenery! I would love to come back here, it seems like a great place for venues. Saw the recent Skillet concert there, it was awesome! Only complaint is the lack of air conditioning, it got so, so hot in there with all those bodies. But an amazing concert experience nonetheless!
I have been to numerous events and shows hosted by this well-known Memphis venue. Three Days Grace, V3 MMA fights, and Bacon & Beer Fest are just a few examples of the many memorable nights I have enjoyed here. They do also have kid-friendly events quite often which is a huge plus for parents like us. I think my favorite part about Minglewood is simply its location: perfectly posted up right in between Midtown & Downtown on a major road. Its impossible to miss and definitely one of the most unique venues youll find in town.
Great venue for anything. Bartender named Susan is fine as hellllllllll
Great multi- use music venue!
Saw Allen Stone here and it was amazing! The venue is spacious clean and in a great location. The sound was perfect and the vibe was great! Definitely going back for the next concert of interest!!!
This is a small venue, mostly standing room. So if youre there to really see the artist, feel the music, and have a good time, you will love Minglewood Hall. If youre expecting to sit in a chair and watch the artist from a big screen 500 feet away, then it isnt for you. This place has excellent acoustics, a full bar, and reasonable parking for $10. We had a great time seeing Marilyn Manson!
I think they could improve on seating. I wore flats and my feet still grew tired as well as hurt. The floor is concrete Im sure for easy cleanup. Drinks and beer were spilled all night long. I ENJOYED Ashley McBride though. I ALWAYS enjoy the artists that come there. Its just the FLOOR.........
Went to the Nightwish concert. Besides the fact that they absolutely rocked, the venue was just so perfect. Loved how it was later out and they had a bar running with prices that weren’t too bad for a special event.
Had a amazing time at the 11th Annual SCM AWARDS!! The venue is really nice. My Sky Box was well stocked and the crowd was awesome!!!#LjDaJoker
It was nice and clean on the inside. I attended a live concert and it was packed wall to wall. There were only chairs for the V.I.Ps. It is a nice venue though
Always fun. If you go to an event here, make sure youre comfortable because there most likely wont be a place to sit.
This is an awesome venue! Feels historic, and its standing room only. Saw Foxing and Coheed and Cambria here. Meet and greet went off without a hitch, bartenders were super friendly, and the local fans were lovely. Good view of the stage and well laid out.
Great place for events. Acoustics are wow! Did not know it was several venues inside, a little bar, tattoo parlor, dance studio and more!
Only been there once for a chill band that I love but it was stand up only. No chairs! Wont go back unless I know there is seating available
A great place to catch an intimate show with some of your favorite bands! I would definitely recommend catching a show there whenever possible.
Acoustics are alright but the bands they have been pulling in definitely overshadows this. Usually small bathroom lines if any & a few bars elevates waiting on a drink. Overall, a well thought out venue.
Amazing venue. I like how they accommodate multiple clubs in one building. Architecture of the building is super dope.
Always a great time! Saw Star and Micey and Carolina Story! Great venue!
Great place for a concert. Their security was great and it wasnt packed. They have a good setup and the bars are great
Oh my goodness this place is exceptional. This was my first time attending a event here and I was truly amazed. I love how the place is setup so several events can be held at the same time...
Minglewood is a great place to see a show. The staff is friendly and the prices they charge for everything from tickets to drinks of any kind are fair. They have two places inside to see a concert one smaller and can hold maybe 400 people while the other could hold around 1500. The acoustics are really good inside as well. Support this place looked on Madison.
Parking was good if you arrived fairly early. Several independent functions were going on, but did not interfere with each other. Spacious and good drinks at the cash bar.
An amazing place to see live music and host an event. Its so versatile with the led lighting making it all look awesome.
Attended a Wale concert here, mature crowd, nice size venue capable of holding a large crowd without being overcrowded. Likely to return
A very good concert was held here. Ky-Mani Marley really brought in good vibes & the energy he gave us was great
Went to see Travis Greene at this place. The show was awesome and Travis was Travis everything that I expected. This was a change of venue, because the New Daisy Theatre had closed its doors and this venue was the replacement venue. Ticket prices were 50.00 and 25.00 dollars and I never saw the distinction between the areas. It was more of a general audience seating. It was more 1st come 1st serve. The area of the venue is a bit dated. It appears to be a multi-purpose facility with a great deal going on in different areas. I would say that it was hard to notice in the natural flow of traffic, .maybe not so much for the people that know the area. Seems to be kind of set off from the renovated parts of Memphis. The FedEx Forum area is different, down around Union Avenue, and the Beale Street area. The Convention Center area.
I love to come here for almost every concert. Is great place with great sound.
A lot of complaints about sound but it really depends on the band performing set up. Saw Ghost and Riff Raff here an both sounded great. There is lots of room to dance and since seating is not assigned you have a good chance of standing right in front of the band.
First time ever hearing of this place and it was a great time. You wont regret going here.
Went here for a concert and was impressed. Lots of open space, and bars on both sides of the venue. Not much more than an open space, but for a concert venue it fits the bill.
Seen a few acts in The BSide and the 1884 Lounge. Both have good sound and solid bars. Georgia was my bartender on Sunday and shes great! Kept my glass full.
The lightning and sound could not be better! Best venue in Memphis by a mile! The drink prices are a bit high but thats everywhere nowadays.
Enjoyed the music of Highly Suspect. Great service from the bar but it was standing room only, no tables or seats... At all. Good acoustics but the concrete floor got a little tough after 4 hours. And as a correction to the information posted about Menglewood, TN.... It is just West of Dyersburg, TN. I love there and I bought my home from the family that owns the land where the remains on the settlement and old sawmill once stood. Come to Dyersburg and Ill take you to see it.
Great place to listen to some music. Local music and more can be heard here. Pretty easy to park, nice laid back environment with beer and liquor during shows. Was here just last week and had a great time listening to CBDB and hanging out
Attended a fashion show; great venue, ample parking
Great experience at DreamFest 2020 by CLE Events. Great atmosphere great music great drinks.
Great place for entertainment!
It was small enough to feel like u and the talent were in the same room at a small gathering but large enough to allow the sound to engulf the crowd at an enjoyable level and to allow the patrons to become as frenzied as they desired! I thourly enjoyed each visit to this venue!
Been to numerous events here and always professional staff and great venue!!
Awesome venue for live wrestling! Not a bad seat in the house!
Felt very safe, great security, food a music were good as well
It was awesome I waited 30 years to see overkill. Super friendly staff Im from Atlanta so I really enjoyed Memphis
Love the juju surrounding this venue. So many different things, genres and events. The staff is always great, and parking is always handy!
Such a great venue for young musicians to get a taste of what its like to be on a large stage with great lights and sound
I went for a medium sized concert (Beartooth). Ive been twice and the first time at barricade was absolute torture because they dont have AC at all it seems like. This last time I went and we hung out near the middle/back. It was 10x better. It got hot, but not nearly as bad as the first time. They have a full bar and plenty to drink. They are expensive as you would assume. About $3 for a medium sized cup of Coke. Its a smaller venue, but be prepared if you go. Its 100% standing. It does help that they have a smoking area off to the side for some fresh are if you need it.
This has been a local spot for as long as I can remember some if the biggest local bands started here. Always good memories and good times and making many more.
Wale Concert was there was a great atmosphere! Good clean fun and great chz and fries
Great experience, clean restrooms, bar inside the venue,we will definitely attend concerts here again
Small venue but extremely awesome
Great venue! Clean, safe, intimate, and the staff were attentive. Accoustics are great and would have given 5 ☆ but some one speaker sounded like it needed to be replaced. Mondo Cozmo and Spoon killed it!!
Pretty cool event center, went and seen Theo Von, show was good, drinks and food came fast. Would go again.
This in amazing venue I have seen 4 shows here and they were all great, especially Damian Rice!
Ive gone to a few concerts here, namely, Chevelle, and the facilities are adequate for the shows and events that are held, but I dont like the small parking lots. However, Cash Saver allows parking for Minglewood on their lot. When I used to live in Midtown, I walked to and from shows. So that was convenient for me. They have other businesses inside the building that may interest others, not myself, though. Its kind of dark inside or I just have terrible vision. Anyway, its an okay place for smaller venues.
Great location with good selection of beer. I went to see Portugal. The Man and when passing through security they made me throw my mace away after I had walked there. I understand safety concerns but it would have been nice if they had a place where they could hold onto belongings like such that I could retrieve at the end of the night before walking home.
Not a fan of the room set up, but its not terrible if there is a good sound guy.
I have only been there once to see Todd Rungren and it was a pleasure to be there. With A Great Sound system, a great room acoustically, and cold drinks. It is a really cool place especially when everyone there is really into the band, singing along with the songs, and everyone is just having a party.Last Thursday I had the opportunity to visit again for a film shoot, and it brought back good memories.
The best place for good music in small venues
I attended Minglewood Hall on a couple of shows, but this one more specifically for Leela James. It has changed over the years, kudos. But lets talk about the terrible inflation, as well as the stern faces. They charged $20 to park in their lot. The bartenders, had no smiles and seemingly no personality. The venue we were in, was dusty at the top. I know business very well if youre going to price gouge, make sure youre delivering top tier service.
I always attend the show for Big K.R.I.T. & I always have a great time.
First time visiting and it was amazing. Rhis was Jazz night and the place was packed and the music was good
I like the night in general and bands were great but I never been to a indoor concert where it felt like it was 115 degrees could have had more big fans to cool off concert attenders especially when you are serving alcohol which dehydrates you but I know it hopefully will get better a very nice quality
We had a blast! Visit @bushnmajor for more local happenings!
Great show watching Paul Cauthen. Anyone witness someone backing up into a white SUV, and LEFT?If so, please contact me or Minglewood, thanks..
Good food, great music, wonderful light show.
Went to see Ella Mai, great venue. Lines were long & it was excruciatingly hot... maybe add better cooling system??
Awesome experience. The Scarface show was amazing!!!
I love this venue. I have seen roughly 15 to 20 shows here and I have enjoyed every last one. I wish everyone would play here instead of some of the other places we have.
The staff was pleasant it was nice and clean the event that I went to see the performance of the band was horrible but thats not minglewood fault..
Minglewood is my favorite venue followed by the Hi-Tone. Minglewood definitely accommodates for larger shows, and I have never had a bad experience of the 20 or more shows Ive been to there over the last 10 or so years.
Great concert venue that makes you feel apart of the performance.
Was here for an event supporting and celebrating women in the community. Minglewood Hall is very nice. Intimate and friendly.
One of the best locations to watch a music show in town. Sound in the main hall is great
Very nice venue to watch bands. Reasonably priced beverages from the bar considering. Not sure if the AC was broken or if its really that weak, but the last show was burning up in the main hall.
Ray While Hubbard was the best show to date. Brought with him the hardest hitting bass drummer just happened to be on vacation from his fuul time gig with Bob Dylan. This was my second time here and the venue for this show was not anything like the first . I mean if I was not acquainted with Area painting who does all paint for facilities would have assumed that it was in a completely separate structure. Any reason you an find to go experience this place is worth the effort. Also on site tattoos and an oxygen bar.
Very personal. Small stage. Very nice space.
Had a blast at the highly suspect concert!
First time in there and its hella cool! #bigkrit
The sound 1889 was not the best for Sunny Sweeny and at the bar no garnishment for drinks so sad
I love minglewood. They have great artists at unbeatable prices. The only negative is that its always unbearably hot in there.
This is a good place for relatively small concerts or events. Concessions are reasonable and good quality. Parking is usually reasonable. The bathrooms are huge compared to the venue size.
Great little venue for seeing an artist at!
Love love love love loved the Pj Morten concert
Excellent time. Great people. Great talent. Great music. Great time had by all!!!
Great rock venue! Lets bring in more rock/ metal shows!
Epic...didnt think I would enjoy it because You stood the entire time. But the experience left me speechless.
Sister Hazel was great, but what I really want to mention is the venue staff. Ive been ill, and I got hot and couldnt cool down. I went up front with the intention of stepping outside. The ticket taker told me there was no reentry. I told him I just needed some air and to cool down. He went and brought me a chair and a cold bottle of water and told me to take my time. Then he checked on me regularly to see if I needed anything. It was lovely to be treated with such attentive kindness at a rock concert. I regret that I didnt catch his name. Whoever he is, hes a treasure.
This is fantastic music venue in midtown. Prices are reasonable and they attract a variety of performers. Most shows are standing only but the sound quality is great. They have a full bar and food available.
Great venue with a good selection of acts and events. Instrumental bands are the best here as the vocals can sometimes be muddy, or hard to hear clearly, depending on where you are listening from.
Great venue, cheap beer whats not to like.
Another good venue for live music
