This place is off of the beaten path; however, avid outdoorsmen enjoy visiting for the products and the camaraderie while there. They sell bows, arrows, and accessories; guns, ammo, and accessories; and hunting apparel.

I visited Avery over Labor Day weekend. Once inside, I immediately noticed that virtually no one—customers and employees—was wearing a mask.I asked the employee working the front counter if Avery had some sort of exemption to the City of Memphis’ mask ordinance. He shook his head no and proceeded to insist that he had a “HIPAA exemption” and that not wearing a mask was his “constitutional right.” As a lawyer, I informed him that this was complete nonsense.

The staff is friendly, their prices are normal, but their sale prices are good.It is the easiest outdoor shopping experience for hunting gear and you can actually find someone to help you.It is small compared to the behemoth competitors down the street, but I am not looking for a red neck vacation destination. I just need good gear and they carry it, mostly Avery and Banded.

The only place I know of in Memphis that really specializes in duck hunting. They also have an archery range and supplies. Cool place

Just moved to Memphis and didnt really have room to clean my hunting shotgun in my apartment. So I called ahead and the crew opened their doors for me to knock some soot off. I dont feel as if many companies would be kind enough to allow someone to take up counter space for a few minutes for maintenance but Avery did. Staff is very helpful and the products are priced well. A+

Went in to look at a new bow and found one to my liking. The guy in the archery shop let me take a few test shots but recommended they install some new modules for it.I thanked him for the suggestion as well as not letting me walk out with something the wrong size.However - since then ( 3 weeks ) and 4 calls I had to make to them - still no part - still no bow.Was first told on a Thursday (week 1) - the items should be in by Wed( week 2) the next week. Did not happen. Was told on the Thursday( week 2 ) after I called back to see if they had received any of the parts yet, they would check with Hoyt and call me back. Never happen. I called again on the following Monday(week3) to see if they had my parts for over the weekend. Nope, still nothing.Call them again Friday - still nothing.How much work should the customer have to do to purchase an item from a merchant.Not to mention the fact that every person i spoke with, did not seam to care about the situation nor call me back as they advised. I wanted to stay with a local company to help support the biz but good god the customer experience i had was horrible to say the least.

Great customer service, great store. Nick eagerly tested and offered to replace my leaking waders with zero hassle at all.

Great bunch of guys that know how to help. They have really nice archery range, plus a good selection of reloading supplies. Very competitive prices as well. I get all of my reloading supplies there.

Avery had the muzzle supplies that other sporting outlets did not have. The prices are very good and the guys gave me all the help I needed for other items as well. They treat Vets very well.

Worst customer service in the industry. Spent years dealing with waterfowl companies and I will never again use Avery. Make good products but when something goes wrong.. good luck.
