Ralph was super helpful. We arent local. My daughters supply list was as non-specific as they come. I was able to tell Ralph what my daughter planned to do with the art assignment and he picked out what he thought would work best with an offer to come back if the supplies didnt work out the way we thought. All of this 15 minutes before closing and never did I feel like he was rushing me out the shop. And her projects came out great! Way to hit it out the park, Ralph!

( As of 16 June 2020) Im still practicing strict social distancing, due to my concerns for family members health, that of vulnerable populations, and common sense. As such, Ive dramatically limited where I go.Im a huge fan of wandering stores for hours, and hope that I am able to do that again safely in the future. That goes double for anywhere art related. Im also quite keen on supporting local business.I discovered Ralphs back in March, just before everything went sideways. I was immediately smitten with what I found--namely a clean, well-organized shop, filled with a surprisingly large variety of high quality art supplies, some of which Id not seen anywhere outside art stores in major metropolitan areas (Chicago, Miami, Portland) or college towns.(Some examples: Daniel Smith, Holbein and M. Graham watercolor, open stock of the full 120 color line of Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils, Schmincke pastels, 22x30 Arches paper, and what looked to be the full line of Golden acrylic paint and mediums, to name but a few.)The prices are comparable to reputable online art supply stores, and the selection of quality supplies greater than big box arts and crafts stores. In addition to sales, the store offers regular, ongoing discounts on a number of items. Ive found the brushes to be particularly reasonable.According to another customer I spoke with briefly, Ralph does excellent framing work. Each time I have visited, someone called about picking up or dropping off a framing job. Ive also seen people pick up gift cards and art supply orders, which is a definite plus, especially in light of the pandemic.Regarding health and safety, Ralph asks that all customers mask up to shop. If, for some unknown reason, you dont have a mask, he has them for a buck, tax included. PLEASE follow this guideline, if not for yourself then for his health and well-being, mine, and that of countless strangers.The store was already clean, but is now even more so. Ralph regularly sanitizes high contact surfaces (baskets, counter, pens, door, etc.) after each customer and doubtless goes over the entire store on a regular basis.Because it is a smallish space, and not likely overrun by throngs of the thoughtless unmasked, I feel that I am not placing myself in an unnecessarily risky position in order to shop there in person. Its nice to know that I can call ahead as well.Art has been keeping me (somewhat) sane. Having a place to shop for art supplies, in person, fills me with unfathomable joy. Long may it continue.

The owner/ cashier was very rude and dry. Was on the phone when we walked in, acted put out when I asked a question about large eraser then explained he didnt want to take my debit card because it was less than $10 purchase but offered to charge the 38 ¢ on top of the $2.86 erasers. When I declined and said thank you anyway and have a nice day as polite as can be he gave a disgusted look and huffed in disbelief. Save your time and go somewhere else for your art supplies. That was the worst small business I have ever been in.

I am a rank watercolor beginner. Ralph helped me select a couple of brushes. I am used to acrylic brushes and was unaware of the differences. He swore the ones he showed me were great. At my first class, my instructor told me both of them were. You can trust him.

Great variety of high quality products that can’t be found at the big chain stores. Wide range of classes available. I’m not sure if it was Ralph himself who was there today, but the fellow who was there was helpful without being overbearing. He wasn’t what I’d call “warm and fuzzy”, and I got the general sense he gave absolutely zero rips what I thought, but I can’t hold that against him. I can, however, see where his personality might be a bit off-putting to some. That being said, I can’t wait to go back and wander some more. This will be my go-to shop in the area.

Best place to get quality art supplies and professional framing. Great prices, and has extensive catalogs to special order items not found locally anywhere else. Hosts classes for painting in various media and drawing. Home to the sweetest greeter that loves head scratches and playing fishing for kitties with her spider on a stick. Independently owned and operated for over 20 years. Ralph knows his stuff and deserves your support.

How to be as honest/objective/true as possible??? I would rather give the small stores my business any day of the week then to the big box stores! I drove 20 miles out of my way to visit his store and when I came in I told him that I needed his experience because I have no formal training as an artist. After receiving his condescending, arrogant attitude for a while I told him I would figure it out on my own. Knowing that artists can be a little bit like that I figured I’d leave it alone and make my purchases anyway but after watching him be rude and condescending to several other customers during my time there I decided to leave without a purchase and go to a box store because if I’m not going to get any good help at least I’m not going to be treated poorly in the meantime. I was quite disappointed to say the least.

Ralph helped me find what I needed. He make an extra effort packaging my supplies do they wouldnt get damaged. This store had top quality supplies.

He offers art supplies. Thats his job. Long term prospects for this and other establishments in downtown Eau Gallie are not promising. With the Technology Institute of Florida soon to acquire the art at Foosaner (just wrap your mind around that for a moment,) youd better buy your supplies NOW.

Cute little store! True supply store!

Ralph is the reason local businesses should be supported. Hes knowledgeable, polite, very helpful, and his prices arent bad at all. In fact, when I was in recently to pick out some frames for a few prints I had, he was probably more fair than he should have been. In addition, he was of great help finding and accomplishing what I needed. Had I gone to some other chain store, I would have wound up paying more in supplies, tools, and unnecessary frustration. Instead, I walked away with high quality frames and prints that look stunning. You rock, Ralph.
