This local spot will surprise you. Its much, much bigger on the inside for one. Live music, video games, pool, covered outside seating in the back since there is no smoking inside. I have been extremely impressed with the bands Ive seen perform here. Its a more diverse crowd than you would think as well. It just depends on whats going on that night. Highly recommend!

The food and service was outstanding! I would give it more stars if I could. I highly suggest you go try the lunch. The fried green tomatoes were delish, ate them before I could get a picture.

Despite its deceiving exterior, Growlers food is pretty dang amazing. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich with cheese grits as a side, as well as having a bite of many of my compatriots meals. All were delicious.It is without hesitation that I recommend the food at Growlers. I extend a special thank you to Laura, Josh and Dan for making sure things went smooth for my band, Funk You.

This is an amazing little dive bar right in the heart of Midtown. Go there. Eat, drink, and dont forget to tip your bartender.

I am currently sitting at the bar in this place! Super clean. The food was AMAZING! Awesome crowd. However, the lady bartender SUCKS. Shes not in a hurry. She purposely ignores you. Ive never left a zero dollar tip. EVER. I will no longer be able to say that after tonight!!!

First time in a bar in awhile, very friendly staff had a great time.

I went to Growlers specifically to see a band that was playing that night. The space was a decent size and it didnt reek of beer. Unfortunately, they had removed all the chairs for the night so there was no where to sit. Also, the band did not come on until 2 and a half hours after expected. I would go back for another concert, though.

Ask for the Rawk n Grub menu & order anything on it. Cant go wrong anywhere there, I promise!! Plus, there are like 10 vintage pinball machines that you will need to bring a pocket full of quarters for! Good time

For starters we saw an INCREDIBLE show - Christone Kingfish Ingram. I got to take my 16 year old son, because the show was for all ages. It was super cool points for Mom, and we shared a Jim Candy Burger that was unbelievably good! The crown was a great mix of all ages, zipcodes, and flavors. It was a great experience and we never felt out of place. Great night!

As a performer, this is one of the places that treats you very well. When I arrived from Ohio, Dan Taylor offered to help unload any gear I might have. He then promptly offered bar service and shared the food menu with me. I was chuckling internally at all of the music themed menu items. Nat King Cole Slaw, Fried Green Day Tomatoes, Etc. I performed my set and was respected by the clientele, the sound guy Mark, and everyone else. I was fed... Very well, and they didnt let me leave without some petrol. Thanks again!

Really fun, lively feel to it with really good food. They have live music pretty often, so it makes for a good place to get out with your friends. Also, on a more gamer/nerd note, they had classic games playing on the TVs about the bar. So all in all, it was very fun.

Great atmosphere, and AMAZING, friendly staff. The bartender made a point to get a poster autographed for my son. It was his 1st (and my daughters) live concert and everyone was so friendly and professional. It is definitely something they will never forget! A huge thanks also to Skull Family, Stellar Corpse (truly stellar) and CALABRESE! We will definitely make a trip back. They had some great lineups.

No complaints here. Ive been twice around 6pm and the atmosphere is nice, not too loud. The all you can eat wings for $10 on Mondays is a great deal. And the buffalo chicken tacos are spot on!

Ive been to a few shows here and its a pretty cool atmosphere. I havent eaten anything so I cant speak on that, but I do wish they actually had a decent sized parking lot for when theres a big crowd, not just a few spaces.

I can’t judge it for the bar, since I don’t drink in Memphis (long story), and I personally HATE “live music”, and would think for this venue the LOUD music would overtake any semblance of making conversation with anyone there. But that’s me, loud live music joints ain’t my scene.BUT....It does have the best collection of PINBALL machines off to the side, including older machines I have not seen in literally decades, including my all time favorites, Harlem Globetrotters and Firepower. Has about ten games and all of them have merit even though I have my favorites, mostly all 1970’s-1980’s games plus one older EM beauty (which is only 25 cents a game and older games is what I seek).So Growlers is tops for me for having the best pinball selection in Memphis. Bless them.

The Growlers was great. 2 great bands, especially the opening act, The Band Wagoneer. All original music. Look for them around Memphis.

Decent drinks for a decent price. $7 charge for goth night was a bit expensive for so little actually going on. Still a pretty decent place. Ill probably be going back at some point.

Good food and great service. Not sure what was going on when I was there. Some kind of raffle. A few dudes dressed as women. Maybe 3 females in the entire place. Not my type of place but everyone seemed to be enjoying it. I had to hurry out of there....

Great burgers wonderful coleslaw, the bar tender was super friendly and he made a great drink as well.

I dont know how you mess us a jagerbomb but its terrible. Bartender was rude.Staff also likes to pick and choose who pays the cover. Super disappointed.

Smaller venue, but has great concerts, food, and drinks. The concerts here are epic. You never know what celebrity will be in attendance.

You gotta try RAWK N GRUBs menu at Growlers. I recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes, Bat outta Hell sandwhich and the Shrimp and Mis Grits. Great place for live music and fantastic pinball collection.

Had a great time watching Kingfish. Food was good, crowd was great but it got too hot in there because they didnt have any fans blowing on the crowd.

Surprisingly decent bar food and the video games above the bar are fun, but not much else impressive about the space itself. Good music rotation if you like local bands.

I had the Tom Patty burger. The bun was like rubber the thick sliced bacon was burnt, the burger patty fell apart as if it were a loose meat sandwich all of which was over-priced at $15.

Growlers let some of our bands play at the last minute due to being rained out at a festival. They were totally accommodating and offered a wonderful venue with wonderful service and a great time!

The one time I came in here was for business. Picking up a Postmates order. Lady at the bar was rude. Didnt give me a receipt then when I asked for one she tells me I have more important things to do. Just a super nasty attitude. Wouldnt consider doing business here.

Good bands and food is as fantastic as the names... go get you some Kanye Breast and some ZZ Tapas Tacos... don’t forget the the Nat King Cole Slaw and Fleetwood Mac N Cheese... just get your buns in there and peruse that menu

Nice club and great food but the parking situation could be better

Ive been here three times for shows. Its a nice little venue. Even though I smoke cigarettes, I appreciate that its no smoking. The air is clean and bearable. Patio is fairly nice, could use heating when its cold out but its whatever. Bartenders are good, never have a bad attitude when theyre slammed (though, as a former server I wouldnt blame them if they did) and theyre good about taking drink orders in a timely fashion. I finally tried their menu today and had the Reuben. REALLY excellent corned beef. Fries were decent but the star was definitely the sandwich.Growlers books some really cool shows and its worth keeping tabs on their calendar to see whos coming through.

Food quality and concert sound are off but the venue is very cool and has potential. Were from out of town and visiting to see one of our favorite bands while theyre here. Beer selection and ease of ordering was nice to see. This venue has lots of good room, a full bar, kitchen, and the sgage inthe cornwr of the building. Also pinball, pool tables.

Good beer. Good live music. Good people. Good fun.

I had a great time. Its clean and a comfortable atmosphere with an excellent choice for drinks. There are pool tables and a patio out back to get some fresh air with great music playing.

Went here for a death metal show,the atmosphere and everyone that works there are really great..the food is excellent especially the burgers,I found they are a bit pricey on mixed drinks but nonetheless the drinks were great..I would definitely recommend this place for any upcoming events or to just hang out over drinks..

Went to Pants tour there and it was really dope. The place is huge and its got an awesome vibe.

Saw Dance Gavin Dance here the other night. as you can imagine the place was packed but staff was very friendly and on top of it. good little venue, just wish it were a little bigger but appreciate them for recruiting good shows. keep them coming and make sure you dress LIGHT because you will sweat due to the close proximity/body heat of others.

I paid a $10 cover to get inside this place tonight. The show was amazing, the bathrooms were nice and clean, there were tables and surfaces to set things down on that looked nice. The overall human traffic flow was good. But the bar was awful. While everyone was getting served around me, both times I went to the bar to try to order a drink I never got served. I waited over 10 minutes each time. The first time I went, I waited with my friend to order a drink for over 10 minutes. Then another friend came up for us and ordered everything within 1 minute. The next time I tried to order a drink I must have waited over 15 minutes. I literally laid across the bar with my arms (REALLY). I did everything I could to get one of the 4 bartenders’ attention. Everyone around me was getting served in under a minute. The guy next to me thought my waiting was ridiculous too. I waited a full 15 minutes and NEVER got served. My friends eventually came to get me because the band was on its last song by that point, and I was never actually served at this venue. Not even once. My one friend who was lucky enough to get served bought all of our groups drinks. I paid $10 to enter this place, had a great time, but was never allowed to spend more of my money here because I was ignored every single time. This is unacceptable. Please get better bartenders who actually notice customers. I know I am not the only one. I live in this neighborhood and I like to patronize local businesses. But I don’t know that I would come back here because the service was so bad.
