Riebes Artist Materials Inc.

I havent been to Riebes in a very long time but Im sad they had to close. I hope the mural stays around for a very long time. I always love seeing it when I drive past.

Huge selection of Montana paint. Nice staff.

Easy to see right off of Walt Whitman Road servicing Melville and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Small parking lot and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Give it a try and you decide.Thank you to the owners for responding. We look forward to patronizing your establishment again soon.ESJ

First time visiting, helpful staff and quick service (luckily no other customers in at the time), personalized experience due to the small size of the store. Im glad I didnt go to a big box store! I received a 20% discount because I said Im taking a class, even though its a teacher not even associated with the store!

I visited this store back in 2011 because I was taking a drawing course at Farmingdale. My art professor claimed this place was the best to get your art supplies. I wasnt too familiar with the area because Im from North Fork. As soon as I walked into the shop the cashier (kinda bald short chubby guy maybe in his late 20s or 30s) followed me around the store. I was only a 52 21 year old female at the time and this made me feel very intimidated/uncomfortable. He acted as if he had never seen a person of color before. As I paid for all of my items this person was very rude. Now that Im back in my hometown, Ive been fortunate enough to befriend artists with art galleries. I always advise them not to visit here due to my bad experience. If youre a Farmingdale student and your major isnt art, save the trip and spend your money somewhere else.

They have everything. keep local business like this around and go here over Michaels or something like that. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful!

The best art supply store I have ever known. I moved out of New York 6 years ago and have never found an art supply store that carries the products that Riebes has. Bob and Brian are the best and care about their customers satisfaction. Glad to see after so many years they are still going strong.

Riebes has been around FOREVER! If you want quality artist materials and knowledgeable ADVICE in an unhurried atmosphere Riebes is the place.

We buy all our art supplies here.Nice.to keep a family run business in business.Highly recommend...

Awesome little place with lots of supplies for almost any art project!!

They have real art materials here. Staff is very helpful. I bought mat boards and they cut them to size for me for a nominal fee. Saved me time and they did a much nicer job than I would have on my own. Not a huge store, but they stock the right stuff, my favorite being 3M double-stick rubber cement tape. Cant find that at Michaels.

So helpful. Trying to match a metallic copper color. Staff went out of their way to find the right color.

Great local fine art store that has been around for years! The staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable.

Amazing little nostalgic art supply store. Get those hard to find items here!!!

Best art store on the island hands down. They always help me with all of my needs and have a full line of Montana spray cans

Good-privately owned shop for the serious, and not so serious artist
