Great time to go. Much improved.I have not been to the zoom in over a year, since at least before the covid craziness, and decided to buy a membership and visit it this year. I am really glad I did. The basic layout is not that different but they have been improving while I was away. They are checking for identification, ticket and masks as you enter. Then you have a choice to go left or right. Either way is fine since it is a big circle and returns you to the entrance. There are several habitats that branch off of the center circle. Each are unique and worth exploring. We noticed that they have added a small treasure hunt and a far more extensive monkey habitat to the zoo. Very neat to visit and worth the price of admission. A must see for the Brevard area.

Hands down the best zoo I have ever been to. The animals are very healthy and kept in a nice space. The staff is everywhere and always reaching out to help. Good story boards. Nice looper with offshoots to different themes.

Fantastic experience, highly interactive and amazing. Most of the enclosures are open so you can really SEE the animals, and there’s a lot of ways to interact with them as well. The animals are extremely well cared for and loved. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to see the animals in the best way possible and interact with animals they might never have the chance to.

A wonderful community zoo the whole family can enjoy. The zoo is passionate about conservation and protection. They have also worked very hard in the last 10 years to update exhibits and make them interactive/more creative so you really connect with the animals. Go mid-week and you really feel like a VIP. Plan for about 2 hrs to walk around, longer if you plan on riding the train or kayaks. Lots of eager Volunteers and docents throughout always excited to share about the exhibits. Every time you go its different.

Great time today. This was my familys first excursion since lockdown began in March due to my daughter being medically fragile and it was there perfect choice. Most people were distancing without being asked and make were being worn.The animals seemed to be excited to be out today and it made for an enjoyable day!

Its a pretty good zoo that was the animal enclosures set up to where to can see most animals all times of the day. Staff is very friendly and they have volunteers so over that are friendly and knowledgeable as well. Its worth the money to go.

This is a nice and well-maintained zoo. Its not very large, but well worth half your day. Florida residents can bring their kids up to 11yo free with current specials. I really enjoyed interacting with the birds - they are the friendliest of all zoos. Some activities are closed due to Covid (so if youre craving for an ice cream, you might be out of luck). The zoo isnt crowded at all during weekdays.

Ill be honest, Ive been to a few zoos, including the Sanford Zoo. Ive also frequently attended Disneys Animal Kingdom. I can safely say as a zoo, it blows Animal Kingdom out of the water. You can see amazing exotic animals so close that you feel as if you were there. You can even walk with kangaroos! The enclosures are the perfect size for the animals residing in them. The most immersive enclosure, by far, was the giraffe/gazelle/zebra enclosure. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area.

I was driving down the 95 back from visiting family friends and saw a sign posted.My wife booked tickets from the car and entry into the zoo was super fast and easy.When we walked in. I thought it was going to be a super teeny tiny zoo. so it was really cool to explore the different sections. We where able to chat with volunteers and speak about the snakes and what not.My kids where obsessed with the giraffes and we had a chance to feed them. (I think $2 for a piece of lettuce is pretty pricey)Best surprise ever was as we where about to leave we spotted the water splash pad pool area. My kids absolutely loved splashing around in it.All in all a great find and a great day!

There were lots of happy animals. I dont recommend going at the hottest part of the day. This isnt the biggest zoo and everyone and every animal seemed to be overheating. The staff were kind and genuinely cared about the animals.

My wife and I did the kayak tour. The guide called her self scrappy. She was Very rude. She would ask questions like does anyone know what is in the camels humps. When I answered water she said thats what everyone guesses. Don’t be like everyone. Wow she ruined the tour. Don’t make the mistake of buying much at the gift shop they won’t give you a bag much less the hanger it came on. How disappointing to see the zoo has went down hill.

I love zoos and visit them in must of the places I visit. The Brevard Zoo is great! All of the employees and volunteers are polite and knowledgeable showing love for the animals. The exhibits are great for the animals who all seemed very healthy and content! I love this zoo!

Smaller zoo that has awesome up close experiences. We really enjoyed feeding the giraffes lettuce and getting up close with the kangaroo Lily. Entrance prices were a little high for the 1.5 hours we were there but there was a petting zoo and splash pad for the kids that makes up for it.

The morning is the best time to go! Love taking all my kids! 321 Food place had great burgers!

Best zoo around! I love the kids area and the wading pool section. It is absolutely wonderful. They have tables and chairs around the area to relax and food in the little shop. The better food is further in the zoo but its not a far walk at all. The animals are great (giraffes are my favorite!). It is such a nice cute zoo and easy to walk through without to much effort. The birds are always a delight when you can feed them and a great overall experience. Love this zoo and all its events (boo at the zoo, jazzoo, etc). If you are looking for a nice activity this is it.

We wore masks. All the staff had masks. Their menu has changed but still good. Almost all the animals were up and moving. We had a great time! We recommend the Grandparents pass.

All around great experience. The kayaking was incredible, gliding in the water for an up close view. And the rest of the exploration was also fun and engaging. Clean, easy to navigate and staff on site everywhere to answer questions and provide information - they clearly care about and have passion for the animals.

This is a fantastic zoo and the only one we go to because of how well they care for their animals. We love feeding the giraffes and birds. There are small quarter feeders throughout for fish. The kangaroo walk is pretty cool also. Definitely go first thing in the morning because it gets hot fast.

If you enjoy birds. Go . This zoo is extremely over priced. The landscaping is beautiful. The only thing worth seeing is the rhinos and feeding giraffes. No zebras, no gorilla. Defiantly not worth the money. Very small zoo and not much there at all. Disappointment

Great zoo, the staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We love the animals on exhibit. They have great habitats and enclosures that provide a lot of room for them to roam, the newly renovated rainforest area is great.

Great zoo! My kids really love the train and feeding the giraffes. Other favorite activities include the water area and the aviary. Added bonus, the food is surprisingly good. Also, theyre handling covid so well that this has become our go-to family outing.

Great experience. I have been many times. The place is kept really nice and there are happy looking animals. It is outside so naturally it is very hot and the animals are most active in the morning. If you go in the afternoon a lot of them are sleeping and hiding in the shadiest areas which are hard to see. Overall, I love this zoo for my toddlers and for grown up dates. One other part I really like is the baby pool area which is great for toddlers! A major downside is the requirement of masks on adults in super hot outdoor areas. And they enforce it hardcore!

It has been 15 years since I have been to this Zoo. The growth has been nice and it is very well kept.

This is a cute little Zoo. Its very kid friendly and you can actually take some classes here to learn more about the animals. They used to have a nice dinner and stroll I wish they would have come back with that. Everything is very relaxing the food is great. They always keep the zoo very clean and tidy. One of the most fun things is trying to feed the giraffe.

Great zoo! Lots to explore and interaction experiences to do with families. It wasnt crowded on a Wednesday afternoon in June. High recommend to go! We are from NJ and been to a few zoos before and this one is by far our favorite! We are going to do the zipline tour next time we are in town.

Ive been to a lot of zoos. Up and down the east coast. The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne Florida offered a very unique experience. The Brevard Zoo is a medium sized Zoo but dont let that fool you. The zoo area was jam-packed with wonderful exhibit after exhibit. The zoo was immaculate and I absolutely loved how the majority of the zoo pathways is on a boardwalk. This is zoo is great for both young and old and I wood recommended it for a day date. I loved it.

My little family went to this zoo today and it was perfect. My daughter is 1 years old and it wasnt too big or too small for her. Lots to keep her engaged. The set ups allowed you to see many of the animals even if they were just resting in the heat.Highlights for us were the giraffe feeding area and the rainforest section. I am certain the kangaroo walkabout is very fun, well have to try that next time!We appreciated all of the measures they put in place to protect the guests and staff. The staff were super friendly and service was great!

Wed been to this zoo a couple times when visiting Florida... But weve lived here 18 months and hadnt been!! We got our membership and love the +1 option (extra $50, bring a guest every time) so Nana or Aunty and her baby can tag along. Im guessing because of Covid, more animals werent home than we recall previously, but there are still plenty of awesome sights to see and the kids were happy. Theyve set in great social distancing measures (although not all guests obey) and we felt safe and happy enjoying our day ️Fair warning!! You need to reserve online before arriving at the zoo (at least for now). That said, we decided we wanted to go and the next time slot available was only 30 minutes later, so even if you havent planned ahead youre probably ok have fun!

Very responsive to Covid 19 with limited admission. Must reserve a date and time slot. Masks required at specific areas. Staff is friendly and the exhibits are well laid out. Rainforest exhibit is awesome. Petting zoo is limited to observing. Great staff & volunteers!

It was alot of fun. The employees were there to help and guide you with all of the information you would need. And you get to feed giraffes and some of the other animals. But they all seem to be well taken care of. I recommend it for the entire family.

Super fun way to spend a couple hours with the kids! Due to Covid we couldnt interact a whole lot but still were able to have some hands on fun!

Our trip to the zoo today was pretty good. The zoo is very small and takes about an hour to see everything. The price is a little high so I dont see going back very often.

A hidden gem in Melbourne. What I think is what sets this zoo apart is the clever method to be able to feed the giraffes. I am also a big fan of the kayak trip around the zoo for a reasonable charge. I recommend the mornings as its cooler and the animals are more active. Its close enough to the hwy and its easy to find. I highly recommend this zoo.

Have 10 Giraffes. Saw 3 babies. Had a great time my wife got to feed one. and became a member.

Hands down one of the best in the country (I believe officially #3). If you are anywhere near this area you should visit.Ample parking and activities for the kids makes this a great family adventure.

An amazing place to bring the family. So many things to do. From the tree top trek, giraffe feeding, train ride, zip lines. The hands on play area and the pool area as well. Even during this pandemic it was still alot of fun to be there.

One of my favorite Zoos in Florida Well maintained, volunteers and staff areas friendly and you can really tell that the animals are taken care of well. You can feed Giraffes and birds at a reasonable price, get very close to kangaroos, and go kayaking by the animals.I had so much fun here, and cant wait to go back to check out the zip lining!Great place for families and couples!

Excellent experience. We came here on a whim just because we wanted something new to do. It was well worth the hour drive. There is a lot to do and see for all ages. Feeding the birds, feeding the giraffes, riding the train, and FEEDING the STINGRAYS!! That was such an awesome experience. You’ll love all the areas and animals this place has. It is pretty cheap compared to other zoos in Florida too. You should definitely give it a shot if you’re looking for an inexpensive experience for all ages.

This Zoo Is far the best zoo I been to.. The animals are well taken care of. It is very cheap to go in and you can feed the birds or the giraffe. The experience is awesome recommended also there is like a little water park for dmall children to cool off. Bathroom are clean awesome place I will go again.

This is the best zoo I have ever been to! I highly recommend. They have everything, Kayaking, great food choices, local beers, frozen slushy (alcoholic options too), so many unique experiences Ive never seen too. They even have a petting zoo for children, water park, even an up close experience with Kangaroos where they run wild! They dont have Lions, Tigers, or Gorillas but this place is amazing. I enjoy it more than Animal Kingdom too. The animals they have are taken care of so well, the habitats are well kept and HUGE! I bought a membership on my first visit.

Rated one of the top small zoos. Definitely worth day trip. Nicely laid out, not as much walking as you might think. Many interactive stops. Feed giraffes and birds. Small water play area for the kids. Self guided kayak tours. Zip lines above the zoo. Definitely a lot to do. There is some construction going on right now but do not let that keep you away.

Always exciting to visit. Always clean, staff is friendly. I bring my summer camp here every summer. Kids love it. The classroom exhibit they do for groups is a must do.

This zoo is mostly foliage with very few animals. Packed with kids and parents running around with masks around their chins and NOT social distancing. If you want to see a lot of birds I would definitely recommend it. Otherwise save your money and dont risk getting Covid. Wish I did!!

NOT SAFE! They DO NOT limit their capacity or enforce social distancing of 6ft at all. My daughter and I visited today, we were very uncomfortable due to large amount of people and crowds not following the 6ft distance guidelines.Especially in the bird feeding areas they do not limit capacity whatsoever and frankly it’s very irresponsible. I feel the zoo cares more about making a profit then keeping people accountable and safe. I do not recommend visiting this zoo during the current pandemic as they are not taking it very serious.

While there is a lot of shade the entire zoo is outside so it gets hot. We bring a jug with lots of ice and our own cups.Our kids love this zoo. Expect to spend about 3-4 hours depending on kids ages and their attention spanBring a change of clothes and swimsuit as there is a splash pad.

Nice zoo, questionable practices.After publishing in writing options for zoo members, the organization decided to renege on it. So instead of honoring it and likely winning back many paying members, they opt to send emails and physical mail and call asking for donations and membership sign-ups instead of doing the right things from the begging? Doesn’t make sense to me.The Brevard Zoo lost at least one long-standing member today, and any possibility of further referrals until these practices are stopped and resolved.

Very nice zoo, wonderful natural settings for the animals. Lots of shady places, rarely are you walking in the sun. We decided to go during the pandemic due to all the safety protocols they said they were requiring- distancing and masking. One star off because many visitors were not wearing masks. We were very disappointed that the staff was not enforcing this. It was the main reason we went there.

Truly well designed animal habitats. Enjoyed the visit and animal encounters. The only disappointment wwassssss the number of people who did not maintain wearing their mask while once in the zoo.

This zoo is nice, but some of the staff were snotty and weird. I think that the people in charge should get rid of most of the younger staff members. I had a staff member just ignore my 12 year old son, who was just asking a question about the giraffes, and another staff member questioned me about smoking. The staff member said she had another guest say that I was smoking. I told the staff member I did not smoke, she looked at me like I was lying. She said that it had been reported to her that the person was wearing a straw hat. I was wearing a straw hat, but was not smoking . I should have reported her right then and there, but chose to just leave this review, which is my true experience. I want everyone to know how I was treated. The zoo is uncomfortable right now with this virus going on, and the staff do not make you feel welcomed. I would skip it entirely till the pandemic is over. They should lay off most of the idiots that work there.

Nice zoo with lots of shaded walkways to keep out of the sun. Theres a cool area where you can walk around with some wallabies and other critters. We got to feed a giraffe and I believe there were birds you could feed as well. Theres also kayaking and ziplining for adventurous folks! The staff was friendly, too!

This was our first visit to the Brevard Zoo. Its small but very well kept. The ppl were very friendly. My favorite area and animal is the giraffe enclosure. A few of the giraffes are tall enough to hang their head over the top of the railing and you can feed them. Most of the animals were just laying around in the shade because it was so hot but it was still a nice day and visit.

Great Zoo to visit if you are in the area! Its divided in various sections which are well organized and easy to follow. Keep in mind that some animals might not be seen since they only go out at specific times - this was the case for the brown bear in the Florida section of the zoo. I also recommend buying one of the adventure packages, they are well worth it and dont add much to the cost. We took the one with the train ride since it felt too hot to canoe. With the package we got to feed the giraffes (you are only given a leaf of lettuce per person, but I believe its so the animals are not overfed), we fed some birds honeyeater, and finally we did the train ride (which goes thru a section of the park otherwise inaccessible so extra worth it). All in all this is a great Zoo which can accommodate adults, children, as well as families.

Our family with young children visited this zoo while vacationing in the area. This zoo was amazing with very friendly staff members and tons of free or affordable animal encounters. Most of the exhibits were very intimate and were able to get up close and personal with the animals. My kids were able to feed a giraffe, feed birds, get photos with kangaroos, pet giant turtles, alpacas, goats, etc. It was an excellent experience and wed gladly go again.

Although it was very warm, my family and I enjoyed our visit! Great animals and great experiences! We got to feed giraffes and a couple of my family members went kayaking through the zoo and thought it was a cool opportunity!

First time here. What a great zoo especially for families with toddlers. The animals are close and we were able to see most of them.

Had a great time. Not a huge zoo, but has a great selection of animals, with lots to enjoy for both kids and adults. Went for the first time and ended up with a membership. Looking at their website they also have a lot of events that go on. Will try to get back as often as we can.

The Brevard Zoo was a great time! To squelch the heat they have misters set up to cool you down. They keep the park very clean. Staff was extremely informative and willing to answer questions. We bought memberships.

This may be a smaller zoo, but, one of the best zoos Ive ever been to. It is so interactive for kids and adults. The fact that you are so up close to the animals is amazing. You can hand feed giraffes and birds. This zoo is amazing.

Nice place to take the kids. With the COVID-19 situation you cannot pet the animals but it still great. Some animals can be fed, like the giraffe, the Cockatiels and the Lorykeeds. My kids enjoyed that a lot.

The new enclosures look awesome. They did an excellent job giving the animals more room. I would of liked to see more hand sanitizing stations, especially where they have signs stating high touch area.

This zoo was very clean and very cute. I felt as though the rain would ruin the day but it didnt. We just put on our raincoats and were still able to roam the zoo looking at the animals in their natural habitat. The cheetah was amazing the animals also look well taken care of and well-kept. They had an indoor play area which served us well because being there on a school trip we had no other opportunity to postpone or come back later and the rain would have ruined the day for some if the indoor play area was not available. It had a Veterinary play area and a sandbox that was awesome..Also the lady inside the indoor play area an older sweet lady who looked very adorable and was the sweetest kindest person that I have met in a long time made the trip even better. She was amazing. Also the lady in the gift shop was very sweet. It was a great trip with lots to see and do. I would definitely return.

Nice small zoo we Drove almost 2 hrs and barely stayed for 1 hr. Animals looked very well kept. Very clean hardly any foul smell beeing that there are animals.

This place is amazing. So clean and well maintained. Great staff and excellent price. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by. Feel the lorikeets!! So much fun and worth every penny.

We really enjoyed out time at the zoo today. Its a small one, but the exhibits were amazing. My absolute favourite thing was feeding the giraffes and the birds. We were also lucky enough to be at some of the exhibits when the animals were being fed. The volunteers were also great, and had stories about the animals and answered questions.

One of the better and most affordable family fun days in Central Florida. Plenty of great places to view animals. They are constantly upgrading and amending the property. Cool selection of animals and a wide variety of things specifically for kids. They could use more parking, but popularity has its cost. Pay attention to the attendance meter, when its peaking, there is a line to get in.

Great place to take the family! Feeding the giraffes was really neat. Kids and adults had a great time. Bring your suit or a change of clothes they have small water play area for kids at the end. Dont forget strollers for young ones. Food is good and reasonably priced. Zoo keepers are always friendly and share info on the animals.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Was on vacation. It was a smaller zoo but had a lot to see. Very easy to get around in too. They have one place to get food but it has a lot to choose from. The chicken strips and fries are good. Dad said his cheeseburger was also good. Not sure if food is aloud in or not. They have a train to ride around the zoo. Also have a kid section with a petting zoo. Little water park with sprinklers and a sand box. Also a.c. room to play in set up as a vets office. Also has sand box in the a.c. room. Im really glad I went

Such wonderful and passionate staff with very well kept grounds. Only suggestion is to provide better signage for kayaking, but that extra-cost option is very well worth it, as-is feeding the birds and giraffes, and the slow but fun train ride where you should sit as fast away from front (loud engine) as possible.

As an animal lover, I dont do Zoo’s anymore but I was invited here while visiting Some friends and their children were exited to visit. I honestly saw not one sign of animal abuse in any way, They’re mostly rescued and they all look in good shapes and well taken care of. They have Giraffes, Zebras, Owls, marabou stork, snakes, flamingos, parrots, kangaroos, and many, many more animals. They have an area for kids to bath and go around the fish tank right next to it, there is kayaking, train, feeding is not the greatest when u included because they dont give u much, but its worth it once you see the kids faces. There is also souvenir shop and fast food.

Love this small zoo. Giraffes to feed, flamingos, sloths and other amazing animals. We are local and enjoy going several times a year. The walk through is mostly in the shade. The park is well planned so you can visit just part of it if that is all your time allows. Highly recommend.

What an absolutely wonderful zoo!! Were visiting from upstate NY and the zoos around us have nothing on this place! The circular setup makes navigation quick and simple. The facilities are well maintained and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is so much to do that we didnt have time to do it all. Id love to come back and try kayaking through the property and the zip lines! I definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!

We (my family) have visited this zoo many times and always have a great experience.Take the kiddos and have fun.The new restaurant is much better than the last one and healthier as well.
