On January 16, 2020 (pre-Pandemic) I purchased tickets to Black Violin. If only I had a crystal ball ... By the end of March ALL entertainment venues were forced to close. All the other tickets I purchased at other venues (i.e., Stadium Theater - Golden Dragon Acrobats, Hanover Theater - Shen Yun, Dunkin Donuts Center - Cirque du Soleil) have ALL been refunded. But NOT this one at the Chevalier Theater. They have since rescheduled the event twice now, so that its more than a year out from the original date, and are apparently refusing to issue refunds. I fear this venue is putting profits ahead of performers and the public. Not everyone will be taking the COVID-19 Vaccine and it appears they plan to force EVERYONE to keep their original tickets/seats as well as force the performers to travel when it may not yet be safe to do so. Why not do the right thing and cancel and issue refunds until it is safe to start holding live performances again? All the other venues have canceled and issued refunds. Why are you holding my funds hostage for an event you have already rescheduled twice now and if you hold it on May 7, 2021 as planned, it may not be safe to do so at full capacity given the Pandemic. The funds I paid could be better spent on rent and groceries right now given the current economic crisis the Pandemic has put us in. Why are you forcing me to attend an event I no longer feel safe to attend given the Pandemic? I dont appreciate what youre doing. Im sure Im not alone either - do you really want to force people to attend an event they arent comfortable being at? Do you really want a crowd of angry people at an event? Id really appreciate it if you would just cancel ALL events at this time and refund folks money. Some of us ticket holders may die before this event takes place ... what then? Are you going to keep the ticket sales of the people that die during this Pandemic? They certainly wont be able to request a refund if they die, so I see how that might motivate you, but rest assured putting profits before peoples (and performers) lives will come back to bite you. Do you really want that kind of karma? DO THE RIGHT THING CHEVALIER THEATER; CANCEL AND REFUND ALL CURRENTLY SCHEDULED EVENTS UNTIL WE GET THIS PANDEMIC UNDER BETTER CONTROL.

Sat in second Orchestra, was a intimate venue seats are traditional for an older theatre... Great at getting you inside and seated for a show. Parking is a bit of a hassle. Fluffy was a great show in this spot. As we had a fairly large party.

This venue has no parking. There is a very small lot across the street, with on street parking around Medford Square. It is a nice venue and the staff are helpful. The two biggest draw backs are that they only have restrooms on the 1st floor and you are made to wait in line before the events for security check. Although the lines do move quickly, be prepared to wait. (Dress warm in winter months)

Theater is not ornate or beautiful like many similar theaters. Very small jam packed lobby. Line to get in goes a quarter mile down the block, so you better hope it’s not raining. Parking is expensive and in a small lot where the cars all park behind each other so you better hope the people in front of you leave soon. (I recommend finding some street parking and walking a bit.) Once you get into the show these things matter less (shout out to Tom Segura). But the theater and experience is eh in my opinion.

Great shows considering this theater seats less than 2,000 people, but not the nicest theater. There are also some restaurants nearby. They need to upgrade this place, along with the bathrooms - need more of them as the lines can be very long winding through the lobby.

There is 0 parking available except for the Street. The seats are very small and rock hard. Plus extremely high prices on their very limited Bar selection (Even compared to other theatres and event venues). Luckily, they do also offer seat cushions for free, and the views even from the back are pretty good. Id be willing to go back, but only for the right event.

For Ladies Night Out we saw Trevor Noahs comedy act. Restaurants in walking distance. Nice place to see current shows. Limited parking for $20 directly across the street. Extensive free municipal parking within walking distance. Entry lines move quickly and you can order a drink for pick up while waiting in line. Medford businesses close early, so if you get a late show you will need to travel if you want drinks after.

Wish I had listened to the bad reviews. The balcony seats are terrible. They are completely wooden and you are sitting on top of the person next to you and completely squished. I approached about paying for better seats. They will let you but they wont refund your original ticket or put your original coat towards the new seats (we paid 60 for our tickets, if new seats were 120 we have to pay full price instead of an additional 60). This place is a joke. Drink prices are absolutely insane . I hope theyre putting the money towards renovations. 60 dollars for uncomfortable seats and not being able to see over the people in front of you. We drove over an hour for this show. Hopefully Cary Elwes will make it worth it. Horrible theater. Save your money.

I love that they restored this old high school theatre, but disappointed that they dont have any history or photographs of what it looked like originally. Its personal to me cuz my father was in the first ever production at the theatre when he was in school there. But as a venue for shows I would recommend it; Its intimate & I think any where would be a decent seat.

I had grown up in Medford. As such, I looked forward to sharing a great review of the Chevalier. I recently saw the Temptations and The Four Tops perform here. The theater itself is quite nice. The sound is good as well. Unfortunately, the night I was there, we had a few loud, over-served people behind us. After five of us had asked them to quiet down, to no avail, I gave up. The ushers were too busy chatting to do their jobs and quiet these drunks down.Overall: Sound quality and seating were fine. However, get your ushers to do their jobs, and for Gods sake, lower the cost of the beverages! Serious robbery going on there!

Very nice venue for a concert. Staff was helpful and nice and the seats were well spaced and comfortable. We bought our tickets late so we were up in the balcony in the back so we couldnt see really well, our fault not the venues. I enjoy events at the Medford Chevalier because it is convenient and I can usually score good seats at a reasonable rate. Its an intimate but older venue. Get there early to find parking, or you will pay a high price. Thankfully, we did get there early and only paid a minimal amount for city street parking. The venue itself was fine, bathrooms were clean, but I was not impressed with the seating. It was cramped and very difficult to see anything. If you do want to go here, just make sure to get really good seats. Sound set up was good, but that may vary.

Classic, mid-20th century theater. No frills - went to a sold out comedy show and they were out of snacks and the concessions lines for drinks were untenable. The floor is gently sloped - so gently that if you end up seated behind a tall(ish) person youll have an obstructed view. The show itself was good, as was the audio quality, but the theater itself leaves a lot to be desired.

I went to see a comedy show. In addition to surprisingly efficient and convenient parking, the theatre was well managed with a clear flow for the large audience, multiple bars to buy drinks (2 drinks or one double per person, bars on first floor and balcony levels). Despite the multi-block line to get in the theatre, bag check was very brief and the bar line was less than 4-5 people long. Although we were in the balcony we had an excellent view and thoroughly enjoyed the preformances. Exiting the theatre was similarly efficient, and despite our car being boxed in during parking, we were able to drive away less than 10 minutes after reaching our car.

Older, cozy venue for a comedy show. We recently saw Kevin James, and enjoyed both the venue and the show. It was my first time visiting my hometown theater which is now managed by a professional organization. I can say that there are no bad seats in this entire place. We sat close to the stage and it felt like we were front row. Entrance was a bit of a hassle with the line reaching down the street. We Ubered over as parking can be an issue given the distance and number of people being dropped off. The only real problem was the concession stand and bathroom seemed to create a bottleneck for those going upstairs. Despite its issues, this theater is well worth the visit for any performance.

We got to see Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias live here. We were surprised by the lack of parking in the area for how large of a venue it was. People were parking in the residential area adjacent the theater. The bathrooms had attendants and seemed clean. But the look and smell made you feel like you were in an old high school bathroom. There were a lot of security and ushers herding the patrons. There is a small foyer or entry area to gather before going into the theater. The owners are using this area for a bar and merchandise sales. I understand the desire for profits, but this is not a theater experience most I feel are looking for. All in all, we were able to get in, get seated, see a great show and safely get out. I further disliked that most people couldnt see the projection screens hanging above the stage.I felt very sorry for the people waiting outside in single digit temperatures in a line that reached downtown Medford, MA. Its February in New England. The time between shows forced the sold out 2nd show to have even less parking and to wait over an hour outside.Im glad the choice of venue brought ticket prices down, however, Id pay substantially more for a larger, newer or renovated locale.
