Great quiet trail along the river (although you only rarely catch a glimpse of or path to it). Nice and shaded. Large field near parking lot with a huge octagonal pavilion and picnic tables.

Short “hiking” trail. The hiking trail is about .75 miles each way. This is mainly for getting to the river and not for hiking. Still, it’s a pretty area and a nice quick walk. A little portion at the end of the trail was closed for revegetation and erosion control as of 6/14/2020.

So much fun!You can see end big houses on the river. You can rent bikes which is what we did and the first hour is free. If you are in ATL and want a break from the city this is a great way to Get it.It’s something that is just simple trail but there is so many creeks and mountains.

Wonderful and beautiful place to go hiking, fishing, kayaking, tubing, etc... Make sure to read the sign in the parking lot carefully. There is a $5 per vehicle charge to park (put slip in windshield), but it is very easy to miss that notification and the police do come and check. Regardless, it is a very well maintained area and the proceeds help to keep it that way.

Great place to watch from when they release water from the dam. Especially after a heavy rain!

Amazing place. I would take a walk there every day if I live there. Found a copperhead snake(see the video). Wonderful place to walk dogs, clean and taken care of, but there’s always an ****hole who likes to throw a can of beer or an empty bag of chips here and there, I picked 2 bags of trash, but that was it.

Been going here with the dog for years - a great place. Today, however, she stepped on a copperhead that was lying in the middle of the trail with some leaves. It was young - maybe 20” long, but it bit her in a front paw. At BluePearl now. Be very cautious!!!!

Wow! Just visiting from Charlotte NC area and needed some nature time to distress. This was home away from home. Beautiful! Low traffic, no trash. Next to the water! Tons of birds!!!

The map marker for this location is wrong and is actually a very small section with a very short walk that dead ends. My dog was bitten by a snake here and Ive seen a least a dozen right on the trail and in the field where they got bitten too. In addition its isolation has lead to a couple cars being broken into (while I was there in just 5 minutes) so be aware of that problem when you park. For the well known and better walk drive to the end of Columns Drive, This where everyone goes - runners, bicycles, dog walkers - it has a longer trail, paved & more parking and a loop trail that is very long. It also has a water fountain, restrooms, and trash cans. Great place to get outdoors.

So much fun to Shoot The Hootch. My recommendation is to just buy a life vest and raft.

Less crowded than other nearby options and still lovely. I mostly go there for my dog and its his favorite place in Atlanta.

Small park. You can do some walking and hiking here but not long enough for a run. Gets you down to the water though. Nice.
