All in all it is a really good field complex although there are a few things that really big me. Alot of the fields are multipurpose and there are a lot of lines that as a player, they really can confuse my teammates and I. Most of the goals for soccer are also very bent. Now this is of course from annoying kids who dont know any better, but it is on the complex if they are going to switch them out. I have missed many goals because if the bent shapes in the corners and especially across the top. Other than some minor things I think this is a pretty nice astro turf field to play on.

Nice parking. Clean toilets. I like that there is playground for little kids, so if you bring younger siblings here they don’t need to spend all the time on the field. And very easy to find.

One of the nice things about charlotte is that you have acces to such facilities.There are a multitude of fields with good quality artificial turf. The park is very well maintained and it has ample walking trails. All fields have soccer and lacrosse goals, however the lacrosse goals are still locked. The soccer goals are mobile so if need be, you can move them up down the field.Restrooms are also available in the different sections of the park.

So very nice and we bring our pets, so it saves us money, too!

Great soccer fields; great facilities for family play!

I have heard very great things about this Sportsplex and I have a question which I hope can/will be answered. Can you go to the turf fields just to go for fun to do drills with friends and practice and not have to be part of a team to go and practice there?

Awesome complex!!! Even have a large thermos refilling station for water!! Clean restrooms!! First time visiting and I’m impressed. If only all of our soccer games were at fields this nice. Way to go Mathews for showing the rest of the complexes how it’s done. Also the police were at both parking lots during the tournament which was appreciated!!

Nice soccer field that is very well-manicured. The venue was really great with some local eateries and craft beer. The Charlotte Independence team was very impressive with their soccer playing. I loved it!

Its a great stadium but its not conducive for those of us on the north and west side of Charlotte. I declined renewal of my season tickets to the Independence games because it is just not practical to support considering the traffic and distance to the facility.

Disappointing showing at the Duke-PENN game today. Was turned away because it was “sold out,” even though an entire side of the stands was empty, not being utilized, and patrons were leaving at a steady clip. Can’t fathom why this was so tightly controlled. Was even told I could not watch from outside the fence line. Why would you care?? Contract security staff (yellow jackets) were very rude, especially the one who said she was a supervisor. Missed opportunity for a great family day.

Best soccer complex in Charlotte area. Also has the best playgrounds in Charlotte!

We just attended the Fall Lacrosse Classic, this facility was amazing. All staff was friendly and hard working. Well organized and well marked. Yes a lot of walking but pathes were nice. During the bussy of the day bathrooms were still clean and well stocked and I never saw an over flowing trashcan or recycle bin. Amazing for a facility of this size and the amount of people that was there.

Very nice turf facility with numerous fields and clean restrooms on both sides of the complex. I do wish they had refreshments because it is used quite a lot and would be helpful if additional water, healthy snacks, etc. were needed.

This place is amazeballs! Bring your own chairs though if you want to be comfortable

My son loves this facility and family enjoys to come out to see him play soccer because it is a nice place. Maintained really well with plenty of seats and hassle free parking.

Great walking place

It was a great place. We were there for NC Special Olympics fall games.

They threaten to lock you in if you do not leave. Turned the lights off. I wish my son did not have to play on the fields here. My advice. Take a flashlight and be ready to leave ASAP before the truck with a bullhorn starts to threaten you about locking you. I am sure there will be a lawsuit in the near future from someone either hurting themselves or being locked in against their will.

An awesome sports complex with artificial turf fields for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, rugby. Paved and wooded walking trails connecting all the fields that you could use for exercise while waiting on your kids practices. Very clean bathrooms with handicapped accessible resources. A few small kids play areas. Covered pavilions with picnic tables available. Charlotte Independence plays here!!

The Sportplex is exactly what you would expect with its name. You can pretty much go and do any kind of workout you want. There are constant soccer and football games going on. There is also a nice area to run/walk/jog. The artificial turf is definitely a plus. Way less pounding or wear and tear on the body.

Great new facility with nice sports fields. The stadium seems very cozy and has a nice looking field house. Park also includes some nature trails.

Here for Senior Bowl and concessions are tragic, especially for families with little ones!! Disappointed!! Nice and new though!

Loved watching the Charlotte Independence play soccer here. Its a nice place, but sadly, I think theyre moving soon. Good soccer team, exciting game. They have a nice merch stand to buy t shirts and other novelty items. All in all, an excellent experience.

My sons play here frequently and its a great facility. There are picnic shelters, walking trails, grass and turf fields and playgrounds. It is always clean and there is ample parking. The on-site stadium is home to the Charlotte Independence and the Charlotte Eagles play here on occasion for reasonable ticket prices and parking fees. The park is still expanding but the construction is never obvious or in the way. There are bathrooms in each section that are usually pretty clean that are conveniently located next to the playgrounds. The lightning detection system keeps players and their families safe during inclement weather and the picnic style shelters are good for staying dry as well.***Update - not sure why but suddenly the goals that my sons are playing on are much smaller than regulation and are poorly made - the crossbar sags in the middle. Benches are no longer on the fields prior to games being played for the day. The fields closest to the walking trails and woods have no nets so games are constantly delayed as a player has to go chasing the ball into the woods every time it goes out behind the goal.

Charlotte Independence are family fun and date night exciting. Beautiful complex, some snacks, beer and cider. Great time!

Huge complex. Very well-maintained. A few covered seating areas. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The only thing is the turf is a pain when it rains since it holds water, but theres not much you can do about that. Great facility.

This facility is premier and perfect for any sporting event. Excellent fields, facilities, trails and plenty of parking. Also nicely located near main thoroughfares but tucked away just enough for comfort and safety.

Staff seemed confused about the availability of parking. Originally we were told to pay with a card then told it was cash only. Luckily they pointed me to an ATM down the road and literally 100 feet down the road was countless free street parking. Judging by how many people used that vs the paid parking Id say the complex is losing a lot of money by not having accurate understanding of their parking situation. The field was nice and the game was fun to watch. A few balls made it to the crowd, but as its a lower tier farm team they typically ask for them back which Im pretty sure is standard even in the MLS leagues if they arent all using netting around the field now.

There are not many places with this many turf fields in such great condition. The layout is great as its spread out. You do have to walk a good distance from the overflow parking lot for large tournaments but they have wide concrete paths and sidewalks.

We attended a Charlotte Independence professional soccer match. It was our first time there. Its a great experience. Close up to the action, great food truck concessions, and a very friendly group of fans. Truly fun for the whole family.
