We had my daughters birthday at the great xcape. The girls had a blast and everything was nice. The owners worked with us even with a last minute scheduling change. Great experience!

Great and fun challenges. The one I was in was a bit tough (6/10) but it was well thought out. One puzzle was hard that even the proctor couldnt explain it to us. But it was still loads of fun! Ill definitely be going back on of these days

I took my mom here for mothers day along with my brother and his girlfriend, it was a very pleasant experience. It was our first time going to an escape room and we will definitely be back! Prior to visiting I emailed to ask a question and the lady was so kind and even gave us a code to use along with allowing just our family of 4 to be in the room. When we got there the ladies at the front desk were inviting, and the young lady who explained the rules to us was awesome! We had so much fun and are very much looking forward to going back in the near future!! Thank you for making our mothers day fun and our first experience one to remember.

So much fun! We took our 10 and 8 year old daughters and they had a blast! And, we solved it with almost 5 minutes to spare. We truly had a blast and can’t wait to go back again. Very fun, friendly staff, clean, and great for the family.

The escape room had top many useless clues. No way someone could solve it in time on their first attempt at the room. They arent able to lock you into rooms in this county, so it was just a single room puzzle. Wouldnt choose this place again. The puzzle, and clues were a BIG stretch. Didnt make sense and too many useless items and clues.

Great experience from beginning to end. They allowed us to extend our Groupon in order to make it. They were also very communicative with directions and how to get there. They also recommended the room Shipwrecked. As soon as we got there, they were very helpful in getting us into the room. Once there, it was such a fun experience especially having other people there. If you like it, they give you a 55% off coupon at the end. I highly recommend them! My husband and I will definitely be back.

Best place in NOVA. The rooms were unique and challenging but nothing felt out of reach. Hints were provided at our pace so we didn’t feel abandoned but we weren’t given clues prematurely. I seriously recommend this for a group of friends or a date night (maybe bring another couple with you though, it would be very difficult with just two people). The owner, Julie, was so welcoming and wonderful. I hope to see their business grow (hint hint )

My friend and I have participated in a couple dozen escape rooms in several facilities all around Northern Virginia and DC and overall rate this one a 6/10 with the discounted price. (I would rate this a 3/10 if paid at the full price). We were fortunate enough to have a half off coupon, which definitely made the visit worth it. We both would have been very disappointed though if we had paid full price for the quality of the room and puzzles. We had a group of two and did two rooms - Mad Scientist and Missing Millions.If I lived within a few minutes of this escape room, I would probably return with a half off coupon because I do love escape rooms so much. However, I would not recommend for full price or even for half price if the trip is more than 30 minutes until the rooms improve.PROS: The room design was very nice with good props. We enjoyed the maze puzzles and magnetic locks. The room actually gives a full 60 minutes, as opposed to some escape rooms that only allow 45 minutes to escape. The rooms had a nice size and were well lit. There were a couple of puzzles that were challenging and also had a logic to it that made them solvable without hints. The tv introductions were a very nice touch. The $15 price after the discount makes the room well worth to try if youre in the area.CONS: For the full price, the room is too simplistic with the locks and puzzles. If Im paying $30 a ticket, I would want Escape Room Live quality props that include elaborate sets with computer technology. These rooms were mostly old fashioned locks. I love old fashioned rooms, but not at the price of advanced rooms.The puzzles did not flow well. One clue did not lead to the next, which resulted in a lack of direction in the game. Most of the puzzles were also rather convoluted to solve and required real jumps in thought. In other rooms when a puzzle is inherently convoluted, there is some sort of clue hidden that offers a hint on how to solve. Though we try to avoid asking for clues in rooms, the puzzles did not offer enough direction to solve, stopping all progress and leaving no option but to ask. Because of this, the minute penalty for a clue seems harsh. No other room we have ever been in has penalized time for a clue. The clues were not even always clues, but just the actual combination.The word searches had so many letters with words in all directions, that it required a good chunk of time for two people. In a room where you are paying for time to work on puzzles that require thought and logic, I resented having to spend a fair chunk of that time doing multiple word searches. Word searches are not difficult and dont require thought, they are just time intensive. The same effect could have been achieved with words that were a bit easier to find.There were too many locks for one room. Off the top of my head, I can count about 20 locks in one room. With 60 minutes, that is averaging 3 minutes a lock, which does not seem feasible. Because the game lacked flow, we had a difficult time figuring out which lock went with each clue, the order in solving the locks, and what areas to focus on. Having multiple locks on one case also takes the joy and excitement out of solving that particular lock. There is no satisfaction of taking off a lock when there is no reward of a clue in return. Considering how many locks there were in the room, the multiple locks on one box was not necessary.One of the locks was not properly set. We used two clues to receive the combination that we had figured out on our own. In the end, time had run out without us opening the box because the lock had been reset with the wrong combination.OVERALL: The escape rooms were worth the cost of $15, but not much more than that. Hopefully future rooms here will improve and streamline the puzzles better.

A really fun escape room experience! Best enjoyed in a small group. Fair warning: the doors to the rooms are not really locked because of fire safety codes, which kind of defeats the purpose but it still really fun anyway.

This place is so fun. Weve come twice now to do two escape rooms: Aunt Ednas apartment and Mad Scientist. Were hoping to come again and do others. The staff here is super friendly and awesome. The challenges are fun and this is a very family friendly venue.

Husband and wife owners are out here doing big things. This place is a great place to go to forget the world for an hour. Throw yourself into these lateral thinking puzzles theyve created and have fun. Especially with a group!!! Even the lobby has cute puzzles to do while your room is being prepped. My family and I will be back, for sure :)

I had a good time. It was fun.

Went as part of an anniversary day my significant other and I were having. We did the shipwrecked room and it’s simply fantastic. We were the only ones in the room as we booked the earliest opening. To put it plainly; we had an absolute blast. The room is challenging and cleverly designed. There is little to no wear on parts of the room that might give away solutions. The staff is concise and incredibly nice when explaining the rules and theming. And when we, regrettably, didn’t complete the room the staff member didn’t just solve the puzzles and escort us out, they explained how we got hung up and showed us what we might have overlooked which really made it so we didn’t feel disappointed in not completing the room. We will absolutely be back. And we’ll encourage others to come with us.

Of course I had to pick the hardest room for my family and I, but the person attending the room admitted that the hints that were provided were not on point with where we were actually at in the game itself at the time we needed them. Not only that, but there was just so much useless information in the room that it wouldve been nearly impossible to solve the puzzle in time. Looks low budget, felt low budget, wont be returning. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Went today, 1 adult + 3 kids (6yr - 13yr)... lots of fun for the whole family! We did the shipwrecked room along with another family but we all enjoyed it. Will be back to try another room soon!

This was way more challenging than I expected! We did the mad scientist. It was very fun and the time went so quick. We were almost there but perished before the time ran out. Well be return customers for sure!

We did The Following room and it was one of the hardest escape rooms we have ever done! I would recommend groups of 4 or more because we only got about halfway through with 2. A couple of the props weren’t cleaned and had clues written by previous teams. Overall, good experience and cool concept!

This was the first escape room that Ive done and I had a good time. I like that there are different things that can be worked on at once so everyone isnt just working on the same puzzle at once. I have since done another one and although this was fun, it wasnt as fun as the second (didnt get out of either room so thats not why I liked the second one more). The second one offered more than just combo locks to get in to a safe, locker, etc. that made the second room more interesting (like if you put some pegs in to the right slots, it would automatically open a locker instead of the correct order giving you a new combo). I also found the place itself hard to find as there arent any signs on the exterior of the building and its in what appears to be an office building.

Honestly everything was better than expected. As Ive been to way more expensive escape rooms in Alexandria (which were great btw) so Ive adjusted my expectations according to the price difference and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms here. Me and my daughter enjoyed the fun and will definitely come back for other rooms, because they are really good! Posting no pictures though as those are prohibited, but you can bring your cellphone into the room no problem.

Good escape room place. Went there for a party and tried out the Shipwrecked room, and came close to escaping. Kinda hard to find where to enter, but worth the time finding it.

Ive not done one before so not much to compare it to but it was a good time. There were some tweaks that needed to be done which would enhance the experience and was noted by the staff so I expect it improve. That being said, I recommend this for a small group activity. There was also a family friendly one which we looked at and it looked cool for kids.

Great fun with co-workers. Ive been to all three rooms and one was as good as the others. Especially liked the mad scientist room.

Fun! Brand new place, various rooms, friendly owners/staff. We did the Shipwreck room and it was a fun first escape room experience. Location is a bit tricky to find plan a few extra minutes to find it.

It would have been fun but the AC was not working properly and it was so hot that I was getting dizzy and we were all sweating less than half way through which makes it hard to concentrate to say the least. I informed staff who just said “yeah the air is messed up in there”. Not real professional. Will not go back for that reason alone. Too bad because it could have been so much better!

The room was a bit low budget. It was fun. The kids enjoyed it.
