Our 6 year-old did a trial class this past Saturday (3/3/18) and we were completed repulsed by the entire facility for several reasons: (1) The lady running the front desk was way too pushy. We told her up-front that we were just doing a 1-day trial of the beginner class, and she tried to get us to immediately enroll as monthly members. When I told her no, she said, Ok, just tell me your final answer after todays trial is over. Again, no. I have every right to shop around at different gyms until we find the right one... (2) Our daughter has minimal prior experience, which only includes cartwheels, handstands, front-facing rolls, etc. Well, her coach (a male) told them to do a backwards roll, which she has never done before. She told him she didnt know how to do it, so he just lifted her legs and rolled her over backwards ON HER NECK. She immediately started crying because it hurt (naturally), and he said just to shake it off and do some handstands instead. REALLY? You have a beginner telling you that she doesnt know how to do something and youre just going to toss her over without teaching proper technique??? I couldnt believe it. Not only did he not listen to my daughters concerns, but he also could have severely injured her... (3) The gym smelled horrendous. I understand that gyms have a certain aroma from the equipment, the athletes being barefoot, etc., but this is the worst-smelling gym I have ever entered (and I grew up playing many different sports, so Ive been in several over my lifetime)... So, if you value your childs health and safety, DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS GYM.

My daughter joined Atlanta North Stars as on the Excel team 4 seasons ago, and is now currently training JO Level 9. Atlanta North Stars has highly qualified coaches that have moved her through the various levels and she has been very successful each competition season. In fact, all the competitive teams at the gym are highly ranked in the state! (Kudos to our great coaches!) Our competitive team gymnasts are like a sisterhood.....the girls all really enjoy being together and root each other on during meet season! If your child is a beginner and loves gymnastics, the recreational tumbling classes will offer her a lot of fun and if she desires to go the competitive team route there are various options from which to choose, and coaches that are knowledgeable and can guide you to the path thats best for your gymnast.

We have been here for about a year now, my daughter came with some self doubt but has grown to believe in herself because ALL her coaches believe in her. She has the best team mates who encourage her and everyday she leaves with a smile, and if you have ever seen her smile youd know thats worth a million bucks!!! Thank you ANSG for bringing her smile and confidence back.

Horrible. Once we left this place my daughter actually started to like gymnastics again. Not a great facility. Mean coaches who actually said figure it out when my daughter was questioning something. While watching during a class I also noticed the coaches were more into gossiping with each other then paying attention to the private lessons they were giving to other students.

My daughter 6, started here a few months ago against my better judgment. It is UN-kept, dirty, the bathrooms are never cleaned and disgusting. But the coach seemed OK. Well now my daughter has a new summer coach and she is nothing but MEAN to her and rude. She tried something new that scared her and the coach said she did a terrible job instead of encouragement! She pushed down so hard on her when she was doing a split she was sore fore 2 days! She was bullied by another girl in her SAME CLASS. Unexcuseable! Stay away

My daughter joined the optionals team at Atlanta North Stars Gymnastics a year ago. She had outgrown the gym where she started out 8 years prior and needed to find a facility with great coaches and a large level 9/10 team. At such a high level, she needed mentors who were already doing the skills she was starting to learn. A coach at a different local gym recommended that we take a look at North Stars because she said it was the only gym she would send her daughter to in Georgia. ANSG has a proven track record training girls at level 9/10 and consistently sends gymnasts to college on scholarship. Stepping foot in the gym the first time we knew it was very different from anywhere we had been; the positive energy flowing through the gym is contagious. The gymnasts constantly cheer for each other, the coaches shout corrections but stay positive. It’s fun to see how excited the coaches get when the girls get a new skill. So many of the girls that transfer to ANSG come from very negative coaching environments. Its been wonderful watching these girls grow as gymnasts as they begin to regain much of that lost confidence. I highly recommend ANSG. It’s not fancy – but it’s all heart with great coaches and great girls that are not only talented gymnasts but wonderful friends.

We joined ANSG about 3 years ago and have been more then pleased with the gym. The coaching staff is professional and knowledgable in the sport of gymnastics and they understand how to cater their coaching and skills to each gymnasts needs. I hope my daughter continues to thrive in the sport and I look forward to many more years with Coach Grisha.
