Beautiful beach ! I went in October on a Thursday morning - no charge to enter park . I arrived at 720am and all fields had a solid number of cars; still plenty of parking as there are 5 fields . I parked in field 5 with an extremely short walk to the beach . The beach itself was clean and well taken care of . Some fishermen present . Most people wearing masks . I felt safe and park rangers where frequently making their rounds . No bugs, very windy . got to see deer making their way to the water :-) . Found my first ever sand dollars !! Stunning rocks and plenty of shells as the tide rolls out . Water is dark brown looking . I didn’t have a chance to walk the nature trail / lighthouse but have heard good things . Tons of local there ; all extremely nice & welcoming. Beautiful drive in and out. Highly recommend .
Not my idea of camping. Reserved two spaces, so we could enjoy a relaxing weekend outside with my parents. Unfortunately, we apparently were in the party zone. I get the fact that kids and dogs go with the territory, especially when camping in a state park, but karaoke at 11:00pm? Not to mention the fact that we were packed in like sardines. Again, its kind of hard to enjoy the outdoors when you cant help but overhear other peoples F-bomb littered campfire conversation. At least it didnt seem to bother my parents.
Very clean restrooms. Well maintained sites. Quiet on the week were were there. Definitely staying again!
Seems like a cool place. The visiting center was closed unfortunately. People were walking on the trails though.
Very nice campground. Staff were friendly n helpful. Sites were big with grass
Go every year. Cabin number 1. The best
Do not stay in the cabin!! I REPEAT! DO NOT STAY IN THE CABIN! It is gross, no air conditioning, my cabin is ridden with bugs and mice. Get me the frick out of here!
Nice quiet loop with very few camping neighbors. We had a great campsite with limited sun for cool and comfortable camping.
Been coming here for the last 5 year. Just a nice pleasant place to relax. There is alot of history here on the St. Lawrence river.
Excellent beach and clean restroom. I stayed here with a travel trailer for three nights.
Very nice and clean also alot of really nice people
Love the park.....great space, grounds well kept, and nice campsites. A few too many dogs (most well behaved...only a few not). Rest rooms nice, but for some reason not as clean this visit...same stuff on floors and in showers for all days of visit. Nice to see patrols going through during day.
Love this place its beautiful place to camp or swim.
Very nice park. Very quiet even over the 4th in the upper loop. Bathrooms were nice and kept clean. Workers at the park very nice but not bothersome would definitely come again. Lots of things to see near by like the locks, power authority generation plant and the nature center, had a great time.
We spent the day at the Nicandri Nature Center for a birthday party and the staff and facilities were perfect!
One of my favorite campgrounds
One of our favorite places to camp. Cabins are called rustic, but are actually quite comfortable. Very well maintained and family friendly.
Could watch the ships coming and going into the lock.
I loved this State Park and would camp here again but earlier in the Season!
Always have a great time here. everyone is very friendly. park is well maintained and clean. would recommend.
Easiest place in america to get a 50 musky
Nice park..but lack of boat launh..had to use out side of park..not a real problem
Best place to fall camp! And if your lucky you can get a site to see all the ships!
I would give 5 stars but the bafoons in charge restricted the rest of us law abiding citizens so much since Sept 11 2001 that its not as fun anymore. Many who were kids then know what I mean.
This park has spacious grassy and shaded sites, its clean well kept and quiet.
Great campground on the St Lawrence seaway watching the boats go through Eisenhower locks.
Beautiful scenery of the St. Lawrence River and ships that pass through, to and from the Great Lakes and Atlantic Ocean.
Nice little state park. Not overcrowded. Great place for a walk or picknick. There is a nature center as well as a hydroelectric dam. Watch your speed when driving through the park. There is a tunnel under a lock or or waterway. The height is 13 6. Tall vehicles like rvs and campers make sure all antennas are down or you will loose them.
We go there 10 times a year, the nature is gorgeous there, the beach is clean, playground is huge, grills are everywhere
Absolutely love this place! Its our annual Labor Day tradition. Spacious sites, nice fire rings, close proximity to the locks and amenities. Only complaint this year is people with dogs that bark constantly. If you cant control them leave them home! I didnt come on vacation 3 hours from home to listen to them bark!
My family and I were at your campground this past weekend. I do believe you get what you pay for. There were very few amenities on the grounds. We chose this establishment as it was close to our family. Which is probably the only positive factor in my experience. I thought the lady at the registration office was not very personable. Dealing with the public I believe this is a very important quality to have. I have yet to visit a campground that does not have leash laws/rules. Although i also have yet to visit a campground where the people actual follow this rule or that the campground enforces it. I have a very sweet dog that loves people but does not get along with other animals. I keep her on a lead/leash the WHOLE time we camp. I make sure not to bring her to the dog parks. I am doing my part to make sure we have a pleasant and relaxing time while we camp. Rules are put into place for every ones well being and safety. Unfortunately while we were there we had a dog wonder onto our site. I told a gentlemen that there are leash rules and he proceeded to get nasty with me ending in a heated verbal altercation. For this reason and others I will never again stay here again. Very disappointed
The bathrooms by the pavilion in the old camping section are disgusting. The whole building needs alot of work . To bad it is not run as well as coles creek.
Raccoons got a little close for comfort we are in there woods had fun so did my son
Beautiful park but no water hook up or direct sewer
We camped here for a week. We really liked it. They do not have full hookups or we would have stayed here the whole time. The playground is nice and the beach is really clean and clear. They even have a lifeguard. They have pretty nice bath houses with a place to wash dishes but no laundry that I saw.
The kids always enjoy time spent here learning every new thing they can!
Been going 30 yrs. As always wonderful 5 stars
Large beach area with plenty of places to picnic, nice place to enjoy the Saint Lawrence River.
The man that works at the park marina was excellent!! He was very friendly and taught us how to operate one of the fishing boats that is available for rent. We had a lot of fun, and we thought it was an affordable bargain. We stayed in cabin number seven. It had a secluded yard, but only offered a sliver of a view of the St. Lawrence. This park is large and you have to drive to the park amenities.
I have been camping here since i was a child its a Great environment, lots of space for larger campers, the grounds are relatively clean but I recommend taking a shower in your camper if able to because the showers in the bathroom are too dam hot and you have to keep pushing the button on the wall and when you have soap in your eyes it makes the task somewhat difficult not to mention the bathrooms and showers dont look very clean. Theres a nice playground by the beach and an old swing in the other part of the camp ground its nice that they finally fixed the road coming in
Beautifully maintained with lovely views over the St Lawrence
Nice view of the St. Lawrence river. Watching the ships entering and leaving the locks.
One of the best NYS campgrounds, clean, large sites, great views, quiet
Fun and beautiful
Great campsite. Camp there few times every year.
Great place for nature hikes.
Great place to learn about the power dam and can take ur kids to watch movies that they have there. Also have activities there off and on for the kids and whole family
Love camping here- so peaceful!
I brought 5 of my grandchildren to the day camp. We learned about turtles. Saw 7 varieties. Then raced them. The biggest one won. After a lunch break we went out on the snow trails in snowshoes. We had a terrific time.
Wonderful place! Great for families.
Would stay again, however sites are close together and water sources are hard to get a RV near. No fresh water at dump station or near non electric sites. Many activities in park Beach, locks, nature center. Once again pricey for out of state travelers.
Great place to visit and not only once. One of the best camping sites around
Beautiful Park
Beaxh is huge . Camping sites are all grassy and bigExcellent place for camping.
Our campsite was disgusting. There were used condoms we rushed to clean up before our little ones found them. The fire pit had rotting food in it. If it wasnt for our kids being so excited we wouldve just left. I called several times and tried to talk to a manager but was told there wasnt one there. I left my contact information and still havent heard from anyone. Several other campers called to complain about other things and was told the same thing. We all went and bought toilet paper because the bathrooms didnt have any for over a day, even though staff stopped several times to clean them. Even after the woman camping next to me called they showed up but didnt even get out of the truck. Will never go there again!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Nicandri Nature Center. Very dedicated and informative staff. Fun trails through the woods and lots of planned activities.
Not bad except missing some fun for kids and swimming due to NY state laws cant have fins or inflatables etc ....
I found my stay at cabin 5 for a week quite nice.isaw deers turkeys. The scenery was gorgeous. In the fall water level was down so fishing from shore was tough. Weather was great for a bonfire. I had a great stay with friends and the cabin was nice.cozy
Very nice place, big lots to camp on
The Main Building is great! The Honey Bees are a great addition! Trails were mostly grass and dirt. Not too great after rain, muddy. Lots of bugs.
Such an amazing resource for families who love to be outdoors. The staff is so helpful and theyre great teachers too.
My daughters and I enjoyed our visit here. Th e nature center is beautiful. Nice trails too.
A beautiful facility. Unfortunately, we went on Labor Day weekend and there were plenty of typical holiday weekend campers present: loud, drunk, and obnoxious . Our site (among others) was not left clean by the last group. The Eisenhower Lock is amazing and the Power Dam visitors center is interesting with lots of hands-on exhibits.Well go back on a non-holiday weekend.
Beautiful Park went there in late May only problem is a lot of caterpillar worms coming out of the trees I will definitely go back but probably Camp more out in the open instead of the wooded area
Great place to watch the ships.
Very clean and well maintained trails. Has little pictures with info for the kiddos.
Beautiful place, lots to do and see.
Great trails! Amazing Nature Center for all ages. Staff is very friendly too.
Great place to go!
Great place for a hike
Even the officer who gave me a speeding ticket was friendly..
Not a good experience at all. Sites were small, uneven, and mud pits. That being said it was a very rainy summer. No excuse for the small uneven lots though. Hardly no phone reception for AT&T or Verizon. You have to drive half way out of the park to get signal.
The new nature center is AMAZING!!!! A must see if you are in the area! Great for kids and very interactive
Lots of campsites...both with and without hookups...have been lucky to get a great site, even without reservations.
Easy access. Nice lots and beautiful beach access. Nice family atmosphere and pets are allowed. Nice paved roadways. Plus there is power!!!!
Several kinds of campsites. Wooded, water, large, small, electric non electric. Area is well maintained. Nice bathrooms
Nice place for a family picnic or get together.
Excellent place to stay. Very clean and friendly people.
New educational museum that all ages will enjoy. Very well organized.
Yoga with Allison has been fantastic. Today bluejays were flying outside and reminded me of my sister, who I loss a year ago.
Nice place for a picnic and BBQ. Good place to hang out with friends and family along the beach.
Good fishing. yee yee
If your there at the right place right time, surprises maybe witnessed.
Went to the new nature center, very very nice lots of hands on and live critters...
Love this hidden gem in northern NY state, great beaches, campgrounds and picnic areas on the beautiful St Lawrence!
Love it.Go there many times each year
