My boys and I just moved to the keys and absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly and the aquarium tanks are spotless- no gross mildew or cloudy water seen anywhere. I love that for the sake of the marine life! So many species of fish, sharks, turtles, rays, and shellfish in one place it was very enjoyable. One of the divers named Donald was extra kind with my two boys, showing them all the creatures in the touch tank and giving them each a sting ray tooth and a shark tooth! They have carried the teeth around for days.I have to say that in September in the Florida Keys I found the place to be quite shaded and enjoyable. We stayed for three hours and watched all the feedings take place around lunchtime which was super cool too!I also appreciate that the prices were reasonable at the snack bar and the sweet lady working helped my boys obsess over which flavor ice cream they wanted. Overall, one of my new favorite places many thanks to the nice staff, the cleanliness, and the diversity of cool creatures. We happily became members on the way out and look forward to regular visits.
I was originally worried when I saw the price knowing that it was a fairly small operation...BUT my family absolutely LOVED this place!! The grounds are amazingly well kept, the tanks are clean and very well maintained. The staff was so friendly. We were so excited to get to feed and touch so many different animals! We were on our way back from Key West and it was a spontaneous stop. So happy we decided to pull in. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.
Pretty cool experience...extremely pricey but pretty cool. We did the snuba dive with Donald on our honeymoon. I definitely don’t think you should have to pay $25 for general admission if you pay $230 per person to dive, then another $100 for photos. Way too pricey for the experience but it was an experience since our other outdoor excursions were cancelled due to the weather. Donald is super cool though!
My family LOVES this place!Top notch.... This facility is so educational and fun! Its managed beautifully with a great team of people who really love what they do.Every time is a fun experience. And if the kids need a snack or parents a cold beverage... Theyve got it and with a view!Totally worth it and great memories to follow...
Pretty nice place. They do feedings for their sea animals and encourage you to watch. Not too crowded which is good. But definitely unbearable going in mid day and having to wear mask. Not sure if we saw everything because after about 45 minutes we felt like we were suffocating. Overall we liked it though
Fun experience, Rachel really knows her stuff there! Very knowledgeable and eager to answer all questions.
Very interactive, high highly recommend checking it out. If you kids, this would be even more fun for them.
Not a huge aquarium but it was awesome. A lot of interactive with sea life and animals and my kid loved it. Well worth the money
Went to this awesome aquarium today and had a great time! The staff truly care about the animals and the guests. We figured that we would spend an hour or two here however we ended up staying all day! We fed stingrays and turtles and got to see many other feedings as well. My son did the reef snorkeling encounter and said that it was the best day ever. Totally recommend.
Wow! What an amazing place to visit. The fact that the aquarium is build right in its natural habitat made it very unique. We loved everything about it. A special thanks to Everett for taking the time to teach us about all the animals in the touch tank. The shark encounter was also great and reasonably priced. If I had one suggestion it would be to add a Manatee area. Well be back for sure!!!
It was a wonderful experience! We got the snorkeling experience in the coral reef tank for our 10 year old son and he enjoyed it very much! Very personal, and lots of feeding throughout the whole place with different animals. Also very educational! Definitely recommend it.
Make sure to visit - we were shocked at the number of animals the have on hand. Great setup, very interactive. The staff was incredible; they made our visit memorable and my son talked about it for days. Petting and feeding stingrays, sharks, watching them feed the 400lb colossal grouper, learning about the local flora and fauna filled a lot of gaps we were wondering as we visited throughout the keys. Top it off with the great cause they represent and reasonable pricing - highly recommend.
The staff was very knowledgeable about the animals and happy to answer questions. We did the stingray encounter and highly recommend it.
My friend and I decided to visit the Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters when our dive boat got canceled. We did the stingray encounter and spent 3 hours here. We enjoyed our visit. We learned many interesting facts about stingrays and got to feed them. As we walked around to the other exhibits, staff members were able to answer all the questions I had.If you have kids, theyll have a good time here and love to touch tanks. But please make sure your kids are gentle with the creatures.
So much fun. Our little girl loved everything. Very informative. Very nice workers. Will be back to do the encounters
Fun place! The employees were very friendly & helpful. We did the nurse shark feeding and the snorkeling experience. The snorkeling was super fun and a nice option for when weather is not conducive to snorkeling in the ocean. We did not have time to eat before we went so during a break between the 2 events we went to the snack bar for a beer & grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing fancy, but nice to have an onsite option if you need to grab a bite to eat.
Nice array of Florida and marine life. Very geared toward families, but adults can enjoy it too.
AMAZING!!!!! We did the snorkle encounter and it was so worth it! Getting to feed sharks was so cool! Alot of cool touch tanks...better than any I have seen before. Very educational staff members. We also were able to feed turtles and pet an alligator.
Really nice aquarium. I enjoyed my visit, will stop back again.
Wonderful experience. Its nice to see a place where the animals are so well taken care of. We were looking for something to kill some time on the way out of the keys and before our sunset dinner on Islamorada. This was perfect. The staff was very informative and friendly and really love their jobs. It means so much more when the residents have names. That makes me happy. Great facility.
Cute little place. I was told there was not much to do but when I arrived there was plenty of stuff to do and see! You can feed animals, snorkel, touch tanks. My daughter had a blast. Not the biggest craziest aquarium out there but it is plenty for small children.
It was awesome. A great place to take the family.
The COOLEST little roadside attraction in the Keys. I wish I could remember her name, but a young girl from Michigan was working the feeding station and she told us so much about the animals in the touch tank. She was awesome. Its a small place but just the touch tanks to me are worth the price of admission. Go upstairs and see and touch the giant aquatic roly polys!! This place is clean and beautiful with great staff and happy animals.
Much better than the KW aquarium. Very interactive for the kids and staff is super friendly and educational
Great place to bring the family. We all did the snorkeling and shark feeding, and it was a blast!! Donald was our guide, and he was awesome! He made our experience great.
What an amazing experience. We did the shark experience where we all got a chance to rub and feed a nursing shark and learn more about its history. My daughter, boyfriend, and I fed stingrays and was able to pet them.
This place is great! Small but packed with so many fun things to do. Make sure you get the pass to feed the animals. The sting rays and turtles are great to feed and touch.
Good educational day, while my son had the experience of a lifetime.
One of the highlights of our Keys trip. Really enjoyed walking around looking at all the animals. Lots of friendly staff happy to answer questions. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area
We have been to many sea aquariums on the east side and to be honest this is the least impressive one.I will say the staff is really friendly but for $25.00 a head and it literally takes 15 to 30 min to complete not worth it now if your going for all the other stuff you have to pay for might be worth it but its not worth 25 just to see the exhibits
Excellent family spot. If you’re looking for a little break from boating, sunshine and tiki bars, this aquarium will keep kids and adults entertained for a few hours. Hands on opportunities to touch and feed various sea life, view sharks, reef fish and more. Check it out!
Super fun experience, very interactive with several touch tanks!
We had an amazing time at the aquarium today!! All covid protocols are followed so we felt very safe there. My son did the sting ray experience and absolutely loved it. The staff member, Jesse, made my son feel so special on his 7th birthday and gave him a surprise. Amanda did our tour and sting ray experience and she was super friendly. All the staff there were great!!
Wonderful! Polite knowledgeable employees, reasonable pay as you go system with no extras needed for a great visit.
Lots of fun, very interactive, just small.
Great place to go! Dolphins love people and pictures and will come up to the side of enclosure to see you. You can feed stingrays and nurse sharks. You can feed dolphins or even swim with them. Amazing place!
The Coral Reef Snorkel Encounter was amazing! We were able to see the reef environment up close while snorkeling inside the coral reef tank. We fed the animals in the coral reef tank, including the stingrays Chip and Dale, then we got to feed the sharks in the neighboring tank! The guide that took us into the tank was very informative, answering our questions about any of the animals in each tank. It was truly an amazing experience to see this environment up close!
Its a really interesting place and you get to see a lot of fun stuff, but if you do the encounters, I dont recommend buying the photo package. It costs around $75 for all the photos and videos. While the video was okay, the majority of the photos are severely tilted to the point you canr rotate them without cropping most of the image. They are also very grainy, not the quality shown on the website. I would ask for a refund if they werent digital downloads.Really appreciated the reply from the business! Changed my rating from 3 to 5 starts. Great customer service even after the experience!
Small but fun. Stingray tank is a must
Awesome place. Lots of encounters available. Nurse shark feeding was good. Rays feeding was good. But the highlight was shark feeding and deep underwater feeding using snuba style cables. I wish they had allowed for real scuba diving tanks. Take lots of pictures. Very friendly staff. Can be a bit pricey but worth it if you are going to do feeding adventures. Great place for young kids too.
For bad keys weather and you cant or dont like to snorkel, this place is perfect! Lots of fun stuff to do. Our snorkel trip was canceled due to weather, my dear husband scheduled a coral reef snorkeling. Ok so its not like being out in a reef but it was great! Ryan knew so much and he answered all of our questions !! Big fish expert! Loved him! The other exhibitions were fun even for adults. Gift shop should be expanded, but its cute.
Great place, nice people, definitely worth it. I recommend the big shark encounter, my fiance loved it and it was worth the extra money. Value comes in the experience and enjoyment.
Very informative and knowledgeable staff really enjoyed the different kinds of sea life that we got to feed touch and interact with. definitely a great way to kill a couple hours plus all of the proceeds go back to the animals.
This aquarium is very cool. The main point is that it is experiential. You can swim with the fish. You can feed the sharks. (There is a charge for this) You can pet rays and other marine animals. The guides are marine biologists and they are extremely informative. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. All of the experiences are under shaded enclosures, so this is an excellent activity if you got a little too much sun the day before:-)
There was so much to see and animsls to touch. It was a great experience. Even when it rained we were able to be inside or under cover. The food at the lil stand was great. It wasnt crowded or uncomfortable.
Really enjoyed!! Small but very, very well done. Will go again.
Great hands-on educational experience for the entire family!
This place is really cool. They have a lot to offer and staff is nice.
Superb and extremely friendly staff. We did the shark encounter and it was magnificent!
General admission is a bit pricey for what you get, I presume the real bang for your buck Congress with the actual encounters. Very well maintained and friendly staff makes it seem worth it though if you have some time to burn. Also, I imagine its even better for the kiddos.
Just paid for general admission and it was amazing. It included so many educational tours of the animals, interactions with feeding and touching the wildlife, the exhibits and aquariums were amazing, the staff was super friendly. Florida natives ourselves and we loved it! Highly recommended.
The whole family had such an amazing time here.Very informative! We all loved the touch tanks and feeding them...
This is definitely a place to spend the day. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. You certainly get your monies worth regardless of the choices you make. There is a set fee and then for an additional charge there are options. We chose feeding the rays and sharks. Check the schedule and make sure you stick around for the tortoise and turtle feedings. We did those with no additional charges. You can also watch them feed the prey and predator fish in the aquarium.
Impressive. Watched all sorts of animal feedings and the kids got to touch/feed sting rays, horseshoe crabs, starfish, conch shells, and several others. The staff is so passionate and helpful at explaining each interesting fact about each animal. There was even a really neat shark tooth hunting section. Loved this place!
Wonderful day with great staff, and a beautiful Aquarium! They have great interactive programs that are a must!!Cant wait to come back next year!
Fun Place to Take The Kids! Feeding the Sting Rays & Swimming With & Feeding the Fish is Fun Experience
Awesome to place to stop by on a cloudy or rainy day. I recommend looking online or calling first to ask about the feeding times. You can walk through this place in 30 minutes. At 1:30 they feed a giant grouper George and that is pretty cool. You can also feed the sharks in the water through protected glass.
The staff was amazingly friendly. The kids did the coral reef encounter and really enjoyed it. We recommend to everyone.
A great experience for my girls. They had a blast. Thanks for the staff for providing a great time
Spent a few hours here on our last day in the Keys. The kids loved it. They especially enjoyed playing with the baby stingrays and I think the lil stingrays liked to play with my kids. They swam in circles and would come around and tickle their hands. They were so adorable
Great place for families to see marine life up close.
This was a great place to take the kids on our Florida Keys vacation! They loved seeing and petting a lot of the animals. Watching the park feed the Nurse Sharks of the dock was definitely the highlight! The kids would have loved to go back everyday!
All the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We had a guided tour by a marine biologist. There are so many different species of aquatic animals its unbelievable. Definitely gotta go if you like animals and are at all interested in knowing a little more about them. They hand feed a close to 400 pound Goliath grouper and its an amazing experience!
Super fun aquarium, we spent a couple hours here, learning about different sea life. Cool touch tanks where you can feed a variety of animals. They have additional encounters which cost extra, they looked very fun but we enjoyed ourselves plenty with the general admission. However the cafe took forever to both order and receive our food, if you plan on eating here I hope you have some patience!
Awesome family fun, you have to go
Nice wee walk around with three lagoons to look into along with tanks to look at. Can feed the animals along the way and they all swarm when you do so thats pretty cool. Plus the little shows they put on to teach you about the fish are good
Loved it! Much bigger than you would think. Bring quarters to get fish/gator food.
They have beautiful buildings with tropical atmosphere. Excellent for family outings. You can feed the many cute stingrays, fish, turtles and even ! We even bought some eggs that will hatch into (fake) turtles! Good place to visit with children.
Small place it was fun but way too expensive they ask way too much money for what they offer.
Amazing place! Beautiful environment, many different varieties of fish. Theres rays, sharks, a touch tank, etc. You can do encounters like touching the sharks or sitting with rays, watch feedings, dig for shark teeth, and much more. There are highly intelligent and interactive staff to guide you and answer questions, and even a find and seek paper with a prize at the end! There is a cafe and gift shop for everything you need, with excellent food and jewellery; they even sell pet hermit crabs! I would highly recommend this place to everyone, even locals enjoy it, and its fun for people of all ages! There is always something new to see. Also, locals and veterans get 10% off.
Very small but cute aquarium.
Such a great experience here. My toddler absolutely loved it. She got to feed the alligators, rays and tarpon. She loved it so much when we went in the morning that we went back in the afternoon. Staff is helpful and friendly and all the animals are well cared for.
Awesome staff and amazing experience. Three of our boys enjoyed the snorkel experience! Thanks Don, you rock.
Small facility that allows you to have direct access to the staff, and even pet a few rays in the touch-tank. Bring a few quarters, so you can use the candy machines for 50cents, get some food to feed the fish and gators. Family friendly and they give a discount to Florida residents. A nice activity for families. They have other encounters where you can swim with the fish or wrestle with gators or whatever... but thats extra $$$.
A lot of money for not a lot of experience. We paid extra to have an encounter with the nurse sharks. Entry and encounter for 3 people (1 adult and 2 kids) was over $150... 5 minute with nurse shark each. Park area is very small. Animals seemed well cared for.
Well worth admission price of $24/adult! Totally enjoyed the (free) guided tour, but the our guide Laura seemed rushed to finish her docent duties & get back to her real work.My best experience was AFTER the tour. Complained to my friend Phyllis that my questions were not adequately answered... This other docent JESSE overheard me and spent 15 mins explaining mangroves and ecosystem ecology to me. MUCH APPRECIATED. Overall a great experience, thanks especially to Jesse!
Plenty of sea life to see. Could pet sting Rays horse crabs starfish and turtles. 2 big tanks with sharks and such. General admission was 26 and some change. Was a little pricey for the whole experience (about 45 minutes) but all in all a neat experience.
I pet an alligator. A stingray splashed me, I think on purpose.Good times, fun for kids, takes about an hour without the bonus experiences (cost extra)
Another tourist attraction in the florida keys. Great collection of marine life and interactive touch encounters. Unfortunately Im afraid this leads to the deterioration of their health. Small enclosures, over hand sanitization (Covid-19), over population (alligator encolosure), and in one turtles case a loss of health. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW if you will please bring your alge covered turtle to the TURTLE HOSPITAL. I want to recommend this place; I just need you to help out.
Very nice experience. You can see a lot of fishes and also some you can pet ️ and they love it
A fantastic and very educational facility. The staff are so friendly and supportive, especially April. I highly recommend this place. This was my second time here in two years and I plan to use it again next year!
Really fun place for everyone and at a reasonable price and it felt real personable.
Wonderful aquarium for Florida sea life. Petting sealife, sharks and turtles
We all and especially the kids really enjoyed our time here!
My kid loved this one place. The staff is awesome too. Even if you don’t pay for private tour they still explain everything to you
We loved it. Very educational.
Wonderful place to explore! Loved the stingrays!
Great aquarium, had a venue for a retirement party.lots of room and cool stuff to lol at. Check out the shark tank.
Wonderful experience for my kids. They greatly enjoyed swimming with the fish and feeding them, along with the shark and eel. Highly recommended the encounter experience. This location is clean and the employees take wonderful care of the animals.
One of the cleanest most interesting aquariums I’ve ever been to. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The animals all look healthy. There are lots of ways for young children to interact. My grandson fell in love with sting rays after visiting. Thank you for all you do.
Had a great time with the kids. The baby stingray touch tank was super neat and we also got to feed the adult rays. They have a nice outdoor lunch area and nothing was outrageously priced. We spent about 2 hours total wandering from tank to tank. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Great little aquarium with lots of hands on activities.
