Such a fun place to go & explore! Cant wait to go back
How much fun is this place?! I love escape the room, but I would say this is even more fun! They have about 20 puzzles, each puzzle usually has 3 rooms, and you have 3 minutes for each room. Some rooms require more brain, others require more physique. All the puzzles are unique in their own ways and all are very different from each other. Some require you to think way out of the box and others literally require you to be a ninja warrior
Ive been here several times, starting when it first opened. I loved it and couldnt wait to go back. Years later, it still looks as fresh as it did when it opened. It is *very* well maintained, employees are always wicked friendly, and the quests change from time to time.I especially enjoy (and appreciate) the wide range of available Quests. There are extremely physical ones, like Alcatraz, and then there is Quiz Show, where you stand and answer questions. What they all have in common is the mental challenge. So you might not be able to physically do a part of a Quest, but your teammates might! ..See, the challenge begins before you even enter the Boda Borg doors. Which friends will you chose to attempt a Quest with? Choose wisely.
A fun place to hang out with friends.. The quests are indeed fun with varying levels to difficulties (physical and mental) to match everyones interest levels. Definitely take the unlimited option. 2hrs is too less a time. This place could definitely do better with more food options though. Otherwise, this place is a must visit for a fun time with friends :)
Super fun escape room style activity. Imagine 15ish 3 room escape rooms that are strictly time limited. You can do a 2 hour pass or unlimited. I highly recommend an unlimited pass. You will spend time waiting in lines for rooms (not too terribly long). Lots of fun.
SO MUCH FUN! You get a stamp for each successfully completed quest and after two hours we walked away with one whole stamp. Definitely planning on going back again with an unlimited pass. There are some very physical rooms so dont forget to do your stretches before attempting those!
Friendly staffs and fun games. Cant wait to see the expansion.
Really awesome and fun place. The puzzles were fun, it wasnt too long waiting in lines. Despite not being in the best shape I was able to get through the red, mix of activity. Avoid the black if you arent in shape.
Brett was awesome! I was visiting from out of town and stopped in to check it out. It was a challenge but so much fun! Highly recommend this but be warned it is addicting!
Best escape escape room-style of place in area. Much more unique than a traditional escape room, rooms are separated into short individual quests of varying difficulty. Theres a quest for everyone, and the variety keeps everything fresh all day
OMGoodness this was so much fun! A bunch of us did this in two separate teams. One obviously did better than the other - my team solved a few rooms, but no quests. Still we had a total blast and lots of laughs! I highly recommend Boda Borg. Its great fun, even for adults!
Absolutely outstanding entertainment!! The place is well run, there’s a good mix of mental and physical challenges, and a range of skill. A group of four seems about the optimal size— we didn’t encounter any rooms where we needed more than 4 and having more would have made a few rooms more challenging. All of the physical challenge rooms we tried required full ambulatory motion.
The puzzles are great. Theres a good mix of physical challenges (like navigating several boards with only rock climbing grips on them) and mental challenges (like solving the Sphinxs riddles). There are lockers and coat racks, but water fountains would be a welcome addition. Looking forward to my next trip!
My friends and I had such a fun time here. The room and ideas were so novel, I only wish we had more time here!! Ive been raving about this place to everyone, it was definitely the highlight of my trip to Boston
Amazing place to be with your friends/ family! You will not realize how you spend 2-4 hours at this place. Lots of fun, thrill and good times. I would recommend to book slots for the whole day in advance to solve maximum number of quests
Boda Borg is awesome and has cool quests. Great for groups. Are you ready to break out of prison, win a TV game show, explore a haunted house and run an obstacle course? Youll do that and so much more in a visit to Boda Borg Boston. Each of our many Quests offers challenging fun for your team of 3-5 in an environment unlike anything youve experienced before. Come for a few hours or stay all day and find out what has captivated Sweden for nearly twenty years.
This place is so much fun. My friends and I are all 20-somethings and we spent a few hours of our Saturday night here - had an absolute blast. Only downside was how hot it was! Definitely wear a tank top or be prepared to sweat
This place is so FUN!! They reopened recently, and are a short walk from J Malden Center!
Boda Borg is a great place to go with a small group of friends or colleagues-- see how everyone really performs under pressure and collaboration! Warning that it does get very crowded though, and youre racing kids for spots in line, so be ready for that. Also, make sure to make a reservation!
Definitely recommend visiting with a small group (like 3-5 people) and getting a day pass! Boda Borg is like a cross between physical challenges, brain puzzles, and escape rooms. Its the perfect activity for a free evening or a rainy day. And every so often they change up the rooms or make them themed (like Halloween themed for October), so you can definitely visit more than once.
This place is so much fun. If youre debating on paying the full day price vs the couple hour price I highly recommend doing the full-day price. Its well worth it especially if you are there on a busier day. Because you will be waiting in lines to get into rooms. I dont recommend going if you are not physically fit as a lot of the rooms are physical challenges. I also would recommend going in a group of four people Max otherwise theres going to be way too many people in the room as in the rooms are kind of small.
I was dreading going here as it was going to be for a work retreat. But I LOVED it. People describe it as an escape room, but its so much more fun. There are so many different themed challenges, and I appreciate the creativity.
A very fun location, with many quests to do. Sometimes the rooms dont make much sense, but its part of the challenge! You get frustrated very easily, but it still is very enjoyable. All the quests have different levels, some being easy, and some being hard.
My brothers favorite escape room! best escape room ever! most are really hard to finish. there are a bunch of separate rooms to finish. i was there for 4 hours and only successfully finished one!
Been there several times, always had a great time with friends and colleagues. They keep adding new quests so theres always something new to conquer. There are quests ranging from more physical to more mental activities. Great way to spend time indoor in winters.
This place is awesome and if u go with family it is the best way to complete quest and work together. My favorite quest was the haunted house no matter how many times a I failed it was fun and I ended up passing the level!!!!! If u don’t feel comfortable you can always stop and you can try over in another quest. THIS PLACE IS THE BESSESSSEST!!!!!!!!!!
What a great way to spend an evening. For the cost of a movie why not go use your brains and your muscles to solve puzzles and have an adventure. So much fun. Great double date night. Family game night. Fun with friends from out of town. Just a blast.
This is highly recommended if you like a challenge and are looking for fun place to go! For the best experience, I recommend going with a group of about 3-6 people (unless you want to split up.) There are plenty of quests to choose from and it really is worth the money! Lots of adventures are to be had while you solve these puzzles with your group friends!
This place is AWESOME. If you enjoy escape rooms, this is for you. If you enjoy trivia, this is for you. If you enjoy mysteries, this is for you. If you enjoy puzzles, this is for you. Should I keep going?
Had a great time with my family. We spent 5 hours here and it went by super fast. I would recommend doing the unlimited pass. 2 hours isnt enough time. My only bummer was the amount of people there because it was winter break. There were so many people in the halls and there are doors opening and closing everywhere so there was no where to stand. We didnt have to wait more then 5-7 minutes to get in but when you are trying to solved as many puzzles as possible it does add up.
Very fun place to hang out with family and friends. A lot of fun games. We have been there a few times but we are never bored.
It was fun. I would recommend it. But some of the challenges feel like they are impossible, then you figure it out, then it is tedious but boring. Still a cool concept. It was very fun though.
This place is awesome. We drove from Toronto to Boston for this, and I had so much fun. We spent 13 hours there, and collected 13 stamps. We went there on the 26th on a Thursday, and we still had to line up for most of the quests with 1-3 groups before us. I still want to go again, maybe sometime next year after they finish the new expansion.
Theres so much to say. People activated puzzles! Great employees. Its really clean. So many different levels of difficulty Its great! Their cafe is a little lacking but its soo worth it
Fantastic experience! Nice and helpful staff. Each room is very challenging in its own way but also extremely fun
This place is so much fun. I thoroughly enjoy puzzles and problem solving and this place does not let me down. There is nothing else like it around.
Super cool place. Fun for adults and kids/teens. Combo of brains and brawn. Can get busy. But still worth it overall.
A very unique kind of thrill experience for both kids and adults. Have been here about six times with all sorts of people. Definitely recommend that kids be age 10 or older but my smallish 9yr old enjoyed himself too (just sometimes its impossible to reach something in the quest. ) This place used to have a taco bar - which I thought was kinda basic - but the kids LOVED it. It also meant we could have a birthday party and include food for everyone - now they just have coffee and premade sandwiches. Wicked lame. Anyway the experience is still great though a little costly ($22 per 2 hours. )
Lock room will seem boring after trying Boda Borg. There is a huge amount of thinking and physical activity involved. But it’s seriously fun. You will need to bring your friends though b/c you can’t solve the puzzles without them. Each puzzle - or room actually has three sections. Each room or puzzle has a difficulty rating as well. Note: Please wear closed toe shoes and ENJOY!!
Its a great space, but could use some design improvements for some of the signage. In progress should be an alternate symbol instead of a blinking green light. Exit doors should probably be more obvious instead of blending in with the wall. They should have something that is adults only after 7pm or something to make the experience more enjoyable.
Really fun, multi-age group activity! I liked that you arent confined to one room, but you move through a series of rooms.
This place was a blast and endless fun! We were there for 5 hours and only beat 6 challenges. They were super tough, but super rewarding when you beat it.
Gets very crowded on the weekend. Definitely fun and worth a try if it interests you. You only get one chance at each room/set of rooms then if you mess up you have to start over. Can be very frustrating when it is busy and starting over means waiting in a line each time.
Awesome place for team outing, family time, friends outing etc. Has lots of challenging doors to choose from. Every door has 3 levels and there is a limited time you get to pass every level or else u have to exit. Really awesome and mind blowing place to visit. If u r in Boston, dont miss this. They provide 2 hour free parking in nearby parking garages. Get a stamp on ur ticket before u leave to use this promotion.
Apprehensive at first because this sounds like a lot of work. Ultimately very glad I ended up coming here. A novel recreational addition that really diversifies what Boston has to offer. Great place to spend half a day. Best to come early to avoid younger patrons running amuck.
The place was amazing! Definitely fun for everyone. Small escape rooms give you a little taste of everything.
Fun and challenging. Definitely enjoyed the activities. Place has No Outside Food signs placed on the tables but would highly recommend skipping any sandwiches at the Kafe Boda.
Escaperoom-like entertainment! Highly suggested! Its super fun and you have to combine knowledge, intelligence and sometimes physical preparation to beat the challenges!
My friends an I stayed a couple hours longer I than expected to. We just couldnt stop. I had a blast
What a blast!! Hard not to have fun here. Come with a group of 3-5 (or more, maybe?) and enjoy yourself!
So much more intense than the regular escape rooms Ive been to. I loved the variety and flexibility of trying out different rooms when we got stumped. The physical aspect of some rooms was fun, I felt like I got a pretty good workout in while having a blast. I really hope this company expands across the U.S.
Staff is fantastic, quests are fun. Very challenging. Great place for families and friends, young and old, athletes and academics alike!
Overall I had a very good time at Boda Borg. I would highly recommend making a reservation and going on a weekday, or else you’ll be waiting a very long time in between quests. Having lockers is convenient as I would not recommend bringing anything with you into the quests (except your stamp card). If you or your group has never been to Boda Borg before it would probably help to ask a staff member to give you instructions as to how to “quest” (they have a room on the first floor specifically to do this before you begin). The staff were helpful, but you also don’t see them much as you are questing (you can ask them for hints if you’re really stuck on a quest). Before you plan your visit I would recommend taking a look at the FAQ section on their website. Be prepared to be a bit sore after you leave (there’s a lot of physical activity!).
Tons of fun, actually challenging puzzles, satisfying to solve. Would recommend the all day pass for the hardcore
For the first time, it’s amazing. For the second visit, it’s good, after the third visit, it is ok if you still didn’t find a way to escape from all the rooms.
I had no idea what to expect when I came here on my visit to Boston. What I saw inside amazed me. So many unique and challenging escape rooms that tested me both physically and mentally. I would have spent all day here if I had the time. You definitely can spend a full day here so i would recommend the all day pass. Will be back next time I am in Boston to tackle the rooms I didnt have time to enter or the ones I was unable to complete in their entirety.
What a fun time!! 2 hours and we focused mainly on 3 quests. Only got two stamps but had an absolute BLAST. Would definitely get an unlimited pass next time. Saturday night was pretty full but still got to go through plenty of quests.
I brought my daughter and her friends and I think I had even more fun then they did!
I went on a Saturday evening, which, it turns out, is the most crowded time available. The price is high at $22/adult. There is some limited on street parking and several municipal lots in the area. The adventure area itself was swarmed by dozens of unsupervised kids. There were long lines at the vast majority of most rooms
Fun recreational place. Lot of escape rooms. Need a whole day to enjoy all of them. Go with a friends and family to make it more enjoyable. Need at least 4 people to have fun. Its worth the money. Parking might be an issue but this place has too many other good benefits.
Wow! This place is a blast. The concept of Boda Borg is so much more fun than a regular Escape Room game. You are not trapped in one room for an hour. Instead, it is many mini quests which have multiple rooms within one quest. Escape all the rooms in that quest and youve beat that quest, but there any MANY more to keep you entertained. Any age will find the quests fun and challenging. We were there for two and a half hours and I wish we bought the unlimited pass because it was so much fun. I recommend booking ahead of time, especially on weekends. Also, make sure your group is 3-6 people. I recommend wearing comfortable sneakers and clothing as some of the quests require crawling, climbing and other physical activities. Various difficulties and some quests are mental others are physical and some are both. HIGHLY recommend.
Lots of fun filled rooms with varying difficulty levels. I reccomend buying an all day pass as its easy to spend a whole day here. The staff are friendly and helpful. Get ready to be challenged physically and mentally.
Something fun for everyone regardless of physical abilities. Some rooms felt like you were in a platformer video game. There were quite a few I kept going back into after failing, cant wait to go again to figure them out!
Very fun experience! Could have stayed all day. Do wear sneakers, theyre not kidding.
The rooms are really fun! They let way too many people in at a time. You spend 70% off your time waiting for rooms. Its totally chaos; kids run wild.
Incredibly fun place to spend the entire day. Well worth the $30 for some mental and physical challenges. Just wish they allow reentry/bring your own so we could get some food (they have food inside—small cafe—but we need something filling).
This place was wicked fun and we all wished we did the whole day pass. It was great to have so many different rooms and the variety of physical and mental challenges kept things fresh. The only criticism is the planning was piss poor bc the bubbler is on the first floor and most of the rooms are in the cellar and we got thirsty! We tried boot camps for over and hour, it is hard!
It was a good experience overall, however for a school trip with more than 50 people it was fairly unorganized. The rooms are put together magnificently. Some of the puzzles become much more difficult with more people as you need to get through a puzzle fast and more people increase the chance of failure. On the other hand, other puzzles are much easier with a greater amount of people. It seems like they should have a set size for parties instead of 3-5. One size for all. Still recommend for people who want a good mental (and sometimes physical) challenge.
Lots of fun! Better than an escape room because there are so many rooms you can do in one trip, and wait times are minimal. Definitely worth checking out.
Amazing place lots of rooms can be done but some of them are insanely hard which makes for a good time
Would not encourage people to go here at all. We came here with a group of people, we had dinner and had a drink with dinner. (We are all over 30 years old) We were told that because we had a drink with dinner we were not allowed to participate. The employee states that it is in the rules. For the record it is not online nor in the waiver although she insists that it is. We read through the entire waiver and the worker was unable to show us where it said that. We would be below the legal limit on a breathalyzer yet they do not allow you to participate. Itd have been better if they had tested everyone instead of an arbitrary rule that is clearly made so they can go home. It was very clear that they did not want to let us in because it was almost 10 and they wanted to go home on time. Mind you, the woman that worked here tried to bait our group and asked them how was your night, where did you have dinner, did you have a drink. It was clear they were trying to find a way to avoid letting us in. I would avoid this place and their deceitful staff at all costs.
Awesome place to kill an entire day. Def go for the day, 1 or 2 hours is not enough time
Amazing twist to the classic escape room. And cheap.
We come hear every year for Christmas fun with our family whole family of 16! We love it!
Organized online booking and waiver signing. Spacious lounge and waiting area. Nice design allows people to roam freely. Kids love the freedom the quests allow. Very intuitive systems for passing/failing quests.
I felt like a kid again! I completely mentally stimulated and even physically challenged. These puzzle rooms are incredible, each one is unique, well thought out, fun, entertaining and team building. I had the best time with the fam! I only wish I lived in Boston so I could come here again. We dont have anything like it on the West coast.Good to note you need to dress for activity. When they say you will crawl around or be physically active, its true! So dress for comfort and activity. You can, of course, avoid the rooms with activity but youd be missing out.
I like escape rooms. This is not one! This ones got multiple rooms and have three different levels of difficulty in terms of physical activity required. Each room has one puzzle which you need to solve within a time limit and move to the next one. If you fail that room, you have to start all over again. Sometimes you may have to wait for your turn if you want to do a room but someone is already inside or there are others in line before you. But there are plenty of rooms. Its a good place for a team building exercises. But I would prefer an escape room.
Such an amazing blast. You might be tempted to just do the 2-hour pass, however if you enjoy any aspect of athleticism and puzzles, go for the all-day pass.Tips- rooms usually need 3-4, less than this and some are no possible, more than this and you could trigger sensors that force a loss- wear athletic clothing and shoes
Engages the mind and body. Definitely worth experiencing.
So much fun! A must-do if youre in the Boston area. Come with a group of 3-5.
So. Fun. I cant believe I just found out about this place! I am still racking my brain about how to solve Access.
Make sure you make a unlimited reservation. My group showed up on a Saturday and had to wait two hours for a slot and then we got to play for two hours and did not let us extend. Disappointing as we were ready to stay for 8 hours. The place is a lot of fun and has a mix of challenges which are mini escape rooms. The first time you enter a room you can be bewildering because you are given no instructions. It will take a few times of running the same room before you figure things out. The discovery is the fun part. Unfortunately the place has gotten very popular so most of the time you will have to wait to get into any of the rooms which is why the two hour block feels so short. I would recommend checking it out, very fun with friends.
Best place ever!! You can do real life gaming here or as they say questing. Basically 17-20 or so different themed life sized games that can challenge you mentally and/or physically. Fun for all ages. And I always have a good time here. As of today 7/17, $22 for 2 hours and $33 for all day. I would recommend checking site for up to date pricing. I always spend more than 2 hours here...things arent that easy I tell ya. Groups of 3-5 is the way you can do these. They will NOT pair you up with strangers. For first timers I highly recommend 5 (more brains to figure things out). For seasoned folks, you already know 3 is the magic number. Highly recommend to try at least once!
Excellent activity for family gathering. The kid loves it so much and we all have a very good time.
Obsessed. I take my son here all the time. Best thing to ever hit ther Boston area
Lots of fun and a good work out. Reasonable price if you spend at least a few hours there (which is very easy to do). They got rid of the taco bar in favor of some overpriced, not-so-great sandwiches which is unfortunate, but there are plenty of places to eat in the surrounding area.
I had so much fun here but in one room another team joined up and we hadnt left the room yet the was just probably a mess up in the code but over all this place is amazing.
We spent 4 hours there last night and passed 4 quests. Several of the rooms smelled like marijuana, but they were clean otherwise. Its a frustrating yet fun challenge, and I highly suggest reserving your group ahead if time to take as long as you want. One could spend all day there!
Firstly, the rooms smell of sweat and metal. No instructions or ground rules were set so many were confused. On top of that, one person in my group swears under his breath and gets the whole group kicked out. The place the person got caught? A room under maintenance that they didnt inform anyone about or put up any signs about. I am shocked about the management of this place. That is all I have to say. It is impossible to be optimistic about this place.
This place is amazing and unique. Nowhere else can you get the experience of applying the scientific method to a series of puzzles, many of which are physical, in an environment that so strongly encourages the positivity of failure, collaboration, and perseverance.
Lots of fun. Went here with friends and had a great time. Keep in mind that you need to have at least three people in your group to complete the tasks.
Fun! Great place for team building events.
I had leave a 5 star review to get out ;-)
Be prepared to work. This isn’t your casual just walk around and relax kinda place. You have to be really interested in working to solve the puzzles. I give it 3 stars because the place was nice, everything worked, staff was friendly and helpful, and it was clean. But after 3.5 hours there, my family and I left with 0 satisfaction and not much in terms of fun. I would give Boda Borg a 0 out of 5 on the fun scale. Just be prepared is all I can say.
