Not sure what to make of this park. Perhaps they are letting it go natural.Starts on a hill with the Marina Library at the Crest. At the bottom is a large pond.It is as if the city doesnt have the money to take care of this park. Lot of yellow weeds that out grow the grass and the grass doesnt seem to be watered. Pieces of the sprinkler system are laying around.Tree and reeds growth cover the ponds edges so it is almost impossible to see. Viewing platforms are in a dangerous state. Trails are not in the best of shape. Bathrooms are ok.Homeless pass through the area but, have always left me alone.Could be really nice park with funding and TLC.

Sure it has some beautiful aspects to it. The walking path is nice and connects with the library playground. However my kids felt uncomfortable with the number of homeless camped on the grounds and the parking lot seems very sketchy at times (especially as the day advances)

Great place to walk and enjoy the scenery w/ nature of the local habitat. The sounds of nature are of abundance for sound therapy. And there is the local read center called the Monterey County free library of the Monterey Peninsula at the top of the hill. Location Seaside court in 93933.

The City of Marina has done such a great job of building it into a pedestrian friendly and green place to live in. Locke-Paddon Park in the jewel in its crown. The wetlands, the migrating birds, the walking path, all make this a lovely place to exercise, sit and enjoy nature, or take a break and eat your lunch here.

Used to enjoy bringing my nieces and daughter here to watch the ducks. But lack of caring for the brush around and in the water blocks the water view, and lack of ducks.

The mens toilet has not worked in 3 months, & now it has been locked up for a month. I bet that if a toilet broke at a Marina city office, it would be fixed by the next day.

So the place is kinda gross. Pretty sure its just a sewage runoff. However its a cool spot to hang out with a variety of different types of ducks. They have a few trails which seem tempting to take but it just smells and I worry about getting bit by bugs carrying who knows what.

Known as, The Duck Pond to us locals. This place holds particular place in my heart. Although I didnt know when I was an unknowing adolescent, I used to come here and feed the ducks bread. Which is a no go. It dirties the water, and provides no actual nutrition. Sadly the drought we Californians faced a few years ago caused a majority of the mallards, geese, and other birds to migrate elsewhere. The cool ones stayed though. Also I used to catch crawdads on the green pontoon bridge that was once afloat there. Sadly after years, and years.... and years of just being there. The bridge broke apart after a strong storm. All this aside, what was once a man made pond has turned into a beautiful micro wet land. I vaguely remember hearing city officials saying they would repair the bridge, years have passed and still no bridge. Also, with all the gopher holes and what not in the space between with library, and The Duck Pond. One should be careful walking and/or running there. You could easily twist an ankle and/or injure yourself.
