We come here a few times a week to play 9 in the evening. You will catch some really great sunsets if you play in the evening. The course is well maintained and there are some really interesting holes here. My only complaint is the greens. They are tough, but a fun challenge if you aren’t used to greens that roll. They also get tricky around the green because it gets muddy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have never had an issue with booking tee times. They have precautions for COVID-19 (required masks inside, thoroughly sanitize carts, pool noodles in hole, etc.). The pace of play is sometimes slow because there are a lot of beginners that come to this course. There are multiple putting/chipping areas by the driving range that are great to practice on while waiting for your tee time.

City club is one of the shorter courses in the Marietta area, is well maintained, and the greens were replaced about a year ago. I play there frequently and the senior card is a good deal for frequent players. If you decide to play there just remember the greens are very hard.

Do you enjoy long putts on the beach? If so, this is the place for you! I’ve never played on greens that were so bad. Every putt I had went through some sort of sand or garbage on the green. I wish I would have quit after 4-5 holes and got my money back. It’s sad that I traveled an hour to get here and paid almost $50 for the most poorly maintained course I’ve ever been to. I’d say 14/18 greens are very similar to the ones in the photos below. Do yourself a favor and learn from our mistake! Don’t book a tee time here as you will be miserable the whole round.

For a public course in the atlanta area, it’s probably the best course you can get for the price($45). Firm greens that roll fast, Par 71 and well maintained course. Definitely impressed

The course is lovely! My husband and I were so excited to be staying next door on a business trip so we could play after work. I had hoped to play often in our 2 weeks and buy some ladies clothes as well. The one ladys shirt on sale and the lack of any left ladies clubs to rent has burst that bubble. We also had to pay for 2 mens sets anyways.

Could be a decent course but unfortunately they pack you in like sardines with other golfers. Play is incredibly slow, lots of mindless golfers and all city club cares about is $$

Greens in much better shape than last year. My problem was that neither the pro shop nor starter let us know of the 7:30pm “business curfew”. Our round was cut short with 5 holes due to the curfew. Next time let your customer know before they book an evening tee time that you can’t have a cart after 7:30pm...

This is a $15 - $20 course and that’s pushing it. Poorly maintained with weeds everywhere and dead spots on the greens. The prices are outrageous for the “value”. The course layout is also not challenging and is super short. HIGHLY do not recommend.

Nice course for part time golfers. Staff is extremely friendly. You will see reviews for the terrible greens but they are getting fixed after Memorial Day. Look forward to being back here in August when the new greens are in!

A great place for an event. We hosted our high school reunion here. Great layout for that. Only 4 out of 5 stars cause it was hot/the AC didnt seem to work well enough to cool the room off. Kenny at The Pub is a cool/interesting guy.

This is an update to my post a couple of years ago. The greens are in much better shape. They are showing a few signs of the issue they previously had. I hope they can kept them in good shape because it’s a fun course and a great location. The greens are in terrible shape. Most have large pockets of turf missing that makes putting impossible. It’s like pot holes on the green. There is no way I would pay full price to play there until the greens are right

The golf course and staff suck the price is to expensive for nothing, the condition of the course has never been in good shape and they charge way to much for it. Ive been playing in a tournament here every year and the pro never acknowledges that we bring in a lot of money every year. I played a round there and most courses offer a second free round or just a green fee, city club wanted me to pay full price for the second round. Also they do not have twilight tee times. Also they say they close at 630, doors to the pro shop were locked at 6pm. Overall dont want waste your money here!

They have basically lost most of their greens. Many are over 50% dirt. I’m not sure if it’s because of our hot summer or disease but if there was ever a need to rip out the greens, that time has arrived for this course. I won’t be back until this problem is fixed.

Greens were nearly unplayable. They had more mud than grass. Typically one of my favorite places to play in the area. Most likely won’t be playing there for a while. We considered Saturday a wasted round.

Course is decent not amazing but decent. However they do not know how to govern tee times and seem more concerned with cramming as many people on the course as possible. Every tee your waiting on a group ahead of you that are waiting on the group ahead of them. They either need to be more strict on starting times or have rangers ensuring pace of play is being upheld. It should never take a group of 2 5+ hours to play 18!

Been playing here for years. June, 2014 and its probably in the best shape I can recall. I love this old style layout (except #2). Wish they could find a way to expand a few par 3s but there simply is no room. Love this place.

First, let me say that this sort of course has its place. It provides a more than adequate place for someone to experience the game of golf at a very reasonable price. However, that said, I personally wont be rushing back here.I played here in a Charity event and found the course to be deficient in a number of areas - sparse grass on the tee boxes, very patchy fairways with plenty of weeds and bumpy greens. The course was also very short. If fear a lot of golfers coming here for the first time might leave disappointed. However, for the occasional and/or budget conscious golfer, The City Club of Marietta might well satisfy their needs.

Great golf course. Course is in amazing shape. Greens are kept up and not riddled with ball marks. Not a long course, but is challenging. Requires well placed iron shots from several tees. Recommend this course.

My wife booked us a round of golf here for my birthday. Shes just learning and we were excited to golf together (and to go on a rare date after hiring a sitter). They waited until we were on the tee to tell us that we would be matched with another pair and then tried to explain condescendingly that thats just what we do on nice days. Ive been golfing for 25 years and never been forced to share a tee time without advanced notice or being asked if it was okay...not once and this includes courses at a much lower price point. Disappointed with how they handled it...poor communication, no attempt to try and make it right. Well take our business somewhere its appreciated.Edit/reply - the twosome behind us had no such issue. Thanks for your reply but it honestly falls short and seems hollow.

Greens were in awful shape. They were very shaggy and had 3 different types of grass on them. Bad part was they still had the courage to charge 58 bucks. First course Ive played in Marietta and not planning on going back.

Par 3 greens are getting a little dinged up. Pro shop should make sure to hand out cheapo repair tools, especially in peak season.

Staff was friendly and the course has a pretty cool layout. However, the greens are in extremely bad shape and the fairways are dirt. It is fun to have your balls roll from a near stand still to over 100 yards away but hitting off of it is very difficult. I am disappointed because I have heard good things about the course but to pay nearly $50 around noon for greens like that doesnt make a lot of sense.

Great staff, short but very fun layout. Fairways and rough are good, about a 7, tee boxes about a 4 (there are a few that are not level and full of sand, and greens are the main reason people dislike this course. They are a 3. Some greens are worse than others, but many are un-puttable. Until they get their greens replaced (which I hope is soon), I would recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

I really enjoy this course. I am new to golf and only recently started playing this year, so I havent had a chance to play many courses, but have played City Club four times between May 2015 - August 2015. The course is beautiful and challenging. However recently the greens have taken a turn for the worse. Many of them, especially on the front 9 are un-puttable. The prices for a round are also quite high, especially when you consider current conditions of the greens.
