We give this 4 out of 5 stars for a Kansas state park. We’ve been staying here 3 weeks now in our custom camper van and we’ve had a good experience so far. We are long term primitive camping. The park itself has been clean and well maintained. There was a big thunderstorm that took a bunch of tree limbs down and the park was hard at work the next day picking up and removing them with their ATVs. For the most part the bathrooms stay stocked and semi clean. On the weekends huge crowds come in and the bathrooms get destroyed. Sometimes they stay out of toilet paper until Monday so make sure you bring a roll with you just in case. I think they could do a better job maintaining them throughout the weekend. I also would suggest an upgrade. The park does well enough to at least update them and have mirrors you can see clearly out of in there. The bathhouse #3 by the Bob Fleming church pavilion had one toilet out of order and another that has been leaking. The maintenance men, Swed and Louis were working on them when I came by one day and were very friendly and I chatted with them for a while. Carol in the front office was very helpful and helped me figure out what exactly I needed and better explained the pricing for long term and annual passes as the website is a little tricky to understand. They have great fishing opportunities, an abundance of cool wildlife like beavers, owls, snakes and tons of geese! They also offer a laundry area (could also use upgrading as well) and a camp store available if you forget anything at home. They offer several areas for long term camping and plenty of pay by the night spots. Make sure to get there early or make a reservation if you plan on coming on the weekend in the summer time. Spots fill up fast starting Thursday. A full in depth review is on our website at callsignsandoval.com if you are interested in long term camping visit us to see how to save a couple hundred bucks! A quiet refuge for rejuvenation. Open, fresh, and peaceful. Come out and enjoy these national and state parks. They are your most treasured assets in this country, this world.
It was a very interesting use of a dame, creating a state park. Beware there is thick mud that can cause you to sink and or get stuck. But plenty of room to swim and be able to relax without being on top of everyone. Worth it.
My family loves Tuttle creek! We fish, we swim, we canoe and also camp and hammock all in the same place. Staff has been friendly and helpful.
Cool place to walk you never want kind of wild life you will see i saw the bobcat and I saw a turtle laying its eggs by the shore of the river pond. Awesome.
Great campsites and a few things to do. The only thing Id like to see is the swim beach cleaned up. There were cans everywhere and I even pulled a broken beer bottle out of the water...
The kids had a blast swimming at the lake, but the beach was small. Of course, I grew up swimming at Milford lake and their beach was huge. Still a nice place to take the family
Campsites were nice, but the restrooms and showers were straight out of a prison movie.Busted towel hooks, peeling paint and LOTS of spiderwebs with egg sacs in them. Has to be at least 3-4 weeks since they were cleaned. The showers had only an on/off knob with no way to adjust the temp or pressure. Chilly water at slightly above a spurt was the bet shower there. And a lot of debris in the shower (toads, mosquitoes, clumps of hair, discarded soap bottles, etc.)And did i mention NO TOILET PAPER!! 2nd day in and still none. Someone was kind enough to leave a partial roll in 1 stall.
Like this park. Looks clean and well kept.
Everything is in good shape, the River pond is low because of maintenance. Lots of campers
Beautiful park, we rented kayaks and had a great time. Fast, easy professional service when we both rented and returned the kayaks.
The water has come in quite a bit and there is almost no beach. But its so beautiful and even when busy it still feels like your in paradise
Definitely the better choice compared to Milford lake over near Junction City. Less chances for ticks and cleaner water.
My husband & I started driving down to Tuttle Creek with our new quad from Lincoln NE! We love this park & the trails!
Very nice weather for walking and the very large cottonwoods were great!
Camping here is always enjoyable, the site is well maintained with lots of beautiful trees.
Nice staff, it was crowded but ok everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves, it was so nice I purchased an annual pass lol.
Love getting away to this place. Its so green this time of year. Although the water was a bit smelly, this location offers so many opoetunities to plug in and unplug at the same time. Its a glampers dream at $19 per night for a trailer spot. Plenty of shade and open spaces, parks for the kids, watercraft rentals, cabin rentals and tent areas. The added showers and restrooms make it so easy to get away comfortably. Probably heading back tomorrow if a cabin is available! Namaste
Restrooms are very outdated and didnt have hot water the week we were there. Sites are spacious and level - gravel - but apparently there is no limit to how many tents, vehicles, etc can be on each site, so the park gets pretty crowded. There is a nice, short trail called the Cottonwood Trail at the River Pond area.
Awesome shade for camping, nice and quite! Camp sites are far enough from each other that you dont feel over crowded.
A beautiful State park. Many camp sites, some with full hookups, some with electric and water and some tent sites with no hookups. Many trees for shade. The park is very clean and well maintained. The staff we spoke with were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park to anyone who want a place to camp or just visit.
Love this place loved here my whole life... Tuttle creek is the biggest manmade lake
Great lake. Has camping hiking fishing kayaks for rent and a pretty nice 18 hole disc golf course. Also has cabins you can rent.
Nice campgrounds well maintained. They are getting ready for memorial day weekend. Rv sites Tent sites. Little store kayak canoe rentals
Lots of rocks to traverse and tear up your ATV. Nowhere to really open it up. I wont be back
This place is a joke for a state park. First of all they allow you to book a site where your rv cannot even fit with no description of length. Stay away from site 170 on fancy creek if you have an rv, it is slanted and any rv parked there will hang out in the road. Nothing is maintained in my opinion, weeds grown up everywhere. If you camp on the fancy creek side good luck finding where you are supposed to go. There are no signs, no one there to check you in, and you can’t get ahold of anyone. Definitely would not go back, this place is more suitable for tent camping.
Looked pretty good but theyre saying its gonna flood so just 3 stars.
Great disk golf courses .
Nice and shady! Great place to get away for recreation!
The water is so high. 33 feet on the wall. The State park behind the dam is totally under water as far as the eye can see.
Good place im fishing river pond look good beautiful
Quiet and peaceful and happy area....white Bass good end of April!
Site #64....Amazing. Plenty of shade throughout the park
Great to have a state park so close to town. Lots of camping and activities, just wish there were more trail and wilderness opportunities.
Had a great time with my friends.
The primitive site we camped at was perrrrfect! The grounds could have been kept mowed a little better but I can understand with all the rain we have been getting. We were able to fish right where we camped. It was awesome!
Love to fish, swim, kayak, hike, and camp here of course.
Great place to camp with the family. Most of the spots are spacious with lots of shade
Great place to enjoy time with family and friends.
Nice view and vibe. Thanks Manhattan!
Always enjoy going to the park. Its nice to sit back and enjoy nature.
Kayaking or canoes and paddle boards all rent out for $10 and hour!! Reasonable price and friendly people!!
We were in Manhattan, KS to attend a Baptism and stayed at Tuttle Park rather than a motel room.I think in better weather we would have enjoyed our stay more. But even with high winds and all, we had fun anyway with our grandaughters. The reservation process had some glitches after booking 3wks in advance. We suggest you schedule at least 3wks ahead of need and call to confirm a week later. Enjoy!
Spacious sites, well maintained.
Its so nice, and clean
Clean,quiet and shaded.
So much to do and explore. Guaranteed to be worth your time and experience. Something for everybody. Highly recommended. Scenic overlook, great camping and fishing. Boater friendly
This park is well kept up and there are many things to do. I was just fishing today but have played disc golf, rented canoes, swam and camped out here.
Always a great spot to visit and be outside!
Nice quiet place with campsites spaced so you dont have neighbors too close. The pull thru sites are curved off the road. If you have a big 5th wheel you may want to try and reserve 1 thru 9 as the curved pull thru sites are a bit short and curved too much to easily unhook and hook up without getting into the grass. Overall a great place to camp.
Fantastic park with great staff. A lot to do at this park. Disc golf course was excellent!
Not my kind of camping. No structure to the primitive camping (just set up anywhere and anyone else can set up right on top of you) and the shower room was gross.
I have been here twice this year once with the whole family and once with my hubby! Always clean, always affordable, amazing management! Very nice people pots and pans, dishes, coffee maker most basic things are there as long as you clean up your mess and have respect it is a very nice place. You will want to go back!
Sit back. Breathe in. Breath out. Relax. Soak up the surroundings.
We love this lake. The swim beach is well cared for. Our kids love it!
The staff at tuttle creek was really nice and the place is really good for large community picnics.
Great place to camp walking trails shower houses handy dump sites good fishing helpful people
No good fishing the night I was there .....
Love it here great fishing
Great place to camp with amenities. Showers, flushing toilets, dumpsters, level ground, dog park, cheap laundry, disc golf, free bikes to use here, mini library, fire rings, some noisy people up late here on Saturday night. Overall good place.
There are several places where you can take a camper and have beautiful scenery and peace. The price is not to bad either, 30 for 30 amp hook up and water a night.
The restrooms in this park are the dirtiest weve encountered in all our camping travels. Appears they havent been cleaned all summer. Awful!
If youre into water sports it is a good place to go go to kayak or canoe
Beautiful place, really enjoyed doing our archery tournament there!
Good area to take walks, go fishing, boating, and exploring. Pet friendly.
Pretty clean and lovely scenery. Was never bothered by anyone. Shower house works and had warm water which is a plus. Camped in a tent on a nice little bit of land with a fire pit and grill. Cheap, very nice for the price.
We love this place.
Its a very safe place to come an bring the family me my wife an son bring our dogs here all the time. Its a great place for a family outting, you can fish walk the trails or even barbeque its a great experience an if your ever near by i suggest stopping by an taking a look at the sights.
Great area to grill hotdogs and bake apple cobbler in the cast iron oven.
It was alright minus the 18 dollar to over night fish
Great day for a paddle with #LittleApplePaddle2019
Great place for a swim or picnic, went here after a day of wheeling at Tuttle Creek ORV park.
We stayed on the Rocky Ford side, but the lake is always awesome, even if it is just a bit high. Nice kayaking.
Very shady and cool its so hot here this is a nice Shady Campground
Beautiful park
Great place to go boating or kayaking. Variety of places to camp.
Well maintained, nice facilities and a great mix of recreational opportunities.
We love camping here. Staff is very friendly. My kids love the beach. They have alot to offer.Great park.
Omgosh we loved this place!
Tuttle Creek has great camping, great fishing, and one of the best overall outdoor experiences in Kansas. A wonderful, beautiful place to bring the whole family for almost all outdoor activities.
Great place.
Good place for Summer fun. Camping, boating, fishing or water games. Campgrounds are nice and available most of the time. Great place for family trip.
So far everything is great waiting for storm to go through hail high winds and rain the campsite is great
Dont get me wrong I love this place but the gate guards are the most rude and unhelpful people Ive ever delt with in a state park.
Went for a trash pick. Lake and grounds nice. Staff super helpful.
Good for recreation....
Beautiful state park, we were early in the season so very few campers around. We were in a prime site with full hookups, nice spacing of sites. We camped about 100 yrds from the lake with a great view. If theres ever a chance to stay at this campground again we will be here.
Nice scenic view.
This was the second state park we stayed at in Kansas and we were very disappointed in this one. The site itself was good but the bathrooms/showers were really really poor. There were no sewer hookups and no open amenities. We didnt know about the Country Stampede having just concluded the week before, so there was quite a bit of trash laying about and construction crews working to take down fencing. The staff was friendly and helpful when we looked to change sites in order to get some shade.
The campground was nice. The location had plenty of space between spots. Lots of things to do there.
Quite and big
