Great park. Walked there with a friend on Saturday for over 7 miles. Liked that we could just keep going and get our steps in. We did the unpacked to stay away from the crowds. Was nice to see the water, woods, prairie, bridges, etc. and had no clue they were making snow for the cross country skiers. That was packed. Only issue is their trails need better marketing’s. The pdf files and the maps on site do not name the paths. Yet there are path signs with names. And, nothing tells you how long a trail is. How hard is that to do?

What a gem of a facility. We used the swim pond/beach and playground, both were very nice. I do wish the same was better, but we had a great time. It really cool having chlorinated pool water at a pond and beach! We may look up camping next time we visit.

An excellent getaway right outside Champlin and Maple Groves busy vicinity, the Elm Creek area has forever been one of my favorite escapes when I want to get my hiking fix with only an afternoon to kill. As an avid outdoorsy type that frequents state parks (gotta love that fancy new Minnesota license plate) I have to say this reserve is just as lovely as some of those parks are. The Eastman Nature Center itself is also quite beautiful and it really should be a more frequented destination for school classes or any groups looking to do outdoor education.

Probably the best kids outdoor park I’ve been to. Top notch play equipment and soft floor for the kids to land on. This place is a true gem and we will be back throughout the yearr

Awesome park. So much to see and do in both summer and winter. Fall is alright too, if you like yellow and orange trees. The beach is great and the water is really clean. Skiing and snowboarding are fun too, but parking is difficult at times. Be ready to either park creatively or take the shuttle from the overflow parking a mile away. Theres really fast wireless in the main building and the bathrooms are roomy. But beware the automatic toilets-- they have sensitive triggers so if youre not careful you might get the unexpected bonus bidet wash. All in all, highly recommended.

I love how much Minnesotans care about their parks. This park was hopping on a beautiful February day. Parking was busy and when we got into the main building, we were told we were in the wrong place. We wanted to rent snowshoes. Had to go to Eastman. I wish their website were more detailed because when I had checked it, it didn’t specify a location for the snowshoe rentals. Once we knew where we needed to go it was easy enough to find though. The Eastman center was a lovely building and the woman at the front desk was as pleasant as could be. We had a great time and will visit again. Can’t beat $5 for equipment rental! Thanks also for the low benches so you can more easily reach your feet to adjust your snowshoes.

Great experience, even on a busy day. We got there at 9:40 AM and were told that you cannot start buying tickets for tubing until 9:55 AM. At 9:55 AM there was a huge line, but staff worked hard and the line moved quickly. You pay $15 for two hours on the tubing hill. You have the option to pay for additional hour of time. It got very busy by 11 AM and people were given a 30 to 45 minute wait in order to get a tubing hill pass. The staff at the top of the hill was great helping out large families and making sure everyone is safe. Small children cannot ride on your lap, but if you ask, there are small tubes for smaller kids. I still recommend the larger tubes for young kids so they can sit inside the tube. Children must be four years old and 36 inches. I saw someone with a double tube, but I don’t think there are many of them. By the end of our time there the lines were long and we were waiting about 15 minutes to go down the hill.

Elm Creek Park is one our favorite place to escape in nature. Place is very nice and ideal for tubing especially when going with bigger groups. 10 tickets package will save you 30$ vs buying each individually. We’ve been there many times and had nothing but good experience. However our last trip on 12/31/19 wasn’t as pleasant as we are used to from Elm Creek Park Reserve. First thing which is understandably out of the parks control was a 1hour+ wait time to get checked in. After that we went tubing and employees were a little too rude or tired. We asked a guy to give us a push and a little spin to which he replied that it was against the rules while the person right next to us was spinning those tubes like crazy. After we were done I told the guy that our tube needed air and in response I heard that it was just right, even though he didn’t even look at the tube. Bottom line I’m not sure if everyone was a bit upset for working on NYE or overwhelmed by all the visitors but employees were definitely not the friendliest on that day.
