Nice walking trail. Could have used more historical interaction. I tried to find the interactive things listed on some sites regarding the battlefield, but I couldnt find them. Very nice park.
Visitor Center was closed unfortunately due to the pandemic. Bathrooms are still available. Historical plaques explained what happened here in the late 1700s and the significance of the Battle of Fallen Timbers. The parking lot was larger than I expected and there were 10 cars in the lot at 930 am. Several were walking the trails or bicycling on the Metropark trails. I wish the signage was better on the trails so out of towners could figure out where they were! Three stars because Visitor Center was closed.
Its a nice area. Disappointed I didnt see any artifacts though. ;)
Nice historical site with a short walking trail with great signage. Road signs to the battlefield are very small, making site hard to find.
Love this park. Good little trail to run.
This is a paved/stone, wooded/open walking trail which loops 1.5 miles. If you go in autumn, you can enjoy the forest turned yellow. Beautiful! Some pretty overlooks and the history is interesting.
This place is clean and quiet. The ststue is beautiful!
Wonderful restoration and great signs to help history come to life.
Beautiful park, loved the historic plaques, and very lightly traveled.
Battle site of General Waynes in 1794. So rich in history and a peaceful place to walk or run.
Went to a reunion in the park/park building (which was air conditioned--thank goodness) This worked out great! The food could be kept warm, or cold as needed and no bugs in it. Everyone was able to sit at tables and visit or some went outside, sat, or walked the trail. This was a perfect location!
Nicely groomed paths with historical markers and some shaded areas
Bathroom always look clean and well taken care of. Baseball fields are the best. The outfield is well manicured and is smooth not a hole to be found . Very safe for children of all ages.
Take a walk through a historical battlefield and read about the participants. There are many plaques full of information along the path. There are open areas that may require sun screen on sunny and hot days. There are public restrooms available near the parking lot, which is free. Walking is easy on a well maintained path. The battlefield is not the easiest place to find. I recommend searching Google Maps.
My husband & I enjoy this park because the trail is so nicely marked, and the information tags tell what people need to know about the Battle of Fallen Timbers. The trail is a leisurely 1.5 miles and really puts the walker at ease.
Battlefield Park is a small but nicely maintained Metropark with a stoned running path, nice bathroom facility, and bike pump/tool station. It is connected to other parks by the Wabash-Cannonball trail.
Very knowledgeable about the battles fought there. I reccomend you visit if you havent been yet. It is a very powerful location.
Nice building to rent, clean, nice size clean and sits on a beautiful setting. Nice walking trail offering historical factors.
Nice new building. Perfect place to have a graduation party. Lots of area for kids to play, plus trails easy to access and walk.
Very interesting monument with several informational plaques with details of the battle and the lives lost.
Love the history lesson
Beautiful area for a hike.
1.5 mile hike on flat smooth gravel path. About 1/2 shaded and half open. Signage gave good history.Visitors Center said closed for private event so unsure what information was inside. Restrooms available from outside the Visitors Center.
Great facility, great parking, trails are nice, and.....in the event you have any bicycle issues, they have a bike repair stand with tools and an air pump.
Finally, visited this site thats been right here on our door step (so to speak) for a number of years now.We were educated on facts about The Fallen Timbers Battlefield that we were totally unaware of and the rich history of N.W. Ohio. This is a site we would highly recommend for our local and out-of- towm visitors as a must see on their schedule.
Nice trail, clean a/cd bathrooms and lots of markers throughout explaining Fallen Timbers history.
Really cool historical place with great trails for walking
Very nice and quiet atmosphere. I like that you can use an app to hear about the different location. Nice mile and a half Loop. Great for bicyclists to with a bicycle station on-site clean restrooms.
Interesting place with a fascinating history. The trails in and around the park are quite nice; and, I liked the historical markers placed along the trail describing the events that took place here. The view of the Maumee River valley is wonderful. It would be nice though if they had an actual visitors center to more fully explain and interpret the events that took place here, and their importance in US history.
This place is a Hidden Gem! History at its finest! Ohio has a lot to offer but this is a place you must go see!
Not alot of history to look at...just alot of walking.
Great educational experience
Really enjoyed my time here at this memorial. Nice facilities and good history and NW Ohio Heritage..
Slice of American history in our own backyard. Highly recommend
They were out of Raymond noodles
Very cool and clean restrooms also!
Very relaxing fun path to walk along. This park also has alot of fun events to educate you on the parks history.
Awesome!!! Peaceful place to go. My dogs love to chase the deer and other wildlife.
I went here to go to the park and see the history. The history is dispalyed throuvhout the park. Nice toe path to walk. Quiet place.
Food was delicious
Absolutely gorgeous. Never knew of this place before. Will definitely be a frequent visitor
Its a pretty fun place to go with kids that you stole from your neighbors with that your ever going to give back to them, and throw them in your basement. gg
Beautiful new Metropark in Maumee, Ohio. They did a wonderful job with it. Very underutilized.
Beautiful park. I was attending the 224th anniversary. Good presentation.
Quiet walking path, informative plaqo
Love this Metropark. Peaceful setting. The signs along the trail tell the story of the battle and the area
I found out when I stopped at this wasnt actually the Battleground. When you read the signs that shows that the battlefield was really underneath where they built the freeway but still you get the feeling of what it was like being there with all the trees that have fallen down and all the areas to hide in a battle back then
Nice walking trail through both fields and forest, with a rentable space indoors as well. The stamp for your passport book is at the beginning of the trail by the sign.
Very interesting battlefield from the 1790s.
Great place for a walk during lunch.
Its a wonderful place to walk around and check out the history of a forgotten battle. Make sure you take water and a good pair of walking shoes.
Lots of little know history here. Im glad I did not live through those difficult times.
I dont! Wish they could have a place to show the artifacts from battle ground?
I learned a lot about the war of fallen timbers that I originally knew nothing about! They offer presentations as well as boards with facts spread periodically threw out the walking trail that it there as well.
I love taking my grandchildren there. 1.5 mile loop.
The visitor center isnt actually open even though it shows it on the map.
Visitor Center has no displays or interpretation of battle.
Pretty statue memorializing Battle of Fallen Timbers. Overlooks Maumee River. Little park surrounding the memorial serves as terminus of the Cannonball Trail, though the Sidecut Metroparks trail system also ends here.
Great to take the kids and learn history.
Great walking tour with info plaques along the way.
Good place to run. Little sunny, but a great loop
A neat place to visit.
Was killed by indians and falling treesfun time
Metroparks are best kept secret
Had an after funeral gathering here and it was nice
Great walking path with historical story boards along the way
We went for a jog on the Wabash Cannonball trail. We did not visit the Fort grounds trip.
I was here for a baby shower...nice room.
Very nice
Baby shower event
Awesome place.
Learned a lot about the importance of the skirmishes in this area of the US that played a big role in making this a new country.
Cool location
So good
Love this place
Nice place
Wish I had more time to really enjoy it
Nice trail and has a place to do hill sprints.
Nice
Where history comes alive!
Good
Beautiful!
Beautiful park!
Where are the artifacts located and graveyards?
Very peaceful.
Interesting historical walk!
Nice little loop for a stroll.
Beautiful view here.
Needs to be a real visitor centre for the state of Ohio and surrounding areas.
Great place. Everybody should see it
Gives you a real feeling for history, but take mosquito repellent!
Great trail with historic markers. The interpretative center was locked & empty.
Awesome place
Nice little park with a 1.5 mile well-kept walking path.
