This is a wonderful public park along the Pacific Ocean. There is a nice Boardwalk to walk along with really cool educational signs that help explain the habitat of this watershed area. There was plenty of wildlife when I went including maybe 10 different types of birds, and I also saw signs that mentioned that during different times of the year there are a specific type of fish breeding in this area. It seems that the parking was free? Maybe this is because I came on a Sunday, or because of the pandemic. Bottom line is that this is a fun family friendly place to visit. It is also a very hot surfing spot.
It was a hot summery day ~80F. Water level is very low. You can see lots of birds (Siegals, cranes, sand pipers...). Most flowers bloomed already. You can still see some. You can walk yo the Beach. The water was very nice. At low tides you can see some sea creatures. If you love the Beach and the Sun: this is a perfect place to stop / come.During Covid19 wear a mask !!!
Probably one of the easier Malibu beaches to get to, and with a little luck you might even find a spot in the paid parking lot, ($3/hour - $12 max.) Its a nice long walk from the parking lot to the beach through the lagoon preserve. Once you get to the beach, however, you may realize, that if youre not into the lagoon preserve, which is beautiful and fascinating in its own right, the beach isnt all that nice. Small rocks, big rocks and lots of trash in the sand. So sad We found a few hermit crabs in the nearby tide pools, which was kind of nice. Kids complained about the walk back as well.
Nice, Outside parking on PCH, No meters. Across the street some places to eat check maps. Have a great day, Slow down relax.
Great place with beautiful views. Mask up California if you plan on visiting. Its a requirement.
We were there for two hours. It wasnt too crowded so it made it easy to keep our distance. We planned to leave if it got too crowded but it worked out just fine. Most people wore masks except when they were in the water, obviously. The lifeguard wore a face covering and constantly walked up and down the shore talking to people. Parking is limited but theres plenty of street parking a few blocks away. If the parking lot is full and dont want to make everyone in the car trek back, drop off the fam by the stairs in the middle of the roundabout and then park a few blocks away. The ranger will let you drop off and pick up. I think you can pay with credit cards but it wouldnt hurt to bring some cash, just in case. Theres a gas station near by and a bunch of places to order take out. Be safe and have fun!
Loved this cute little lagoon. I found so many shells and got to check out some cool mini tidepools. Be careful walking around because sea hares (Slugs) are a common dweller and I accidentally stepped on one buried in the sand. Definitely enjoyed this beach area in Malibu. Parking is cheap down the street, and theres a beautiful little pathway and garden on your walk down to the lagoon itself. The water here is also pretty calm, so its a decent location to bring children if you are concerned about waves.
Its Malibu Beach go and youll know why I love it so much ️
Lovely place for a swim and some surfing after going to Malibu Farm restaurant.
It was a very nice beach and we had a great time there. The only problem I had which I didnt know about before I went. There is no where to buy food or drink, only a ice cream cart that went by.
Cool place to stop by and take a stroll for a couple of hours with the little ones. Play along the rocks and spot some birds, crabs, hermit crabs, empty lobster shells and even large live sea slugs!$3 per hour parking. Nice and empty on a weekday morning.I see a bunch of people park at the shopping center across the street for free and walk over though. Although their signs clearly says no beach parking.
Short but very scenic walk around a lagoon that ends in the beach. Many wildlife to look at and admire.
You never know what youll find when you visit here. Some days there are not many birds, other days there are many. In any event, it is a peaceful place to visit, and the walk to the beach pleasant. And who does not like a Malibu Beach?
Good place to hang out. And its educational if you want it to be
Theres a lot of beaches out there. This just happened to be another one. Saw a cool squad of geese though.
Didnt see reubs but overall a good time
Very busy and can be hard to find parking, but very pretty beach. Easy places to surf, boogie board, & relax.
Fun little beach, quiet and away from the main touristy areas.
Its a bit of a walk to the beach, but its a nice walk along a trail. The beach is not so sandy - more rocky but there are lots of shells for collecting. There is also quite a bit of seaweed. There are some protected areas that are roped off so look out for these. Quite a bit of wildlife which is so wonderful to be around. You have to pay for parking
Nice hike from parking lot, bring tennis shoes. Come ealry, lots of people. Nice and peacful.
It was awesome. All our grade said that it is amazing place to discovered nature!
A very nice place to just relax
Nice very nice! There are spots where there is just sand and others with too many rocks.
A nice beach to surf or watch surfers.
Its so beautiful here nice to relax
Very nice for a stroll to the beach with wild life and convenience.
Ocean and sand. Go early and checkout the birds. Outstanding
Good waves for surfing
Nice ambience...feels safe and nice people
I love it!! Not crowded and so picturesque!
Its a beautiful Oasis amidst the bustling city. There are lots of birds in the flyway and the educational signs about the ecosystem were very good! A great quick stop!
Very quiet little spot, perfect for a picnic stop on the road. Parking is not free.
You can also learn surfing here.
A bit of a walk to get to the ocean - popular surf spot, lifeguard station there - surf break makes an easy place for young kids to play
Always fun to visit
A beautiful spot to play with our granddaughter
Great place! Lots of birds, very calm and peaceful place
The water is calm good for SUP, kayaking and surfing.
Beautiful location where a fresh water Creek flows into the Pacific Ocean. The grounds are extremely well maintained.
Perfect place for a first date; we watched the sun set!
Even there’s a lot of walking and the parking is hard, I still love Malibu Lagoon. If you’re a bird and beach lover, make sure to visit this place!
Very interesting. The lagoon is a unique place in the Los Angeles area. It is beautiful and well worth the trip. I have been to most beaches in southern California and this is one of the best beach areas. The lagoon itself has a short walking path directly to the beach, and on down to the pier if you have a half hour. Parking can be a bit hard to find but drive around a couple of times and someone will leave.
Loved it. Awesome calm place. Must visit.
Very great low key nice place to take the family
Beautiful place
Love seeing the lagoons, the tide pools, and the surfers, plus the Country Mart is right across PCH.
Its a nice place to take a relaxed stroll, particularly for great views of sunset and beachfront houses
The beach was very nice. Theres a little bit of a walk from the parking.
Nice place to visit with a family or in solace.Great place to chill and check out the scenery.I love coming down here and taking photos.Parking is pretty easy. The lagoon is very unique and cool to check out if you are in the area
Nice beach. Used to be quite but now it could be crowded with some unruly beach goers..
Excellent spot for bird watching
Nice place to walk, run, surf or swim.
Cleaner part of the beach with less people. Sometimes you may spot bunnies in your bath around the beach
We visited this beach on a Friday. It was a little quieter than I thought it would be but there were people doing all sorts of activities. There are restrooms. Overall not a bad place to sit it to escape the hustle and bustle.
Great place to see breeding and migratory seabirds in the spring, which come in flocks and make a good deal of noise along the shores. still, the beach looks like it has seen better days. an extensive part has been fenced off to protect the nesting grounds of a highly endangered bird, the least tern.
Ocean, nice weather ;))
My son lives near by.
Good but too much stones in the beach
The view is a amazing
Great area to watch surfers or practice surfing yourself. Generally not crowded on the weekend which allows you to peacefully rest in the sun.
Love the walk here. Nice little beach at the end and a lot of wildlife.
Amazing hidden beach
Nice relaxing beach
A bit brisk, coming from Florida, water was dam chilly. Great beach to walk on and colorful birds. A nice place to visit,
Very nice beach but you cant swim there. It is better for surfers.
Beautiful area to watch the sunset.
Great Place to spend time at the beach. A place for surfers, but nice place for everybody. Parking Is only 12$ for the whole day -- a bargain in Malibu.
Quiet place, full of peace, it was clean. I visited during winter so want crowded. Its a good place to relax and walk.
Interesting habitat area - the birding probably requires a scope though.
This Beach is off of Pacific Coast Highway, you Parked in the Street and walk in about 1/2 mille in a narrow road, Its a Beat Quiet Beach with a Lagoon that connects to the Ocean, its a enchanting Oceanside. You got to see it. Be prepared with Confortable shoes to walk in the rocky road. I highly appreciate recommend this Paradise
Beatiful! just be careful from the houses stairs, if you touch it you get wood thorns
Great local getaway.
A photographers paradise!
Very nice, small beach
Beautiful, quiet, and very inexpensive.
Really beautiful beach. Not busy and great for a morning walk.
Parking lot is too far from the beach and it was very crowded.
Cool park looking out across the bay.
Nice place for kids
Small place.. Good view.. waves that be enjoyed and even surfboarding is fun here
Beautifully landscape. Take your time to relax and enjoy
Nice place to walk around the beach or sit down on the clean sandy beach and enjoy nature. The sandy walking road goes behind residential neighborhood to get to the beach and no pets allowed. Worth visiting for a relaxing walk if you happen to eat cross the street at the Malibu mart restaurants.
Very special place! ️ i love this Place ( & Malibu & California). The views of Malibu & the pacific, the Malibu pier, the very friendly & open minded people... best place to life & to visit if your on vacation.
Nice kick back spot
Tidal pools. The Lagoon,. Surfers, plenty of lifeguards. Beautiful piece of Sandy bank,. Not too many rocks. Wildlife is great
Cool spot for spotting the native Elusive (Hobobirdicus) a species only found here and in Venice California. Its a tree-dwelling complex organism it speaks in tongues and has been known to throw cans at passers buy.
It was a nice walk, but towards the side that has a beach, there is a swamp there and it was smelly. Lots of garbage on the beach too.People, its a beach, enjoy it, take your garbage with you !
A nice day for a walk
Beautiful spot. See many different species of birds. A short walk to the beach and pier.
Great place for surfing
Great for a walk, away from large groups of people, site seeing and view is amazing.
